The vosteed nightshade is also very similar to the Fox Chilin....Chilin was pre nightshade

@@Elnavajeroedc spyderco lum even before that too so...It's not a new shape or profile in folding knives and has along history in that shape

@ I think considering the shilin style blade shape isn’t as prevalent as like a drop point people just associate it with the knives they know to have the same shape…. I think there’s more off a topic with the fox chillen and the nightshade being so similar than this fintiso in my opinion but I have no issue with any of them really.

Miguron thumb holes are also the same shape, and there are other knives that resemble the Nightshade, so this isn't a new thing. I love my nightshade. Good video, Doody. Thanks

I got a couple knives from this company ~6 months ago and there were virtually no reviews on RUclips or the usual forums. I think I saw one and he expressed a similar sentiment in reference to the lack of info. At the time they were doing a 50% off coupon on every model they had so I figured it was a great deal if the listed materials were correct.
Anyway, to make a long story short I was surprisingly impressed. The front-flipper with a rubberized handle (labeled as G10 but didn't feel like it) wasn't the nicest knife but it definitely performed the way I'd expect most budget 14c28n would; but the aluminum handled one was super impressive for the price, if a bit heavy for its size. Had the kind of drop shut action you'd get on higher end liner locks where it readily dropped but just slowly enough to gently ease itself into the handle without anything louder than the normal click of a detent ball.
Not sure what to say about the clone aspect but I do think it's worth pointing out how many Chinese brands look almost indistinguishable from each other if you sort by origin on some sites. Wouldn't be surprised if they shared an OEM or had a deeper connection even - the way loads of these brands don't disclose OEM has always seemed weird to me.

👍🏼love the nightshade. Nightshade came from schilin cutter. (Spelling?)
Traditional Japanese knife I think. Didn’t know of them until the nightshade.
I think it’s ok. Not exact copy just very similar.
But dang that copper nightshade looked extra good compared to it. 🙂

Giant mouse uses that shape thumb hole too. I think it’s fine except that its a budget plunge lock in 2024.

Kinda reminds me of the Nightshade. Cheers!

I think it's different enough to be it's own design. The shilin cutter has been around long enough that it's not a big deal for any knifemaker to use that style. Seeing how popular the Nightshade is it would be kinda dumb for other companies not to make their own shilin cutter style folder.

Wish they would make a top liner lock in TI full size Nightshade

I'm pretty sure they have a model that looks pretty darn close to the qubit. Also I look at knives like watches and homage watches r a decisive area basically a clone but u put ur name and logo so stolen design but ur not trying to pass it off as a counterfeit because u didn't use there name and logo. I think u know where I sit on the issue. Honestly I'm not happy about buying a clone I'd rather own the real knife and I'd like to say, I wish it didn't have the logo and name of the og on it, like the spk lamia I have but I'm just kidding myself it's just as bad either way. Owning the clone lamia has made me want the og pretty bad if I'm being honest. The spk clone is one of the nicest knives I own better than my divos better than my twosuns better than my we cybernetic. Idk if it's better than my militaw or padre but it's close especially in the nature grip pattern. Plus I know u will love hearing this I just saw the first clone of a mcnees mac 2. And I'm pretty sure a Rosie clone is about to come out as well. Clones and homages and clomages will always be a thing and I feel like the clones can help people decide if a knife is right for them before they drop close to $1000 on the og. But that's just me. As cool as my spk clone is I'm ashamed everytime I bring it out and someone is like oh that's beautiful and im like it's a clone. I'd be filled with pride if I could say it's a og made in the USA like my limited edition deka or my trm atom.

I think most knives are pretty closely related with others. I will NEVER BUY A CLONE!!!
