On reflection, I do not mention DRK too much, but I will definitely add it to a future video alongside WAR to see which offers the most personal mitigation & flexibility when together.

Not sure about this especially now. Even though I been playing WAR a lot in DF. Every time I am partied with a DRK, the DRK takes aggro right away forcing me to go OT. I find difficulty getting the aggro back since the DRK has a ridiculous rotation to keep that aggro but oh well. lol Kinda sucks because I don't get OT abilities until later levels like in ShB. The specific content I experience this DRK always wanting to MT is Trials, MSQ, Raids and sometimes Alliance. Although you know, it doesn't matter who main tanks in Alliance raids anyway. Some can disagree and I think the OT spot should be replaced with a 5th dps, because I find it in half the cases that one tank can soak up the boss and adds like cake. At the same time it's understandable where there is situations where you must swap tanks due to too many vulns on the MT.
Hope all you Tanks can find some Enjoyment again, happy gaming!

Unfortunately I've ran into players who love to use the term off tank to make you feel inferior to them.

In my previous static, I played Dark Knight (occasionally Gunbreaker) alongside a Warrior, and in every fight this tier I was always the tank to pull because, even on Gunbreaker. E5 and E7 always started and ended with me on top aggro, but E6 and 8 we had regular swaps throughout the fight. In E8 I would say we had roughly equal time in the "main tank" spotlight. I personally believe that every tank is viable as main tank, even Paladin, and off tank, even Warrior. Mitigating on Gunbreaker isn't necessarily more stressful on the hands either, just requires more forethought and preemptive action, which any tank can do, i.e. in e5s I would pop Rampart about 10 seconds before a crippling blow so that I don't need to interrupt my gnashing fangs.
TL;DR I don't think any tank should objectively be offtank, nor do I think an offtank is relegated specifically to their role. Just play how you're comfy.

This is really concerning. I tank in other mmos and wanted to main paladin in 14, assuming tanking meant you actually tank. The idea of spending 90% of the time dpsing the boss from behind with a shield... nah. I'd just play a dps if that was the case.
If every fight was designed to have forced tank swaps with lasting debuffs so you cant swap back immediately that would be ok, but from what you've said, it appears you can just cheese it.
Are there any paladin mains that can share their % uptime tanking the boss at higher end content (savage+).

Good video, I do agree to a certain extend.
However WAR having the best mitigation I'd heavily disagree on. WAR has some great restoration tools sure but mitigation wise TBN beats Raw Intuition hands down, it's just OP.
Maybe I'm just missing something as I just recently picked up WAR after maining DRK since SB but I'm just always taking way more damage from things like busters because I do not have access to TBN.
On the terms of what MT and OT is nowadays, for me personally I just refer to them as MT->Tank who pulls the boss, OT->Tank who doesn't pull the boss. Most extremes and savages have forced tank swaps anyways so most of the time you end up tanking the fight 50% of the time anyways, unless you do cheesing like provoke early and shirk back etc. Heck some fights even have autos on both MT and OT, so the boundary blurs even more.

      Good points!
DRK has always been my least played/encountered for some reason. It could be a good opportunity to compare the two in the MT position for future episodes.

@@TaruTV I'd certainly love that! DRK would probably still fit OT better as you can TBN your WAR and it's quite ogcd bloated during burst aswell, just to a lesser extent than GNB. Switching from DRK to WAR, cause my statics co-tank only does have DRK leveled, was a weird move for me since WAR is like the complete opposite of DRK. Where DRK excels at pre-emptive mitigation similiar to a SCH, a WAR is best at reactive healing like a WHM with things like Equilibrium and Nascent. Do you even ever use Raw Intuition unless you definitely won't survive a hit without it?

@@niconowakowski I use a lot of NF & rarely put on raw intuition unless I am in need of a boost in mitigation. I think in new patch/prog setting I'll be using it a lot more often versus nascant though. Sometimes between IR windows I will do a raw int instead of NF due to the lack of burst to re-heal up.

@@TaruTV This is one of the pros of the WAR mitigation toolkit. While TBN outbeats Raw in terms of progression imo, it gets worse the more gear you get since popping the shield becomes harder over time. While on WAR you could then just slowly phase it out for Nascent Flash instead, cause you dont need the added mitigation anymore and can thus lessen your healers burdens instead. RIP Sole Survivor though, you'll be missed. Also Abyssal Drain not being spammable in dungeons anymore certainly made WAR the dungeon beast, where I would have always considered DRK to be THE best tank for dungeons back in SB because the lifesteal was just that broken.
