This video made me go "awwww"!As someone who loves all things cute, collecting anime figures is in a way an extension of it. I love anime and what it has taught me. It opened my mind to new experiences, motivated and cheered me up when I was down. Getting anime figures make me happy because it means I can have my favorite characters who I love close to me. Life can get stressful and tiring, but when I come to my room and I'm surrounded by everything I love, I'm reminded of what these characters stand for and get inspired. It makes me forget the stress and can relax. It's kind of like therapy for me.
I like/love collecting my friend's origamis. She always makes a tons of origamis and when she's done, she just give it to me and keep them.....(what a memories)
Nendoroids are so cool because they allow you to make many different poses as opposed to scales which only have one pose and you can also switch pieces of your nendoroids with other nendoroids and create a whole new version of your favorite characters.
This was a nice video. It reminded me of why I like collecting horse models. I like their colors and molds that can look so realistic. Even if they're called "toys" which makes people think it's a childish thing to collect them, there's a lot more to it than that and that goes for every collector. You enjoy collecting new models of your favorite breed or color or famous horse. Breyer specifically has lots of models dedicated to real life horses and during BreyerFest (I guess you can call it similar to a convention) you can meet some of those horses and look at the model of them in your hand and look up to see the living, breathing creature that inspired the model. BreyerFest is 3 days of celebrating horses and you can see and learn so much from basic breed introduction to trick riding and competitions (horseball was super fun to watch! Also when they had full armor jousting) and you actually have fun standing in line to get the special models of that year cause each year they have a theme and then design models around that theme. It's a driving force for me to collect cause not only can I work on photography with the models, I can also respect and learn about the breed or horse and what they've accomplished
wow that's pretty awesome! And that's pretty cool you can have a model of a horse and see the real life version of that horse. Imagine if you could do that with anime characters haha.

Before I started to collect nendoroids, playing videogames was my hobby. I'm usually updated to every game news and releases but with having less and less time to play all the games I have bought. I just came to a point that I can't keep up with all the awesome games that are being released. So I had a tough decision of changing hobbies, and eventually I found nendoroid collecting to be the answer. Games and Nendoroids both cost a lot but with nendoroids, it doesn't demand any time to actually enjoy them. I can even enjoy them by just looking at them while I lie in bed after work. :)
I had the same problem you had, I would buy games and never play them cause I didn't have the time. But I didn't want to stop playing games either. I don't know where you live, but if you're in the United States my solution was gamefly. I can rent a game and when I'm done I can just send it back and they'll send another one. I'm actually playing more games now then when I first started collecting. And at 17 bucks a month for as many games I can play is a lot better than 60 bucks for just one game.
Excellent video! I know people subscribe for your reviews (and rightfully so) but what makes me stay are these little videos that you share about yourself. You are such a positive light, and just so much fun. I've also always been a collector and I find people either get it or just really really don't understand collecting. Also, nothing wrong with loving cute things, and I say that about all things (cute, scary, gore, dirty, etc). You gotta do what makes you happy! and you make others happy, well done sir

i collect figures because i really love art. i see them as statues and art peices. I really love nendroids because they are also toys, so i can play with them and have fun!
Oh, congrats on hitting 3K! I also like collecting nendoroids because I think they are too cute. I was the kid with a black trench coat, long black boots, and a pentagram necklace when I was in high school, so it's hard to believe but cute things are just too cute! I later found out that some people thought I was a Satanist and super scary when I was in HS, it's kind of amusing because I'm not scary at all. XD I also love the poseability, but lets be real here... I'm pretty sure most of us put them in one pose and don't mess it up unless we want to take pictures, haha. It's always fun to see your openings, I can tell you put effort in them to try to make them as funny as can be. Collecting is also something I have done since young, I still have a box filled with Yu-Gi-Oh cards somewhere in the depths of my closet. Keep up the great work, Dave!

Why not? They’re cute, chibi. You can collect and display a lot of them in one small space. They’re so worth the money, looking at the processes that go into making just one nendoroid. Even if you’re not into series that some nendoroids come from, you can still collect them because you love how cute/handsome they are. It’s brilliant

Currently my collecting habits have changed drastically. Going from Marvel/DC figures + Transformers...to a few SH Figuarts+ Figma...now it's turning into Nendoroids! Currently oogling Meta Knight and both Saber/Gilgamesh from Fate/Stay. Nendos are perfect because they're small (but not too small) and you can sit them on a shelf with a quick pose, then admire them! Plus if you bump into them they may be less likely to fall over (varies per figure I know) as opposed to larger figures. Lastly the price point makes me think carefully before I buy and I only get those I really like.
I started collecting nendos because of you i think. But i fell in love with Ryuko first and then Aqua. I couldnt buy Ryuko so i preordered Aqua, and then the first i actually owned first was Chitoge. I just loved how cute she looked and with her tsun pose i just wanted her too. I also recently started researching how to edit videos, equipment and all the good stuff. My videos will be about my nendos too, manga, light novels and videogames. However im a million lightyears away to be good as you. My vids are pathetic but im having fun making them and learning as i go through. Anyways i wanted to say thanks for all the hints and help you have given me. Keep up the good work.
I know this is a 4 year old video but I happened to see it in my recommended, even tho I've been a subscriber, recently I've been doubting myself on and off about how I like nendoroids about what others would think of me and how humiliated others would make me feel and I felt a deep shame and embarrassment to where I wouldn't even dare to let anyone know I liked anything anime-wise but seeing this video has really struck that fire for how much I love these little nendoroids, so I'm deciding to get some nendoroids and make my collection bigger and start collecting again, because who cares what others think, this is my hobby, and not theirs to judge so I'm gonna do what makes me happy! I have a very very small (literally two nendoroids) just because when I started getting into them that's what I had and I love them a lot so I'm gonna try to make my collection bigger and I hope if anyone else is going through this and needs to hear this, well hear ya go!

I really like the Madoka Magica Nendoroid. I really like the show. It's so tragic, but it's advertised as being really kawaii. I get stuff off of Amazon, so Figmas are WAYYY out of my little budget. But with the 20-30 pound Nendoroids, I could probably collect much more of them quicker. :3
I love collecting :) Nendos are great because they all look like a collection even though all the characters are from completely different worlds! And with their different face plates and accessories, I feel like they're a true embodiment of the character not some static object. They're charming!
I like to collect nendoroids because they have a meaning behind them to me, Madoka Magica nendoroids for empowerment and kindness; Kill la Kill nendoroids for empowerment and strength ... etc. I collect prints to remind me of the cons I've been to and the art is always fabulous, though those are easier to keep under control, collection-wise! I love Nendoroids too!!! I have all the Zelda and almost all Pokémon Nendoroids. And I have Harry Potter (three first)! I think my collection will be bigger. I also loved collecting things as a child~ I love the different poses, faces and accessories too. It means it never gets boring like static figures! I wish there were no bootleg Nendoroids though. I haven't seen them yet, and I hope I never will!!! I also love how eg. Marvel Nendoroids resemble the actors' faces really well, it amazes me how they do that transformation to the chibi-format!
I love nenderoids so much aaaaa, but since I’m a broke school student I only own an eren mikasa and Levi nendoroid, I’m currently searching for the banana fish nendoroids! They’re honestly super cute. Nenderoids are genuinely perfect for making customs as well! I love an anime called Mirai Nikki and Yuno only has one figure which is super overpriced- (one sold on yja for 251001 yen!) so I’m thinking of making a custom nendo of her. Love your collection!
I collect a variety of things myself such as Dolls (Variety), Pokemon tcg, Disney belle, hatchimals collectables, now I am starting to collect nendroids. I just preordered my first one which is Belle.
On the topic on nendoroid, I fixed my sisters Kinata nendoroid yesterday, she's from Lucky Star! She broke 2 years ago, and she thought she wouldn't see her fixed ever again, but I fixed her, she just has to be careful,though, she's leaning against so,etching since she has one leg up and one leg on the floor. And I have the mini ones, you can move their head, but you can't really pose them. They're all Vocaloid and I don't know where two are from, gotta figure that out.
I love collecting and the art style on nendoroids is so perfect compared to chibi arts and other companies where they are slightly too big/small/wide/skinny.

- Nendoroid : the most action figure that i love,because the design is cute and it's fun to play,you can change any kind of pose you want. - Figma :quite like this kind of action figure,but i don't like with the joint hand of figma,it looks a little bit weird to me. -Scale Figure/Price Figure : every time i buy pvc i just feeling good at the start when unboxing it,but after that it's looks boring because you can't change the pose like figma or nendoroid,and the price of course(for scale figure),it's better if i buy 2 nendoroids than just 1 scale figure which i can't change the pose lol.
I bought many nendoroids after watching your reviews. They're amazing! Now I moved to collecting Sailor Moon merch only as everything is so expensive and can not have everything xD I still collect the must have nendoroids for me, like the disney ones that they announced and the Hatsune Miku versions! There's a Sailor Moon variant from MegaHouse that is pretty much like a Nendoroid (Just saying since you mentioned you love her as well!). Thank you for your hard work!
So I collect both anime figures and nendoroids, nendoroids are just so fun to take photographs on and switch faceplates and all that stuff! It's so fun :3 and they're just so cute, and anime figures are just so stunning to look at. But since I'm only 17 and I live alone in my small appartment, I go to art collage I can't really afford nendoroids often. Like the Rin and Len harvest moon nendos I want them so bad !! And the re releases of the kill la kill nendos. But I won't be able to get them. So that's kinda sad
I love collecting items as well. Especially anime merch and I love Nendoroids too. I already have 2 of them (a kimono Hastune Miku and Ciel Phantomhive) and I hope to get more soon. But since I'm still a teenager I always have to find ways to convince my parents or to get money. And my parents don't like the fact I collect things they think it's unnecessary and waists money. I feel you on learning how to play Pokemon card game, I went to an event to learn, and still can't play. I love nendoroids because they are so cute and I can get like 3 or 4 nendoroids for the cost of one scale figure. They also make nendoroids of characters that we may never get scale figures of.

There's also the Cu-Poche line made by Kotobukiya, of Frame Arms Girl frame. It's very similar to Nendoroid except they have more articulations as if it's Nendoroid and Figma combined.

I buy the vast majority of my nendoroids on amiami, also did a buying guide video on it. Shipping can be expensive though. Expensive shipping is just something you have to live with when importing from another country.
I collect keychains. I have so many of them. Why? because they are less expensive and require less room :P I love collecting my favorite characters. Nice video btw My first ever Nendoroid Rin from Little Busters. I love her character and her nendoroid so much
I started collecting them after buying the Shomin Sample set from Good Smile, Miyuki is one of my all time favorite character and i wanted anything for her.
I began to collect nendoroids when i saw Miku Senbonzakura. she was so cute with her little bike. i love hatsune miku so i collect all sorts of figures of her but i admit i really love nendoroids.
Nendo Now there are so many Miku ! i'm not even close to have them all. It's not very easy to find nendoroids in my small town in France (thank you internet). Anyway i love your videos and your passion for those cuties. Keep on the good work
One of the things you should mention and its the reason I like to collect them is cost Not to bag on scale figure collectors, but they are very expensive. As opposed to nendoroids which can be had for $30-100 depending on the character/rarity. So you get more bang for the buck, and can get more of them.
Another good video, but you make it sound like your not happy collecting nendoroids, I feel like you thinks it's a waste of money at times, I collect and use to just buy any nendoroid I thought looked nice but that use to break my budget so I now I only buy the ones I have a connection too like I played the game or watched the anime and it really help me too save money and have more fun collecting cuz you appreciate the ones you do have, hopes this helps and keep it up Dave!! Hope your going to anime expo this year in LA!!!
Oh I definitely think it's a waste of money haha and it doesn't always make me happy, but I still love it and that's what matters, I think? lol. But I'm like you now, I need to just focus on the characters I know and love, and that will at least help with the cost. Though I'm still buying figures of characters I don't know haha.
I just recently bought my first nendoroid! At fist I thought they were overpriced but I saw a megumin nendoroid and I just had to have it. Totally worth it!
I never really got into the expensive $150+ figures. I like to look at them but like you, I tend to gravitate toward cute things that make me smile. Nendoroids just happen to fit nicely with this interest haha.
Exactly...i was never a fan of cute things but for some reason i have liked more these chibi/nendoroids versions of my favorite characters than commom figures and i dont know why ahha

Excellent video! I know people subscribe for your reviews (and rightfully so) but what makes me stay are these little videos that you share about yourself. You are such a positive light, and just so much fun. I've also always been a collector and I find people either get it or just really really don't understand collecting. Also, nothing wrong with loving cute things, and I say that about all things (cute, scary, gore, dirty, etc). You gotta do what makes you happy! and you make others happy, well done sir

i collect figures because i really love art. i see them as statues and art peices. I really love nendroids because they are also toys, so i can play with them and have fun!

I was the kid with a black trench coat, long black boots, and a pentagram necklace when I was in high school, so it's hard to believe but cute things are just too cute! I later found out that some people thought I was a Satanist and super scary when I was in HS, it's kind of amusing because I'm not scary at all. XD
I also love the poseability, but lets be real here... I'm pretty sure most of us put them in one pose and don't mess it up unless we want to take pictures, haha.
It's always fun to see your openings, I can tell you put effort in them to try to make them as funny as can be. Collecting is also something I have done since young, I still have a box filled with Yu-Gi-Oh cards somewhere in the depths of my closet.

Why not? They’re cute, chibi. You can collect and display a lot of them in one small space. They’re so worth the money, looking at the processes that go into making just one nendoroid. Even if you’re not into series that some nendoroids come from, you can still collect them because you love how cute/handsome they are. It’s brilliant

It's Joker of Persona 5 by the way! I'm so excited!!! ☺ I love your videos by the way! Keep up the good work!
Currently my collecting habits have changed drastically. Going from Marvel/DC figures + Transformers...to a few SH Figuarts+ Figma...now it's turning into Nendoroids! Currently oogling Meta Knight and both Saber/Gilgamesh from Fate/Stay.
Nendos are perfect because they're small (but not too small) and you can sit them on a shelf with a quick pose, then admire them! Plus if you bump into them they may be less likely to fall over (varies per figure I know) as opposed to larger figures.
Lastly the price point makes me think carefully before I buy and I only get those I really like.
I just got Meta Knight in, and he looks pretty awesome!!

I started collecting nendos because of you i think. But i fell in love with Ryuko first and then Aqua. I couldnt buy Ryuko so i preordered Aqua, and then the first i actually owned first was Chitoge. I just loved how cute she looked and with her tsun pose i just wanted her too.
I also recently started researching how to edit videos, equipment and all the good stuff. My videos will be about my nendos too, manga, light novels and videogames. However im a million lightyears away to be good as you. My vids are pathetic but im having fun making them and learning as i go through.
Anyways i wanted to say thanks for all the hints and help you have given me.

I know this is a 4 year old video but I happened to see it in my recommended, even tho I've been a subscriber, recently I've been doubting myself on and off about how I like nendoroids about what others would think of me and how humiliated others would make me feel and I felt a deep shame and embarrassment to where I wouldn't even dare to let anyone know I liked anything anime-wise but seeing this video has really struck that fire for how much I love these little nendoroids, so I'm deciding to get some nendoroids and make my collection bigger and start collecting again, because who cares what others think, this is my hobby, and not theirs to judge so I'm gonna do what makes me happy! I have a very very small (literally two nendoroids) just because when I started getting into them that's what I had and I love them a lot so I'm gonna try to make my collection bigger and I hope if anyone else is going through this and needs to hear this, well hear ya go!

hey Dave, I'm travelling in the Philippines and came across this Rin Tohsaka Nendoroid in this mall here..this was my first purchase and seeing this vid is rather inspiring for me. I think I have to go back to the mall and pick up my own Aqua Nendoroid as well hahaha.

I really like the Madoka Magica Nendoroid. I really like the show. It's so tragic, but it's advertised as being really kawaii. I get stuff off of Amazon, so Figmas are WAYYY out of my little budget. But with the 20-30 pound Nendoroids, I could probably collect much more of them quicker. :3

I love collecting :) Nendos are great because they all look like a collection even though all the characters are from completely different worlds! And with their different face plates and accessories, I feel like they're a true embodiment of the character not some static object. They're charming!

I like to collect nendoroids because they have a meaning behind them to me, Madoka Magica nendoroids for empowerment and kindness; Kill la Kill nendoroids for empowerment and strength ... etc. I collect prints to remind me of the cons I've been to and the art is always fabulous, though those are easier to keep under control, collection-wise! I always love your videos Dave thank you for working so hard for all of us!

I love Nendoroids too!!! I have all the Zelda and almost all Pokémon Nendoroids. And I have Harry Potter (three first)! I think my collection will be bigger. I also loved collecting things as a child~ I love the different poses, faces and accessories too. It means it never gets boring like static figures! I wish there were no bootleg Nendoroids though. I haven't seen them yet, and I hope I never will!!! I also love how eg. Marvel Nendoroids resemble the actors' faces really well, it amazes me how they do that transformation to the chibi-format!
I love nenderoids so much aaaaa, but since I’m a broke school student I only own an eren mikasa and Levi nendoroid, I’m currently searching for the banana fish nendoroids! They’re honestly super cute. Nenderoids are genuinely perfect for making customs as well! I love an anime called Mirai Nikki and Yuno only has one figure which is super overpriced- (one sold on yja for 251001 yen!) so I’m thinking of making a custom nendo of her. Love your collection!

I collect a variety of things myself such as Dolls (Variety), Pokemon tcg, Disney belle, hatchimals collectables, now I am starting to collect nendroids. I just preordered my first one which is Belle.

On the topic on nendoroid, I fixed my sisters Kinata nendoroid yesterday, she's from Lucky Star!
She broke 2 years ago, and she thought she wouldn't see her fixed ever again, but I fixed her, she just has to be careful,though, she's leaning against so,etching since she has one leg up and one leg on the floor.
And I have the mini ones, you can move their head, but you can't really pose them.
They're all Vocaloid and I don't know where two are from, gotta figure that out.

- Nendoroid : the most action figure that i love,because the design is cute and it's fun to play,you can change any kind of pose you want.
- Figma :quite like this kind of action figure,but i don't like with the joint hand of figma,it looks a little bit weird to me.
-Scale Figure/Price Figure : every time i buy pvc i just feeling good at the start when unboxing it,but after that it's looks boring because you can't change the pose like figma or nendoroid,and the price of course(for scale figure),it's better if i buy 2 nendoroids than just 1 scale figure which i can't change the pose lol.

I bought many nendoroids after watching your reviews. They're amazing! Now I moved to collecting Sailor Moon merch only as everything is so expensive and can not have everything xD I still collect the must have nendoroids for me, like the disney ones that they announced and the Hatsune Miku versions! There's a Sailor Moon variant from MegaHouse that is pretty much like a Nendoroid (Just saying since you mentioned you love her as well!). Thank you for your hard work!

So I collect both anime figures and nendoroids, nendoroids are just so fun to take photographs on and switch faceplates and all that stuff! It's so fun :3 and they're just so cute, and anime figures are just so stunning to look at. But since I'm only 17 and I live alone in my small appartment, I go to art collage I can't really afford nendoroids often. Like the Rin and Len harvest moon nendos I want them so bad !! And the re releases of the kill la kill nendos. But I won't be able to get them. So that's kinda sad

I love collecting items as well. Especially anime merch and I love Nendoroids too. I already have 2 of them (a kimono Hastune Miku and Ciel Phantomhive) and I hope to get more soon. But since I'm still a teenager I always have to find ways to convince my parents or to get money. And my parents don't like the fact I collect things they think it's unnecessary and waists money. But I'm still going strong and I hope to sell tons of my older things for newer items to collect :).

I feel you on learning how to play Pokemon card game, I went to an event to learn, and still can't play. I love nendoroids because they are so cute and I can get like 3 or 4 nendoroids for the cost of one scale figure. They also make nendoroids of characters that we may never get scale figures of.

There's also the Cu-Poche line made by Kotobukiya, of Frame Arms Girl frame. It's very similar to Nendoroid except they have more articulations as if it's Nendoroid and Figma combined.
I have two Cu-poche. I don't really like to collect them though cause I don't like joints on figures.

I buy the vast majority of my nendoroids on amiami, also did a buying guide video on it. Shipping can be expensive though. Expensive shipping is just something you have to live with when importing from another country.
I collect keychains. I have so many of them. Why? because they are less expensive and require less room :P I love collecting my favorite characters. Nice video btw My first ever Nendoroid Rin from Little Busters. I love her character and her nendoroid so much

Not to bag on scale figure collectors, but they are very expensive. As opposed to nendoroids which can be had for $30-100 depending on the character/rarity. So you get more bang for the buck, and can get more of them.

I never really got into the expensive $150+ figures. I like to look at them but like you, I tend to gravitate toward cute things that make me smile. Nendoroids just happen to fit nicely with this interest haha.
