This somehow reminds me of the eerie feelings I had when standing at the tidelands in Northern Germany at night. I heard of people drowning there because they weren't able to get out before the water rises too high. My young mind created a myth around those people making them vampires wandering silently between land and islands... I had a vivid imagination creating their faces in the rising water. What a nice song! 🖤
Those who play vampire: the masquerade. This is the perfect shanty for those of us from the children of the abyss. The vampire pirates of Clan La Sombra. Clan La Sombra forever. 🧛♀️🏴☠️✊
I just saw it while finding a song to fit a plot for the novel I will write. I really like Pirates and Vampires and now I'm full of idea because of this song, a Vampire ship that came from a parallel world, only saw during the night to torment and ruin lands, and a romance will began also. 😅 ❤️
Thank you very much! Yes, me too, pirate, the sea - freedom on the open ocean, perfect! I’m glad others liked the pirates as much as I did! Thank you for watching!
@@DreadPirateVinyls Oh Yes. Even with their supernatural powers and abilities they know once their in the Kraken's grip they would be nothing more then it's food
This just showed up on my timeline. I'm now listening to every sea shanty in an effort of convincing my dm to use them as themes for enemies for our upcoming sea based d&d campaign. Love this guys!
This song was not the inspiration for this idea, but I have been writing a pirate ship into my D&D world that is a crew of werewolves and vampires, so it can operate in both day and night. The ship has an artifact that gives the vampires the ability to tolerate water.
@@lucapiemonti9767 The working name would be Blood Moon, but I could change that to something less on the nose, lol. I got the idea from a fan-made duet of the Davy Jones theme from Pirates of the Caribbean (Davy Jones - Fialeja and Man on the Internet), and the two captains are lovers, one vampire and the other werewolf. Depending on the timeline, the vampire (assuming players don't Detect Good and Evil on them or something else that reveals them to be a vampire) could give them the quest to recover the artifact, and then the players would have to deal with the fact that they inadvertently created an extremely dangerous threat for any seafaring adventure.
I had the idea for a Pirates ship crewed by Vampires and Blood Elementals. That way when they don't want to grow their crew they can drain victims enough to sustain themselves and let the Elementals have the rest. And on long voyages or whenever the elementals are on the verge of multiplying or growing to a stronger form or whatever elementals do, the Vamps can feed off them. And even if time makes the Blood Elementals more toxic, Vampires are undead and therefore immune to poison so at the worst it would just give them gas. Vampire Pirate: I vant to **burrrrp** oh thorry ve've been at thea tho long ve tharted to thnak on the Elementalth. That and they probably taste really bad to the Vamps, but you know normal sailors had that problem with "food" like Hard Tack so...
Had no idea this was a thing. Very cool!! The vocalist I work with and I were talking about a Vampire Pirate Captain holding his bride hostage for a song we just did. Found this just searching around. Awesome!!

@@DreadPirateVinyls what I found though originally white of skin the vampires or dragons appeared red because of fire or dragons flame that reflected on their shinning armor which made them look red, such armor I think of as snake skin that snakes shed out of to evolve and such armor was like dragon scales that acted like smithing tongs that kept you safe from extreme heat.
Don't get me wrong, this is an awesome song... it's just not a shanty is all. the whole point of a sea shanty is that they're short and simple enough that any and all of the crew can learn the lyrics and tune easily and that they have a specific beat that you can perform ship's work to. This is more like a modern spin on something you'd hear from the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyworld.
Thank you for your feedback! I appreciate your perspective on traditional sea shanties. My goal with this series is to blend the essence of sea shanties with modern musical elements to create something unique and engaging for the story we're telling. While I understand it's different from traditional shanties, I hope you enjoy the creative spin and the immersive world we're building. Your input is valuable, and I'll keep it in mind for future projects!
