Our favorite trail! Run it probably 3 dozen times and posted 10 or move videos from there.. and it’s downright scary when it’s wet if you take some of the difficult sections on the backside. Thinking about getting a Cherokee as our next project-Jeep.. we’ll try to keep the springs in it.
As an owner of a.2000 WJ, I'm proud to see the capability this design has! No, it's not Rubicon or Moab but that trail ain't no slouch! I've seen WJ's run both very capably! Hey... Wranglers AERNT the only Jeep! Keep making some new and exciting trails!!
John Miller it just proves that the engineers that designed it knew what they were doing and they design things for a specific reason. People that go overboard thinking they have to do certain things to their truck before they can take it off road really should just take it off road stock first to see what it can and can't do and I think they would be surprised.
My stock wj has outsurprised any expectation I could EVER throw at it. When I say she crawled some crazy boulders and rock hills.....I mean it. Colorado has some pretty nice trails to prove its capabilities. All about wheel placement ladies and gentlemen.
BrianScott2133 That’s completely true, and my zj is still stock a year later for that exact reason. It’s entertaining to watch guys with their $50k lifted wranglers with 35’s struggle to get up a hill, followed by me getting up it right after them, and some puzzled looks. Just pick the right line, all I’ve done is take off the front sway bar

@@WilliamCooney-l2v i run a 4inch short arm kit. Its was cheap and mine doesn't leave the tarmac much. Lift cost me $600 and i got 5 jk take offs for $400 with really good tires
Not bad for grocery-getters, eh? Is there any way to prevent the springs from popping out? I'm worried that will happen to me after I install the JKS disconnects. I have a 2" BB lift.
That was my WJ that lost the coil. Spring retainers are the easiest way to prevent it. I doubt you'd be able to unseat yours with a 2" BB unless you also get longer shocks.
Select-trac is the better of them. You can run in "Full Time" 4WD most of the time, putting less stress on the drive train. With the capability to lock the transfer case front to back in "part time" when you need it. Unlike the old Command-Track, in "full time" you can run in 4WD on pavement so its great for rain and snow or busting down a dusty trail. Its really a Command-Track with a selectable center differential. Also if you need to remove the rear drive line doesn't mind gingerly limping out on the front axle if necessary. You need to install the "Slip yoke Eliminator " to do this, but it gives you options. It's my understanding that the Quadra-Track can be damaged if this is done to it.
I just did this trail in my special edition wj. Was probably one of the scariest things i have done. Then again it was my second only trail and i took the hard route
Najar bascially, it only has a 2inch lift, a/t tires, a bumper bar and a light bar. It only has quadra trac 2, so open difs, no skid plates. I do plan to add lockers when i get the cash, but for now open diffs are food for learning.
Nice i have the 2.5 inch bb lift and also upcountry springs with bilstein shocks, general grabbers at2 and selec-trac so open diffs also but it gets the job done. I use my jeep as a daily so i dont need much more than that. I just uploaded a new video of my jeep check it out
Najar so do i, mines a daily driver, i would be putting selectable stuff in. But yeah, it works just fine. I just have aftermarket shocks with stock springs with spacers, i somehow didnt dislodge a spring on the trail.

You think I'd be able to do a 3inch lift on my 02 overland with the 1inch taller springs if I swap to cardian joint shafts and a adjustable track arm?
Definetly getting a wj for my next car. Anyone recommend a 4” lift kit?
Yea a 4 inch gives you clearance and if you trim you can fit 32s or 33s if you go with 3 inch you will only be able to fit 31s and still rubs a little
Just remember once you starting going over 2" it cost more such as drive shafts and long arm kits, not to mention states laws can limit it
