These are so sweet and innocent . I love these babies so much!
What a heartbreaker! So vulnerable so confused and lost. It's so hard to accept that his mother is dead even for us. Let alone for him. The bond he had with his mother is intense. I hate what man is doing to this extraordinary species! We certainly are the lowest life form of all on this planet. The shame of it all!😥😥

Glad he has real surrogate "mothers" to cling to. Many do not realize that non human apes and monkeys evolved to need much more constant physical attachment than we do in infancy to stave off permanent debilitating psychiatric complications. We do need some touch, (and we need to be spoken to in some type of language) but other primates require almost constant touch and have a biology- based terror instinct when not clinging that cannot be cheated without causing serious harm.
I knew they were more “clingy” but wasn’t aware of the biological imperatives behind it. Thanks so much for sharing!

I would think it a great honor to rescue and care for these dear babies who have been cruelly denied their mothers; we humans have a lot to make up for. I'm grateful to the people at Samboja Lestari who are trying.

Im so thankful for the rescue ppl but my heart breaks that this sweet little boy will have to endure life without his mother. They are so intelligent and I wonder if he lays down and misses his mamma or if he still thinks she's coming for him or if he dreams of her, was she taken violently, did he watch her die ? So many things we'll never know. It might be wrong of me but I pray that if a person is responsible for taking Gilaksi's mother, I pray that God's vengeance will be swift and the person will never harm another animal or person again. How could a human heart tear an infant from his mother simply for monetary gain ? Ppl and money are evil.

These people in certain countries are horrible to baby animals. God is watching.
Not baby animals specifically, just all animals in general unless it’s a species sacred to their religious beliefs. They definitely don’t share our way of thinking. They see them as far lower life forms with their only value being what humans can get from them be it food, entertainment, money, whatever. If they don’t provide anything and even worse if they are somehow “taking” a human’s food or living on their property they believe the animals deserve to be exploited or killed. It’s hard for us to wrap our minds around that but it doesn’t seem to be changing over time fast enough to save many of these precious creatures like the orangutans without resorting to keeping them in some level of captivity.
Taking care of a Baby Orangutan is just like taking care of a Human Baby. You wouldn't put a Human Baby in a cat cage. What is WRONG with people ?

I think the carers are wonderful and so careful and caring of these beautiful babies.

Qué dulce y tierna criatura!!. Es terrible que haya perdido a su madre a tan temprana edad con quien debió desarrollar un estrecho vínculo hasta los 7 años y arrancado de su ambiente natural.
So sad another baby Orangutan will grow up with out his mom however, he is in the next best thing so his future will be bright!

Oh my God in heaven that poor baby's cry. It broke my heart... How cruel can a person keeping a lil baby in a cat cage . They will have their day in hell. They must have a black heart. 💔😢
