    I just bought one and not only do they not include a manual but there was no quick start guide either. Your video is better than any Dyson instructions would be but I'm irked they didn't include a word about how to use the vacuum and accessories. After seeing your review and that it's not the more powerful of the Dyson cordless models I may have chosen differently but then again probably not. I didn't want the trigger models and lightweight was important to me. So far I really like it a lot and seems to pick up well on my floors. Thank you for the great review.

      I’m having trouble vacuuming a rug on a wooden floor it’s a thick pile rug, even on eco mode the Dyson v12 is hard to push and it jams and stops working.

    That small hair removal tool at 2:52 really got manufactured poorly. I was surprised that the tiny red line got unglued on mine and though "oh well. I must've used it wrongly" but then I found on that timestamp that yours is coming off too.

    Just bought and I love mine!! Can do a quick and easy vacuum of entire house in between major cleaning with Miele canister. With three dogs, this is such a wonderful convenience. It’s so light and the suction is great. If I hurry, I can do 2000 sq ft on one charge, with lots of carpet, hardwood and tile. Only minor complaint is the small canister and airborne dust when emptying. Will wear a mask in the future. I looked at other larger Dyson models and none were nearly as comfortable in my hand. I plan to purchase a second battery so I can take a little more time in certain areas.

    The v12 changed my mind about dyson. It works. Very well. The laser thing...works. The powerhead...works. The only gripe. It fills the dist canister fast. Real fine dust, hair and esp pet hair from even clean carpet. The two heads fit well to the wall unit too.

    Hey guy, sorry to hear you been under the weather. Get well soon ! I’ve been a vac guy for years, tho not professional. Mostly, I get vacs at the dumpsters. I take them apart, clean, sanitize, and get new filters for them. One of my favorite modern vacs is the Dyson upright ball. Old school - def the Electrolux classic. Anyway, I have refurbed two Dyson cordless - sv9, and more recently a v10. Two glaring things I do not like are the small canister, and difficult disassembly for deep cleaning. But I suppose like most modern appliances, they are “disposable”. I guess that’s ok if you can afford a new one every two years - Yikes !

    New to Dyson but just bought a v15 detect. A couple things I learned for others debating between the two
    There are $10 trigger locks for the v15 that change it to on/off instead of the pull trigger. They slide right on with no modification. So if the trigger is holding you back, there’s a solution.
    The v12 being a slim model doesn’t work with all heads from other models. If you have multiple dysons it may be worth consideration.
    I contemplated returning the v15 for the v12 but really like the extra size bin and extra power. I’m a 40yo guy that stands 6’3 but also has a bad back and carpel tunnel in my right hand. I would definitely appreciate a lighter model but the v15 has been great so far. Might get one of the smaller models later on for daily use and keep the v15 for full house cleans. Costco has the v15 on sale often for around $550 usd with 90 day returns.

    I just ordered the V12. I went to Best Buy to try it out physically and talk to the rep onsite. Thanks for the review! I have a husky and I was tired of dragging out my heavy and old but good Kirby diamond series. I also like the slim because I have lot of smaller area that's just too hard to reach with my Kirby because you need to remove the head and installed the hose to the Kirby.

    This is such a great, overall good review. I appreciate all the time and energy you put into making this video. My husband bought me this vacuum for Christmas. I had wanted a new Dyson, but I hadn’t researched into a the new Dyson models in over 3 years. I bought the Dyson V 10 about three years ago and it’s been a great vacuum! It’s definitely made me fall in love with the Dyson brand for sure. But unfortunately, I’ve used the vacuum so much, it’s pretty much toast! The lever to empty the trash barely works, I have to mess with it every time I go to empty the vacuum. Also, my battery is operating at about 50%. Those have both been recent breakdowns into my v10 vacuum, so I knew it was time for another one. I was a little irritated at my husband for not even asking me which specific model I had wanted, especially when spending over $500 of our hard earned money, but I won’t go into that, lol! How does one complain about such a nice Christmas gift?!
    But after listening to your review, I feel so much better about having this new vacuum. I think it’s going to work out just fine for me and my particular needs. I think it will be nice to have a slimmer, more light vacuum. I always hated the fact that a cordless vacuum is always going to be super top heavy. I’ve got another cordless vacuums and realized Dyson was actually on the light side of “top heavy”, but it’s still nice to get something lighter than the “usual” Dyson model. Also, I personally love the fact that this model doesn’t have the pull trigger when vacuuming. Call me a wimp, but it bothered my fingers for sure! That’s actually probably what makes me the happiest about getting this vacuum, is learning that the V 15 doesn’t even have this feature! The only thing that worries me about this vacuum is the trash bin looks very small. I guess I will just have to get in there and find out. I still haven’t used the vacuum yet. I wanted to research it and be 100% sure I wanted it before turning it on and getting it all dirty.

    Thank you for this thorough review. I am debating between the V 12 and the V 15. I have watched a couple of other reviews and I guess what I have to offer other readers is that our use case is a large home with multi surface floors, two kids and one cat. We didn’t have a problem with the dust bin filling up on our previous Dyson V7. We use the cordless vac for quick touchups around the kitchen and dining area. I believe lightweight and push button outweighs heavier, and larger dustbin in our case. I want our little kids to learn to help us with this task, too.
    Question: if you purchase an extra battery, and you have the charger connected to the wall mount, how do you keep the extra battery charged when the charger is being used for the main unit?

    • @VacuumAdvisor
      @VacuumAdvisor  2 года назад +1

      These are from the reviews I've done over the years on each Dyson cordless. At the time of each review the data were either found from an official source online (Dyson.com usually) or by contacting Dyson directly. The figures are from the time the review was performed. They would not take into account any suction power changes Dyson may have made to different models over the years (if indeed they have).

      @@VacuumAdvisor What stands out to me is how the Eco and Medium on the V12 are both worse than the Low on the V8. Assuming the Max setting is almost never used on either model, would you recommend the V12 over a brand new V8?

    The medium settings bothers me a lot. Medium with 35 or 40 would be great, but 23… its only half the power of the V15. With the powered heads its not so big of a problem, but with the small suction tube for example or if you want to vacuum dust with the brush it will be a big different. A test like that is really missing.

      @Clove_Parma 2 года назад

      All current Dyson models meet or exceed the requirements for the HEPA claim through the multiple filtration stages (metal mesh, pre filter, cyclones, post filter etc), but they stopped calling it HEPA as it was causing customers to think that the filter itself was HEPA grade which it was not. The models that have a cyan coloured filter however do include a specific filter which by itself is HEPA. The models with cyan HEPA filters will capture particles down to 0.1 microns vs 0.3 on the purple filters.

    Good evaluation but all of the test are done at a crawl speed.. At those speed, it would take my wife a week to clean the floors !. Suction capacity is very important to consider. Especially if you already have an absolute V-8. The V-8 in eco mode has a better suction capacity compared to the V-12 ! This,is the deal breaker! The only reason Dyson is slowing the speed of the V12 is to get the target one hour of operation.. And yes.. it dose, but the V8 absolute is already missing some suction capacity at the eco. I thought that V-12 would hit it out of the ball park.. ? That means it's less efficient than the previous model (V8 absolute) In my opinion.. It's not worth changing for a new less efficient model. Thanks for the evaluation It help me make my decision.

    Guys listen to the reviews.
    I just bought the v12 detect and it has the same issue that you, and many people online/on RUclips have reported about it with all the cordless Dyson models. The brush motor roller just stops working when on my high pile carpet. I’ve even heard people having issues on door mats and corridor mats. Seems like Dyson help is to tell us to use our £500+ vacuums on its lowest settings which is nonsensical. How about they design a product which actually justifies the high price.
    “engineered and tested to effectively clean a wide variety of floor coverings, including different types and lengths of carpeting”.
    Sure..

    Thank you for your help! Dyson will not help at all!! Their customer service is the absolute worst, it really is shockingly BAD!!

    I have owned the V12 for 2 years and I strongly discourage anyone considering buying it. The vacuum works fine, but Dyson does not stock replacement parts. During my entire ownership, the replacement filter has not once been in sock once and now Dyson doesn’t even list it for purchase on their website.

    Seriously dude? 112 videos and not a single bagged machine? How can you call yourself an advisor and not show the inherently superior design?

      Underrated comment lmao
      Nothing reviewed on this so called "advisor" channel is worth buying, clearly just another cash grab review channel like VacuumWars

    My husband asked what do I want for my 76th birthday, I said a Dyson V12 Slim Vacuum, he said but you have 5 vacuums, I told him not like this cordless lightweight magic broom 😂
