    Isn't it even harder to memorise this mnemonic? Except for exotic languages the basic alphabets of all languages are pretty much the same.
    (because they're generally based on the Greek and/or Latin alphabet, which on their part were base on the Phoenician alphabet, hence almost all alphabets around the world are base on the ancient Phoenician alphabet. Even the Cyrillic alphabet is the same, plus some additional special letters more).

    • @engvidGill
      @engvidGill  6 лет назад +4

      Thanks Andy -- there are slight differences, for example the Italian alphabet has 21 letters whereas English has 26. So Italian learners of English have to get to know letters which are used in English but not in Italian: J K W X Y.
      All the best :-)

    Dear Prof Gill,
    I was wondering if I might dare to ask you a question ? Presently, in this example: Neither my friends nor I AM interested in ... Is that correct ? Most people said " are" instead of “a.m.”
    Honestly, I would have said: Neither my friends nor AM I interested in....or rather Neither I nor my friends ARE or rather, Neither I nor ARE my friends interested.. Thank you. I pay my respects to you. A

    • @engvidGill
      @engvidGill  6 лет назад +1

      hi Andrea -- it's a 'grey area', because it's I AM and MY FRIENDS ARE, but for an English person it sounds better to say ARE -- the best word order is: Neither I nor my friends are interested.
      All the best with your English studies :-)
