I know it's a long video, but how could I keep any of that short and sweet?

I really enjoyed yhis review. You've helped me decide the RX5 is the one for me. Thank you.
Thanks for your kind comment. I hope the RX5 is the best electric head shaver for you, and you get many great shaves from it. All the best 👍 👌
I bought the Remington Balder Pro Rx5 and absolutely LOVE it! I've had it for 6 months now, and no negative issues whatsoever. Easy to use, easy to clean and I can shave anywhere at anytime. Not as close as a blade, but totally acceptable as far as closeness is concerned. Great video! Thank you for your opinion.
Good to hear. Yes, not as a razor but about convenience, speed, no mess, and preference. Thanks for your comment!
Hi budduggly do you got the link
@rafaelandino1092 If he does not reply, you can use one of the links in the description.
@@rafaelandino1092 ??? What link.
@budduggly7781 In the description, you can find a link to the RX5 (or Balder Pro) review on the website (Shaving Advisor), or video reviews, and a link to purchase the head shaver. Are any of those what you are looking for? Let me know what link you want specifically, and I will help if you need it.
Out of all of them balder boss so far best ever used in my opinion 😊
Thanks for sharing Eric 👍
Great review so far recently I bought the balder boss and the pit bull gold shaver so far both work great 👍 on both head -face and neck and it gives a really close shave so far to both head face and neck in other words very happy so far to date 😊
Thanks Eric. It is always good to hear from you when I get a new review out. You are one happy head-shaving guy 😀😀😀
I'm struggling to find what electric head shaver to test next. Have you seen any you would like to see reviewed? Im looking for brands rather than the copies and multiple offerings on Amazon, unless one really stands out. Many thanks!
Just initiated a return request for the Remington Balder Pro. Was working great the first two times, but at my third shave (on 2 days hair), it began to jam and pull hairs. It eventually stopped and never came on again...Looked at this video in order to decide on my next buy. You just convinced me to use blades for now on when you said the Remington was the most reliable one.
Thanks!
Yeah, for some guys, it can be best to stick to a manual razor. All electric head shavers are at risk of failure. I guess Remington can send you a replacement. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Jason,
Great videos and reviews. I understand you focus on different variables for your ranking. However, if you must focus only in “closeness of shave”, which one would you choose? If it is not in your current ranking, do its closeness really make the difference compared to the ones in your ranking? In your web page you mentioned Andis ProFoil Lithium Shaver. Is that the one? Thank you!
Thanks for your comment. I am actually going to update the Web page and only include dedicated head shavers (I want to keep it very focused). Between the Remingtons and Skull Shavers there is not much difference in closeness. I find the Pitbull Gold gets closer more comfortably than others. The Andis does get very close and similar to the best head shavers I have mentioned, but it does not have the obvious ergonomics, which makes it best suited for fades. Most facial shavers will shave the head fine, too, and the higher end shavers do a great job--but I think they are best when facial shaving with electric shavers is a must. Hope that helps. 👍
@@shavingadvisor Helps a lot. Thanks!
@@mauriciomoscoso7779 You're welcome.
How about testing the VEROSHAVE and compare its 7 bladed performance to the Balder Boss of Remington.
Will take a look at that one. Thanks for that!
Great reviews as I have never used a battery operated shaver on my head before. Been using the Harry’s razors for years as I like the no stubble look. I shave every two days. Which is the closest to skin shaver?
Thank you for your kind comment. Out of all I have used I have found the the Skull Shaver Pitbull Gold the best for getting that bit closer. Shaving with an electric head shaver every 2 days is ideal. Do look in the description area for links to the seperate reviews if you need them.
Very helpful mate for me currently in the market for a new headshaver. Good to see you're from the UK also, but not sure if I class your accent as a fellow northerner being from the Midlands? 😅 It's a point of debate, would you say your northerner or Southerner...
Haha. I would say we are unique souls caught in the middle. The family actually moved further up the North East of England so we could be a little Norther than South once we pick up a better Yorkshire accent! Let me know how you get on with your head shaver choice. Thanks for your comment--much appreciated 👍
Hi which electric shaver would you recommend for someone who would only use it like 5 times a year for his head?
I probably would not recommend one for only five times a year and recommend using whichever razor they currently use a sit is so infrequent. However, for using a head shaver infrequently I probably would suggest one of the Remington head shavers as they are not too expensive. Hope that helps!
Alright so Im a little lazy at shaving..... I tend to let me sides which is still pretty think get to long. Of course I havnt found a good maintenance shaver that Id just automatically do daily. The other "amazing" shavers I bought in the past just pull and tug at those hairs so I end up dissappointed and throwing them away going back to my razors. Im interterested in the pit bull gold. Has anyone tried on thicker hair and can confirm that it can cut through those thicker areas without all the pulling, tugging and getting stuck?
They won't cut longer hair, and they are not intended to. It's best to shave with at least the max length of a trimmer (or hair clippers without comb), or it takes way too long. A suggestion is getting a trimmer like the Remington -- shavingadvisor.com/hair-clippers/remington-hc4250/ . It's not that expensive and trims down -- buzz cut style- - very fast because of the wide blade system. You can then choose to use a Pitbull head shaver after to get a close shave or keep the 0.5mm, or like me, you can switch from a very short buzz cut one day to completely shaved another day. You will run into issues shaving hair too long with the Pitbull .
I’ve got the microtouch. After 1 month one of the drives for a blade stopped working and now it won’t charge. Otherwise it was good. Going to return it and upgrade to the pitbull gold I think
Thanks for sharing. That's the issue with the MicroTouch head shaver I have seen with others. I am still using mine and expecting it to break--but it is a really comfortable shave. It is a real shame that it stops working for many as its blade system is very good. Really appreciate your feedback on that one!
@@shavingadvisor 100% loved the shave it gave. It was comfortable to use. Worked well. Till it didn’t. Worst part is, here is Aus, microtouch is $80 and the pitbull gold is $210. Big jump. But worth it I suspect
@JuicyAUS I am the same about the MicroTouch, and I will continue to see how mine goes. I will contact the company at some point again, too, to see what they have to say about it. That is a huge jump in price... damn. I'm not sure what else you can go for other than the RX5 or RX7, as I have not found any better, as mentioned in the video. I wish I could create my own that outdoes these in terms of longevity, but my guess is getting these made at a profit does not come cheap. Hope you find one that works well for you.
Same problem monument stopped working. It worked great until it stopped
@@user-cp6tj6sb7w Was that the MicroTouch head shaver?
Thanx baldy.
I was thinking about the skull shaver gold but with the 5 blade attachment.
However i was interested in the groomie as well which is 5 blades. I'm torn on which to get honestly.
You can purchase an extra 5 blade head with the Pitbull Gold Pro if needed, but to be honest 4 is fine and 5 blades is the most I think we need. Did you mean the Groomie BaldiePro or Remington Balder Pro? I'm not a fan of the Groomie but some other guys get along with it okay. Both the Pitbull Gold and Remingtons (BalderPro or BalderBoss) are the best head shavers I have used so far. I'm just putting together a review of the Skull Shaver Platinum that you can watch in the next couple of days, but I generally recommend the Pibull Gold over that. Best of luck with what you choose! 👍
@shavingadvisor I was speaking of the groomie baldie pro. I saw a few good things about it and it's cheaper to purchase in the states vs pitbull. However I've seen the pitbull has better blade quality. The only reason I thought about 5 blade was for more mass area to cut faster. Also I believe the groomie baldie pro has higher rpm motor vs the pitbull. I'm not sure if it actually matters that much but it's something I noticed.
@shavingadvisor you didn't care to much for the groomie baldie pro?
I'm not a big fan of Remington products which is why I didn't consider them
@mr3000gtman I have a full review on the Groomie, but lack of comfort was the main factor ( review -- shavingadvisor.com/electric-shavers/groomie-baldiepro/ ). I also have a video you can check out on it -- see the main page. Hope they help!
I've used skull shaver fr 5 months now and the battery sucks , I can't even get one hair shave out of it noe as to be charge straight away, I use a baby bliss to remove all my hair and that's close , then I finish with a skull shaver , but it just runs our I would not Recommend
this shaver
What do you ise on your head for the matte no shine look??
Interesting you should ask that as I'm going through a bunch of matte moisturizing products testing for the best ones, right now. Once I get enough I will get a video out. They will be live on the website first before I have enough that i am satisfied to share a video on. The best so far just based on mattifying is the Zero Shine (pricey stuff). Take a look at this page of what i have used so far which includes Zero Shine shavingadvisor.com/bald-head/
I am also trying one right now, from Loreal Men Expert, and it's pretty good and not expensive. That review will be on the website in a couple of days or so.
So is the balder boss or the skull shaver gold better?
I prefer the Pitbull Gold as the best head shaver for comfort and better blades with more flex. But the Remington Boss is a good option, only if it is priced up right and closer to the cost of the Balder Pro, as mentioned in the video.
@@shavingadvisor OK great! Thank you for your quick response. I'm new to head shaving looking for the best one. I'm overwhelmed with all the options lol.
@StuartHoskinson-he4wx You are welcome. Yeah, there is a lot of choice, especially all those on Amazon. I've used more than most people, and it's been a challenge to find a great shaver. The rest you see in the videos I have used really did not perform well enough for me. Good luck with your search.
Well i've been using the rx5 its good but my hair grows so fast that by next evening i have a whole sweater on the back of my head sometimes i do forget it, so in less then a few shaves i need to dismantle all blades individually and then getting them back in because the sweater residue is entangled in the blade.
So im using razors which gets me through a whole day without shaving all my sweaters
What do you mean by sweater? Do you mean your hair on the back of your head grows back fast?
@@shavingadvisor yes if you take off a sweater my head will hit some part of it so that'll become the next colour which gets inbetween the blade and the cover
@TheMistery92 Ohh, Okay. I got ya. I've never thought of that being an issue. So I guess the stubble kind of catches the fibres of the sweater. Thanks for sharing, and I hope your razor solution works as they will shave closer. 👍
@@shavingadvisor Well the problem is the blades get dull after a few sessions so i need a bald shaver and then going after it with the blade. Since the rx5 isn't the easiest to clean the blades and the rings which click them back in are slowly breaking, need an alternative :)
So I see that the Remington is the best but which one gives the closest shave
I would say the Pitbull Gold Pro gives a slightly closer shave, but the best thing with the Pitbull is the additional comfort. The difference in closeness is minor, though! Hope that helps a little!
@@shavingadvisor thanks so much
@Johnathan_Johnson You're welcome. Have a great day!
I'm thinking about going bald. My receding hairline is getting worse by the minute haha. I'm finding it hard to get myself to do it tho!
Go for it. I still have a buzz cut with clippers, minus a comb at times, and at other times, shave bald. It's worth doing once just for the experience. Welcome to baldness land 😂😂😂😂😂
do it. I did and I WAAY prefer the shaved head look better than when I had hair.
So Remington is best?
I would go with Remington, being the most reliable and one of the safest buys. The Skull Shavers are more comfortable, and if a person likes the patented ergonomics design, then they might consider them more. The MicroTouch is more comfortable than the Remingtons, too--but my concern is longevity. Hope that helps a little!
@@shavingadvisor I ordered the Skullshaver gold, just looking for a close shave.
@@curtisfunctionalhealthcoach Great. Hope it shaves well for you. Thanks for sharing 👍
You, like I, am bald. So I trust you
Thanks. Yeah, I am most definitely in support of us balding gents.
My Baldie Pro worked GREAT until it didn't..lasted about 5mos before it started acting wierd and then died!! Sent emails to Groomie, and guess what? You're correct no response...but they kept shipping blades for a shaver that no longer works...even after cancelling my subscription.
All electric head shavers have the potential to fault, but not honoring or even replying to returns/replacements is something I can't get my head around. This is one reason I am almost ready to recommend none other than the Remingtons, as I know they honor the warranty period. Sorry to hear about your poor experience. Thanks for sharing!
What's wrong with the Groomie?
Here is my full review on the Groomie head shaver shavingadvisor.com/electric-shavers/groomie-baldiepro/ . I also have a video on it. The bottom line is that the others mentioned in the best head shavers video are better.
My pit bull shaver was good for a while, then the Battery died, will never buy a PitBull again!!
That's unfortunate. Did you try another head shaver after? Thanks for sharing!
Yes i have the Hummingbird, love it..@shavingadvisor
@vanceauclair9499 Okay. I've just had a look at that on Amazon, and it looks very similar to the MicroTouch Titanium head shaver I used and reviewed. Thanks for sharing that, and I will take a closer look at it.
@shavingadvisor The Battery is great, unbelievable run time, the changing cord top notch, and it is very Efficient, and I love the magnetic head, and the replacement head is only 16.00 Dollars, and it gives you a number to call if any issue, and where they are located.
@@vanceauclair9499 Sounds good. Thanks for the info on that one!
So the Groomie is no good?
I wouldn't say it was no good, but it wasn't as good or as comfortable as others. This is my review that might help with more detail -- shavingadvisor.com/electric-shavers/groomie-baldiepro/
Great review just to let you know I bought the balder boss and the gold version of the skull shaver by pit bull both work very good 👍 so far very close shave to both head and face and neck so far 😊In other words very happy 😊
I just got my Groomie and it did a much better shave than the last two I've owned.
@Mexi_Khan That's great. Which other two head shavers did you use before the Groomie BaldiePro? Thanks for sharing!
I’m returning the Groomie after 2.5wks of use. This past week my Groomie started shaking pretty erratic while shaving and wasn’t as smooth during the shave as it originally was upon delivery. The shaver itself was operating like a massager (pouncing up & down) and the motor became extremely loud while moving around during use, although it was still shaving hair.
Then this morning, it actually was slowing down and dying upon use despite being fully charged. When I removed the blade portion to inspect, I saw that one of the circular rubber pieces where the spinning portion affixes to the blade attachment was out of place.
Pitbull is rubbish the battery dose not last absolutely pants
That's unfortunate. It happens with all electric head shavers on occasions, unfortunately. How long did you have it until the battery died? Have you returned it for a replacement yet? Thanks for sharing!
Yep, mines just died after a couple of years. Didn't even use it that much
