Im from Denmark and i have no problem understanding and writing english. But for some reason i cant stop watching these lessons. You are so good at your job and the way you teach is the way i want to teach to. 10 out of 10 from me!! 😀
I am lucky, the Czech alphabet is similar to the English one so I remember it but this can be indeed very useful to a range of people. Another brilliant lesson as always, Gill!♥
It is good to learn and be better at what we do because we are good at what we can do and we are not bad at what we know that we can do but we do not need to do.
Gill explains everything so clearly... I'm learning to speak English--- but I am so confused how to pronounce my words ending in er, or, our=== Gill...please give lessons ...Thank you so much

Hi best teacher. ...can u do a video on archaic english..just shakespear era....am reading hamlet and word like thy ,thine,'tis, hath.....etc. and the weird arrangmenet of sentences are making hard for me...and i can't findx a place where to learn that..if u can't do it. Can at least provide me with some sources where i can gind meaning of that early modern english...thanks no matter what's your decision.
Isn't it even harder to memorise this mnemonic? Except for exotic languages the basic alphabets of all languages are pretty much the same. (because they're generally based on the Greek and/or Latin alphabet, which on their part were base on the Phoenician alphabet, hence almost all alphabets around the world are base on the ancient Phoenician alphabet. Even the Cyrillic alphabet is the same, plus some additional special letters more).
Thanks Andy -- there are slight differences, for example the Italian alphabet has 21 letters whereas English has 26. So Italian learners of English have to get to know letters which are used in English but not in Italian: J K W X Y. All the best :-)
Dear Prof Gill, I was wondering if I might dare to ask you a question ? Presently, in this example: Neither my friends nor I AM interested in ... Is that correct ? Most people said " are" instead of “a.m.” Honestly, I would have said: Neither my friends nor AM I interested in....or rather Neither I nor my friends ARE or rather, Neither I nor ARE my friends interested.. Thank you. I pay my respects to you. A
hi Andrea -- it's a 'grey area', because it's I AM and MY FRIENDS ARE, but for an English person it sounds better to say ARE -- the best word order is: Neither I nor my friends are interested. All the best with your English studies :-)

You pronounced letter Z different, I know it's British accent but it's the first time I hear it pronounced like that. I'm in US.
yeah, "zee" in the USA, & "Zed" by us Limeys.
👏✌️
tnx
I love you
😍😍😍😍
What does actually letter that old English use? I know its not latin alphabet.
Hi - if you google 'Anglo Saxon runes' you'll find the answer :-)

Usually one out of a pair of socks disappears, and it's very annoying :-)
I am quite puzzled at why she taught this instead of the song
It seems to be an old video because of her hairdo....
Than you So much
