THE LOS ANGELES SOUTH BAY in THE FOG - MANHATTAN BEACH PIER

One of my favorite films is John Carpenter's THE FOG, filmed in Northern California is the Point Reyes area. It made the whole area, especially the Point Reyes Lighthouse where "Stevie Wayne" of Radio KAB ran her radio station.
Even though I've only been in L.A. a short while, recently the Marine Layer fog has been pouring into the South Bay strong and steady, so when it came in thick one recent afternoon, I thought I'd go out there to the pier in Manhattan Beach and see if I could get a shot from the pier looking toward land in which the fog would be so thick I couldn't see the land. Well, I got a bunch! I also shot this video, which doesn't show it quite the same way, but look at the thumbnail image here and you'll get the idea. :)
