In this video we continue our journey into the lore of the God of war series. This was a non stop thrill ride as we discover an older yet wiser Kratos. Aside from the visuals my wife and I were completely blown away story telling and voice acting of each character. Santa monica studios truly created a masterpiece with this game. Sindri found those arrows in a different realm. The reason they are so rare is because Freya destroyed most of them out of fear.
And rightly so, mistletoe is besides blobfish probably the scariest thing in the universe
One thing to point out while you guys are reviewing this series is that when they are on boat rides the dialogue is separate from the on land dialogue except during the cinema scenes. Whenever they step on dry land kratos always cuts the conversation and says focus on the mission so thats why he cut Atreus off from speaking about his past.

when someone's history is a mess, they might doubt if it's a good idea to reveal it to the children, perhaps the children might fear their parents.
Especially when that story is as fucked up as Kratos'
A kid always wonders how much of themselves they got from their parents. Learning your parents have done some dark things may make you afraid of your own capacity to do the same. Kratos doesn’t want Atreus to know about the years of his life where he fed into his rage because he wants Atreus to be different than him. Feels like a common thing for dads to want.
Something worth pointing out, Kratos WAS going to tell his son stories on the boat. The game has characters talk during the boat rides to help give you interactions and exposition, and make those gameplay moments a bit less dull, but if you leave the boat in the middle of a conversation Kratos will stop whats being talked about and continue it on your next boat ride. So its not that Kratos didn't want to tell Atreus stories, its just that the player cut him off
Is not that kratos don't wanna talk about none, in the game whenever you arrive at a place with the boat, it ceases all stories.
Sindri gifted him the arrows and then atreus wasnt particular happy so he then asked kratos to retrieve the dragon tooth for the lightning arrows

Its kinda wild that Odin put a dragon and the black breath curse as ways to make Mimir unreachable. Odin went out of his way to imprison and torture people in some cruel ways.

You guys need to watch a comp of all the boat stories they dive a bit deeper into the lore but the stories will but stopped if the boat is docked and will continue the next time your in the boat which is why Kratos said enough when the boat docked

For context, Freya wasn't threatening to expose Kratos, she was telling him to not be a hypocrite.
Travel between the realms and I see you didn't listen to Kratos when he said everything is different he wasn't talking just to Atreus he was speaking to us too
Sindri gave the arrows to Atreus they were mistletoe the only weapon which could harm Baldur as it was the only living thing that could not make a binding vow not to ever harm baldur since it was to young and harmless
