With full and complete recognition of Spenser’s father’s decades ownership of this highly original tii, and to the previous owner, Mike Sonderby ( who commissioned the glass-out paint project), I’m the custodian of this car now. It now resides in California. After it arrived, about six weeks were spent with a steam clean, and hand cleaning and detailing every inch of this car. Layers of cosmoline were laboriously removed from the undersides, by hand, to reveal an almost flawless original corrosion free undersides. Even the factoryyellow paint dabs on key bolts and assembly remain. A number of OEM updates such as a new BMW exhaust system and Michelin original spec’d tires have been made. It has now won several awards at prestigious concours- level car shows.
Back in 72, I owned an imported 72 Colorado Orange 2002 tii with the 5 speed Getrag (No overdrive). It was indeed unique in every sense of the word. It belonged on the road and it would make you feel the road ! It really was magic. By far the best machine I've ever owned.
love seeing other channels feature 2002s! Keep it going, the production was great!
As an owner of a 1975, You have a great looking car !
Great vid, man. On several levels (damn cool "soundtrack" as well btw). Being German, I feel it's a disgrace what happened to the heritage of BMW design and philosophy, considering those uggly "Bubbles" wearing the BMW badge nowadays.
Good stuff man, really well made video
The 2002 drives like no other car. The slight scent of horsehair and gasoline. They feel like they weigh 5000 lbs in a corner. And the roominess and visibility. omg. You can easily fit an adult in the trunk. Drive one, If you get a chance.😎
beautiful! congrats
So beautiful and sexy car!!! Great video! Thanks for sharing!
Great Ceylon, extremely rare. I wish he'd gotten off his little stool and shown the engine and trunk as well. A little bit too condescending when talking about the HP for my taste.
Holy shit what the fuck I was just looking for 02 driving footage whats man
WOULDVE LIKED TO HEAR ABOUT TIRE SIZE , SUSPENTION. INTERIOR DASH, WHATS UNDER THE HOOD. UP GRADES ETC. VALUE AS WE KNOW ITS COOL ....................THANKS ANYWAY........
Awesome vid. I love the color was that original? There has to have been a restore at some point.
Much like most BMW's of that era, you unfortunately have a cracked dash.
It is a rare bmw that does not have that crack. It is almost a “red badge of courage” that a car has that sun-caused fault. Very peculiar. There is a company in Southern California which will make an exact replacement, but be prepared to hang on to your wallet!. Given the originality of this car, the crack fits right in.
Valoro mucho que los BMW sean de seis cilindros, ése es de cuatro
I LIKE IT I WISHD ID SOME DAY 69 RED. 72 WHITE AND 71 BLUE
Is this 2002 that was restored at Motor Werks in Libertyville IL ?
No, but it was a sister car. This car has only a paint job at Larry Comerford’s shop in the mid 2000’s. This car is mostly original in sides and out. It is entirely corrosion free - a rarity as most knowledgeable people know.
Those weren’t corners, bring it to England then you will learn cornering, nice car by the way
