I used to play a game like this with basketball. Make the shot take a step back when you miss take ten from that distance. Training games are better than just training
I use slices of pool noodles stuck to the butt. Works beautifully and lasts longer than the cup for the same size. Also it's slightly 3d in itself, but does the job 😁

I’ve been shooting my morning coffee cups for 10 years. I think humans/animal’s eyes can lock on 3d objects easier than flat paper prints. I know mine can.
