  • I just completed my first ride on the Ultra Bee. But I've had a Light Bee for 6 months and rode almost daily.
    Update 11-07-2023:
    Now that I've had the Ultra Bee a little bit longer though, my perspective has changed some. The Ultra Bee is a much better machine in every way possible. It's a real motorcycle with real motorcycle parts. Also it's a much better bargain than the Light Bee, you get a lot more for your money with the Ultra Bee. I think the Light Bee is overpriced. I thought I would continue to ride the Light Bee daily, and the Ultra only on weekends. I'm finding though that I want to ride the Ultra daily, The Light Bee will be regulated to bicycle trails, sidewalks, and other places that bicycles go. Any serious road riding, or trail riding, I'm taking the Ultra Bee.

    I got a LBX because I wasn't getting out on my dirt bike enough (because I have limited access to trails), and the LBX would open up more riding opportunities for me. I'm speaking of bike trails mostly. And it's done that so no complaints. What's more I actually really like the bike; it's so much fun to ride and maintenance is virtually zip. But, to echo the video, it's not a dirt bike. Not by a long short. I take it on single track whenever I can but the experience is.... well it's lacking. So now I'm considering getting an Ultra Bee as well. This video is both timely and informative video.

      That was my experience also- not getting to ride my dirt bikes enough, in my case it was time and maintenance. After spending a few weekends turning wrenches on my gas bikes, I decided to sell one of them and buy the Ultra. Yea, the LBX is awesome for what it is!!

    I own both bikes, but I will end up selling the light bee, I love to Ultra so much that I'm now also using it for commuting. The ultra does a way better job for this task, the bike is registered and I'm able to keep up with the traffic easily. Other than that I agree with your analysis, both bikes are awesome but in different way, and it depends on what you intend to do with.

      No doubt the Ultra is much better for commuting and road riding. I have an issue with the stock tires though. When I get to about 50 mph, the riding gets a little bumpy. Did you change tires?

      Did you register the Ultra? Are you able to commute on it without registering it? Thanks

      @@NCtrailX I registered and tagged my Ultra Bee through dirtlegal. I don't recommend driving it on the road without a tag. You'll get a ticket sooner or later, and may get your bike inpounded.

    Is the Chinese version in mph or kmh? I thought a read somewhere they were in kmh and people weren't able to switch it to mph. I also thought I saw that if you switch to modo tires that it messes with speedometer, and you need to calibrate it in the app, but the Chinese bikes can't connect to it. Can you confirm or deny these? Also, what are the top speeds in the different riding modes? Thanks in advance.

    • @SUPERGOOSE-LLC
      @SUPERGOOSE-LLC  2 месяца назад

      You can set either kmh or mph on both bikes. You don't need the app, you can calibrate the speedometer using the bike's display settings. I did this on the Ultra Bee, but I don't know if you can on the Light Bee. I haven't tried, but I don't remember seeing it. For Light Bee, top speed is 20mph, 30mph, and 43mph. I always run the unlocked speed and control my throttle. For the Ultra, the top speeds are 30, 56, and 56.

    How tall are you sir? I own lbx and considering buying ultra, but I am 5'7 so there is a concern.

    • @SUPERGOOSE-LLC
      @SUPERGOOSE-LLC  7 месяцев назад +2

      I'm 6'0. I can sit flat-footed even with larger tires. How are you on the light bee? If you can flat foot the light bee, you would probably be okay. If you're up on your tiptoes though, the Ultra Bee will be too tall. I would ask this question in Sur-Ron Reddit forum. A lot of people own the Ultra Bee in that forum, and there's probably someone there that can better answer that question.

    Is the ultra bee plated in the US? If so, how did you go about it? Where did you get it, thanks 👍

    • @SUPERGOOSE-LLC
      @SUPERGOOSE-LLC  9 месяцев назад +3

      I'm in the process of trying to do that now. It's done on a state by state basis, and the county may also be involved in some way. I'm in Florida. The first thing you need is an intact VIN, MCO, and bill of sale. You have to negotiate with the seller on Alibaba to get these things. If you don't insist on them, they will not give them to you. After that you need to have the MCO legally translated into English. You may have to have the Ultra inspected. If you can get over all these hurdles, then the registration is the same as for any other street legal bike. I might make a video on how to do this after I get done with the process.

      That would be most awesome 👍 it seems like this bike would tick a lot of boxes. I'm in East Tennessee with a lot of dirt/gravel and fire roads. My idea is to put it on the back of my pickup, then drive 30min to the mountains then branch out from there.

      I have an Ulta plated in PA, all I did was walk in title and tag office with my vin and BAM it's a motorcycle... I never got inspected but it shouldn't be hard since you don't have emissions. You need a brake light(Amazon)/headlight(stock).
      In PA you can use hand signals for turns or just Amazon blinkers if you need too, tons of guides and easy hookups for power
      And I still don't recommend the ultra as a comfy commuter bike but I don't anyway too

      @@dirtmasta2960 Congrats! That's the way it should be, they shouldn't make this hard. Like I said it's done on the state by state basis, and it may even depend on the clerk you get that particular day. I wasn't so lucky.
