I work as a Security Guard for a property management company here in San Diego California (the company I work for was hired by this management company), and seeing how they conduct business and manage so many different contracts and tenants it has inspired me to become a property manager myself! It really does seem fun and exciting but I know that in order to make it to the big leagues I must start small first and I'm totally excited, so thanks so much for this video! Youre a wonderful teacher.
I do! There's nothing better than educating the community friends and neighbors and even loved ones about being on time with your rent and keeping the property in good standar. I think it's a great platform role to teach that being an adult can be exciting when you are deligent.
@@NayeliRojas-bv7ok come check out my courses. I come from decades of working for the large, national and statewide Property Management organizations. I teach the small mom and pop landlords all the business practices that we train our leasing agents on over at the 500 unit apartment communities. Topics include Fair Housing Fundamentals, marketing and leasing tips & tricks, creating solid and appropriate screening criteria, resident retention ideas, safety protocol when showing units, advertising do’s and don’ts, application processing procedures & tips, and many more business practices used by all the prominent, national and statewide management organizations throughout the country.
Great video😀 I want to try to become a PM because the ones out here are not very good so I can either change it or deal with it and I’m willing to change it if I can.
You can do it! Best of luck to you Sharif. It's a fun job and it sounds like your head is in the right place. Go out there and make that change happen!
👏 yes. It's been a year. Have you become a PM? Regardless, with your mindset I believe you are successful in whatever it is that you're doing. All the best.
@@USRealtyTraining Agreed- thank you, Laura! Could you do a similar video about choosing the right property management software? So far, I've demoed DoorLoop and have been really impressed.
1:03 not completely true. Most states that I’ve worked in do not require a license. However, I come from decades of working for the large, national Management organizations, where I’ve managed the large 400 unit apartment communities.
Hello, I enjoyed your video. I have being a resident manager for over 15 years and am very motivated to be a property manger. How and where do I start? Thank you
Hey, Cali. We created a reference guide that lists the requirements to become a PM. You can find the link here: www.dre.ca.gov/files/pdf/refbook/ref22.pdf But, you can also find this section on the Department of Real Estate's website that talks about the responsibilities of a PM: www.dre.ca.gov/files/pdf/refbook/ref22.pdf Hope this helps or, at the very least, steers you in the right direction of what you're looking for. Wishing you the best.
What's the difference between a property manager and a property administrator? I start college next month and want to know what I should major in to become a property manager or a property administrator.
Great question! Property Managers are responsible for the day to day operations and are hands on. Property administrators handle the daily operations but only from the clerical side.
This lady is wonderful teacher 👩🏫

You need to be licensed to be a PM in every state? Or just where you’re located?
I love it
Are you going for it?
