The Killer That Wouldn't Crack: Police Interrogation of Stephen McDaniel
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 10 июл 2022
- WATCH: Detectives from the Macon Police Department in Georgia grill the then-accused killer Stephen McDaniel about the murder of Mercier Law student Lauren Giddings on June 26, 2011. During the interrogation, officers noted that McDaniel hardly changed his body position in the entire two hours and stood firm in his innocence. McDaniel is now serving a life sentence after pleading guilty in April 2014.

The frustration from the officers is comedic. They use every tool and trick in the book and can't break him. They haven't done their homework before hand and every time they make a mistake is just makes him feel more and more in control. He holds the control this entire interview.
They did a terrible job and made it more funnier. They were too desperate and emotional with it. If they were cool and used their educational training, they may have got further. It was a game of pride with them (who's more powerful, who's more smarter, etc). They made him the winner (in this round, anyway). If one guy's a goofball, you can't win by acting worse.
Agree bad detective work for sure
@@stephenfox8685 was not a game of pride. Was the "game" of a young girl is dead. Make any grown man emotional when the murderer is certainly right in front of you. That said, poor detective work indeed

Except he wasn’t in control and eventually admits to breaking into other tenants apartments not even 2 hours in. So who was in control?
Legend has it that Stephen McDaniel stared into the abyss, and the abyss eventually had to turn the other way in fear of staring back at something darker than the bottomless space of the abyss itself.
Despite the fact that he committed the brutal murder and finally confessed 3 years later in 2014, I find his body control fascinating, because that's some real skill there. Most people cannot hold for hours in one position without releasing the physical pressure sooner or later. Same thing during sleep, you always switch positions unconsciously in bed. But this guy can freeze it as if he was a lifeless robot or puppet. He does move though during the times when the interrogaters leave him alone in the room to release some physical tension too. He's gradually moving his head in the direction of the camera and then back again. And he does it in such a slow motion that you will only see it when you fast forward the tape. Needless to say, his creepy appearance and dull way of talking would have made him an excellent character in a horror movie. One more talent wasted.
I find his monotone & robotic control so scary! Hair on my neck is standing straight up. Kudos to u! I see evil & feel evil not self control. Im so glad Im not that det! The thought he wanted to be an atty is WHAT?
I would be afraid to sit next to that Creep 😅
Look at the days worth of interviews with Casey, Ridgeway, Bundy, etc. these people even pass a polygraph test because they’re psychopaths and they believe that they were innocent. After he was convicted like all serial killers they should’ve put a bullet in his head in my opinion. You were giving death and I’m giving it to you. And I would do it, just my opinion. I don’t even hurt bugs if I don’t have to unless they’re poisonous and they can kill me. I don’t kill snakes unless they are poisonous, etc. and actually I feel bad when I kill an insect, but this is last-minute insect. If you look at his reaction when the news media interviewed him and told him they found the body of his victim he turned whiter than he is, Then stop the interview. And who would hire a lawyer that has a hairdo like that? Maybe another killer?
Is there a video of his confession? What made him confess after three years?!
Him studying law is how he could hold his position for hours. He knew how the system works, therefore they couldn't crack him open.

If Michael Myers could talk
He knew exactly what he could and couldn't say and how the lawyers and police operate. He took the interrogation just to see what all the police had. The only other option he had was "human robot."
That's literally what you are supposed to do though, especially if you didn't do it.
True, but his issue was that he did do it. He knew being familiar with the law that he's taking a chance not lawyering up. I thought he was interviewing a giant Zigsaw doll 😳
😂😂😂
McDaniel displayed a perfect example of a Grey Rock technique, that's for sure but the detectives asked way too many yes/no questions, making his job much more easier. I was appalled to watch them many times asking open ended questions, immediately followed by yes/no questions or even worse, answering themselves.
I wonder how the interrogation would go if there were some external stimulants, like noises, colorful paintings, heavy odors, etc, to distract McDaniel, making it difficult for him to stick with his tactic.
Honestly am speechless,....
Dont know if am angry or if I should laugh
This guy is sticking to his story
Ever watch True Crime Loser?
He covered this, he is hilarious while being respectful of the victims.
Check him out.
I was laughing I couldn’t help it with him looking at the officer like that. Lol he is a disgusting individual, but it was actually hilarious to watch him stare like that with his hands halfway on the table like that.
@@PagingDrMakeUp I laughed so hard lol
“That’s my story nn i’m sticking to it”😂😂
It's those interrogators, they're making it way more humourous that it should be (given the matter at hand, there should probably be no room for comedy)
He didn't crack in the interrogation, but he cracked on live television. His emotional sturdiness was too little too late, and they had all of the evidence they needed at that point. With that said, I've never seen someone creep out a cop the way he does in any of these interrogation videos.

Yeah lmao honestly I have to give him props. Very interesting tactic. Certainly, the cops had absolutely nothing to counter it with.
being ultra creepy has its advantages I guess. The slow head turns and slow talking really just add into it all. A perfect movie character in my opinion.
If they had all the evidence fr ..they wouldn't have tried to get him to confess they would've arrested him on site ...if they had a slam dunk..they wouldn't have sat for hours tryin to get him to confess
He wasn’t prepared on the tv interview. He was caught off guard by the news they found her body, so he revealed some shock. He had a bit of time to prepare for the interrogation, in his journal he states that he’d feign a catatonic state if he ever was questioned for murder.
"Look at me"
(I shouldn't have said that. I really shouldn't have said that. Please, stop looking at me)
"You just a sorry piece ‘o sheit that don’t give a fuqq" 😂 18:45

He said No😂
