    If you have basic sewing skills, you should be able to sew this dress. If you haven't learned to sew yet, get enrolled in my beginners sewing course, so you can sew all the pretty garments too. learntosew.anitabydesign.com/courses/learn-to-sew

    Love the dress on you! The color is gorgeous on you too. I have that fabric from Joann in a sky blue that I haven’t figured out what to make out of it. You’ve inspired me to go purchase that pattern!

    I have actually made this dress with the puffed sleeves. Also, I made two tops, one with the tulip sleeves, and one with the puff sleeves. They all came out great. I actually use bias tape around the neckline of the tops, instead of facings. They came out really good

    SEW, I have a question... when you download a digital pattern, where do you take it to get it printed on paper bigger thank 8.5x11? I even tried the UPS ship store... they acted like I was crazy... thanks for the info

    • @elizabeth4053
      @elizabeth4053 2 года назад +2

      I have taken mine to a locally owned printer. They knew how to do it and now I email a digital download that I want printed. Only once did I purchase a digital pattern that was not in a format that was printed on a large sheet. I forgot the name of the print file to look for based on talking with the printer. You can call and ask a local shop. Customer service is awesome - they need the business.

      Double Gauze has two layers and is more opaque than bubble gauze, which is a single layer of fabric.💛 Have fun sewing your dress.

    I purchased this. Pattern and according to the finished bust size I should go down to a small And the bodice. My bust measres 35 high bust and . The bodice
    the 41 finished seems quite large
    grade to a med at the wast and hips. Would this affect the shoulder or back width for

    • @AnitabyDesign
      @AnitabyDesign  2 года назад

      Hi Joanne. I don't know. The best think to do is make a muslin (practice garment) of the bodice to check fit.

    • @AnitabyDesign
      @AnitabyDesign  2 года назад

      Hey Chica! I was a stay-at-home mom and now I'm an entrepreneur. I do work out at the gym. I stay well groomed because it makes me feel good. It's just been a part of my lifestyle. My mother taught me and my sisters to keep ourselves well groomed. I don't walk around in heels everyday though. 😂
      I do eat more on the healthy side. I eat lots of fruits and vegetables every single day. I crave them and love how refreshing they are to my palate.

      Take AFRAID and GO FOR It! Anita is a Wonderful and Patient Teacher! You will be Amazed at what you will learn😀

    • @sewforthandsewon
      @sewforthandsewon 2 года назад

      Anita is a great teacher. Sew along with her and your project will turn out nice. Don't be afraid. It's only fabric and thread. You can do it. Learn from any mistakes and keep it moving. 🦋

    • @AnitabyDesign
      @AnitabyDesign  2 года назад

      Hey Barbie! Trust me when I tell you this: You WILL make mistakes. It's how we learn. I always tell my students, "Mistakes are your best teachers." I have made LOTS of mistakes and I learn every single time. I still make mistakes, even though I've been sewing for many years.
      Have I messed us good fabric? YEP!
      Have I made garments that didn't fit? YEP!
      Have I made garments that were not flattering on me? YEP!
      It's all part of the learning process. The greatest challenge (in my opinion) is fitting your garments. You don't master that skill overnight. It takes lots of practice, trial and error. It's an ongoing process. I'm still learning about fit.
      The key is mastering the basics. So many people want to rush the process and move to higher levels of sewing without first mastering the basic skills of sewing. When you take your time and become really good at the basics, you will be better equipped to build upon that foundation.
      I wish you the best, Barbie! Just jump in, do the work and let your mistakes teach you. I hope that helps.
