@@AlejandroRodriguez-lw2pj I just said it as a joke. I don't actually think that. I think some people lack mental maturity, though. Some people just invest because their friend did, or because their favorite youtuber or celebrity told them to. Those are the types of people who lack mental maturity.
This is probably the best crypto-related 3D animation I’ve seen, but it’s still the bottom of the barrel. I’m betting good money that this was animated by Threshold Animation Studios, the same studio that animated Foodfight. The awful lip syncing and the uncanny moment is so iconically Foodfight, I need to find out if they’re credited anywhere or not.
It truly is, but I still don't know how on earth they are going to put the island together they are supposedly going to buy, if at all due to backlash. It also seems like a scam as well.
I can imagine the creators of cryptoland telling everyone to go to an airport with their wallets so they can go to cryptoland. And after receiving their payment, they would fly them over a deserted island and just paradrop the cryptonuts into the island and get the heck out of dodge before the nutjobs realize they got scammed. This is a more realistic scenario than a bunch of cryptonuts being able to buy an island from Fiji.
Like their are so many questions on how this government needs to be formed. Here's the thing about these people. Even if we give them the strongest steelman possible, and this was something they were genuinely trying to do. Not only would they NOT have been allowed to decide their own age of consent, which is fucking creepy as hell... they wouldn't have been allowed to make ANY laws at all. Where are the waste management facilities? Hospitals and fire stations? Energy grid (and remember, this is crypto mining, so it's going to take a shitton of energy)? Where are they going to get food and other supplies for Cryptoland citizens? Nah. It won't end. Currently people (celebrities) realize how easy it is to influence people through trends. The blockchain unfortunately was introduced to the public through NFT's, and unfortunately most are money grabs and scams. Yet - the technology itself isn't a scam. It offers a way to trade securely, without other forces like the government being involved.

Don't worry they don't have a chance with buying the island. It literally only two people behind the project and its specifically illegal for Americans to buy it that land, This is what another person said: I joined the Discord server out of curiosity. The founder of Cryptoland did an AMA in voice chat the other night and it was just an absolute clusterfuck. It was hilarious. Among other things: -he made clear they'd developed detailed evacuation plans but had no idea how they were going to deal with sewage in the island - insulted his own audience by explaining they needed competent professionals to do things like manning the resort desks and not 'crypto people' - responded to a question of how they'd deal with waste with 'I don't care' -made clear they have absolutely no background in any field related to this project -responded to a question as to why they showed a casino in the advertising when gambling is illegal in Fiji with 'it's not meant to be literal' -admitted he'd cancelled the agreement to get the island and so didn't actually own it at all. Over the course of the vc it became clear that the project literally only appears to consist of two people - this guy and a woman - and they falsely listed a bunch of random freelancers they worked with on their website to make the project seem bigger and more legitimate.

What any decent programmer worth his money needs is actually 2 wide-screen monitors, a comfortable chair, air-conditioning, mechanical keyboard, silence and a big mug of coffee. I can't imagine being in a hot beach sweating with sand all over the notebook in your lap with sunlight making almost impossible to see the screen as a developer dream setting.
I am in college for IT right now, and today, "don't use it at the beach where sand can get in it" was literally in the laptop maintenance section of a textbook.

I mean, being surrounded by palm trees and an open sea view does not preclude all that stuff. The parts you emphasized seem ideal to me. A/C inside, ocean outside. The fact that it's all a bunch of cringey BS is another story.
So let me get this straight. -making an NFT is costly in ressources -NFTs have value by the virtue of being rare -more and more NFTs get churned out -less and less people buy the higher priced ones creating a market for "cheap" NFTs -NFTs have become as abundand and cheap as they can -The NFT-craze dies down and so does the value of them -the massive ressources needed to create them are wasted on a data construct If you would go back in time and tell someone we are burning coal just to store who owns what "rare Pepe" on servers, they would throw you into an asylum. Rightfully so. We burn the world for rare Pepe and wonder why the antinatalists are growing in numbers
The funny thing is all nft haters only see the nft value that media portrait. Not knowing nothing behind NFT tech is ignorant and yet you guys still write assays of why nfts are shit. You know a contract with a corporation can be an nft? Yeah no paper just a contract in the blockchain that can never be deleted hence being more serious than the paper contracts we have now. So they want to make people believe that you can get rich with NFTs but then decide to make a 500$ animation with 30$ voice actors and a 10$ story writer? You can't make that up, that is so hilarious.
From what I have heard in other videos on this topic, they spent $2.6 million on the animation. Where that money went? I have no idea because the animation looks too terrible to have had that much money put into it.
6:05 when it comes down to it that “de-stress room” acts as a ball pit…A BALL PIT! Since this looks like another disastrous venture, I will call this Dashcon 2.0
The response to it was equally as creepy, but who the hell sees a concept for a new "island" for Crypto Bros and their first question is "What's the age of consent in Cryptoland?"
I mean, the response is still much creepier. Imagine if someone asked Disney if it was legal to abuse their wife at their park and the OFFICIAL account for Disneyland said "Maybe ;)". I also just figured the guy asking was trolling or something. Why the fuck would the people behind fucking Cryptoland respond to THAT, afterall?
This might be a better idea than most people think. Think of it like a leper colony. Just take all the crypto and nft weirdos, put them on the island, and just leave them there on their own with no way to get off the island or any resources to the island. Put like a blockade just far enough off-shore and it'll be golden, even just some naval-mines would suffice.
6:38 the saddest thing about this is that Satoshi (or the people behind that name) created bitcoin to fight capitalism, big banking, and was an ecologist
There is a reason they were wiping their ass with the whitepaper. It talks about facilitating "small, casual transactions" that the traditional banking system is unable to (in the first paragraph). The banks could not attack Bitcoin directly: so they funded development instead. The Core developers actively block even a modest blocksize increase to meet expected transaction demand. Now BTC is Bitcoin In Name Only. With high fees, unreliable and slow transactions.
@@jamesphillips2285 That's a cop-out. Numerous other coins have come about since Bitcoin, and somehow not a single one of them has prioritized actual, practical use in day to day transactions. It's one half a way to facilitate money laundering/illegal activities and one half Ponzi scheme. There has never been a grand idealistic intention behind any of it. Bitcoin was basically only used to buy illicit items and services for the first several years and then took off as a money making game.
NFTs were initially made to help artists get paid with crypto yet now it's being used for cryptobros to make money off of stolen artwork and massive corporations scamming their consumer base to get richer. Even the original creators of NFTs are disgusted on how NFTs are being used today. Moral of the story: Just because it sounds great in theory doesn't mean it will be in reality
"Satoshi" programmed they're own form of money and tricked the world into validating it, making them $75 billion dollars at the high. This was purely a brilliant programmer's idea for getting filthy rich quick. It is purely the most successful get rich quick scheme in history, anyone that continues to imagine there was some ideal behind this is totally delusional.

- insulted his own audience by explaining they needed competent professionals to do things like manning the resort desks and not 'crypto people'
- responded to a question of how they'd deal with waste with 'I don't care'
-made clear they have absolutely no background in any field related to this project
-responded to a question as to why they showed a casino in the advertising when gambling is illegal in Fiji with 'it's not meant to be literal'
-admitted he'd cancelled the agreement to get the island and so didn't actually own it at all.
@@WinterReflections Seriously, let's not idolize techbro nutcases

Imagine you’re hunting for salmon when some hunter kills you, skins your fur off, then you become a throw-rug for a fraudulent crypto island
Can't wait for the Internet Historian video on Cryptoland years after this shit goes up in flames.
Shun - Li --- Cryptoland sounds like something a RUclipsr would make video titled "The Fall and Deeper Fall of Cryptoland" or something like that.

I can't imagine anyone seeing that animated ad and thinking "Yes. Good. I would like to be apart of this."
