So nice to hear again'' When i was a child i would hear Color me Gone in the garage fire up all the time ' He lived at the end of my street' warren mi 13 mile n Ryan rd area '' and at time's would run her through halmich park where his drive way lined up with the park's drive way on 13 mile, and open her up about 1/4 mile to Chicago road, Early 1970's the park shut Color me Gone down by putting in speed bump's .. An i wish to be my older brother' As he used to hand him tool's when he was working on Color me Gone in his garage, Those were the good old day's ''''
Wow awesome memories for all of you.I have family on 14 mile rd.Everyone worked at the ford plants back in the day.I send you my best Chip and hope all is well buddy.Jim,ohio
I used to live one mile from Halmich Park not too far from Roger's house. I loved all of the Color Me Gone cars, (though I never cared for the song their name came from), and I loved Hodge's Dodges Ramchargers. In my opinion, those were the best years for drag racing - in any class.
I remember this car by it's original owner who lived only a few streets over from me. Used to play by his house as a kid. Roger Lindamood was a very successful driver for many years on the circuit.
Color Me Gone was my favorite race car. The rumor back then was that the Dodge's were faster than the Plymouth's because they were 50 pounds heavier and it was all in the rear. All I remember is that Mopar ruled 64-65. The other thing that was unique was that most cars under hard acceleration would transfer weight from the front to the rear. The Dodge/Plymouth race cars just seemed to raise up at all four corners and GO.
The original "Color Me Gone" cars were all driven by Roger Lindamood in the mid '60's to mid 70's. All of his cars were Mopars of virtually every model, and were all named "Color Me Gone". He spent many weekends at the US131 Raceway Park in Martin, MI., the Detroit Dragway, and the Motor City Dragway as well. Both the Detroit dragways are long gone, but Martin is alive and doing extremely well. Nice vid.
I was 13 in 1964. used to sneak in Detroit Dragway under fence on pit side or ask a couple to say we were their little brothers! Every week, nothing but great memories.
SOO Much wheelspin at the line;-( softer shocks/springs and wider tires would do wonders. I'd take only of these or the Belverderes, a 68 Hurst hemi, a new Demon and a, T/A 2.0 or ACR viper if I had my dream garage;-) And have a 68-69 Roadrunner for a daily driver or a 1970 hemi cuda;-)
BIGBADWOOD puds had the worst body and frame design out there they were garbage. A lot of them got crushed not worth fixing when they started rotting out. Leaf springs would go thru the trunk floor tops of the fenders rot out they were just a pile of shit just like the rustang or the rusters. They were made cheap cheap cheap
One of the best sounding hot rods I've ever heard. I'm building one right now.1/25 scale that is!!!!!!! :-)
Patty Hays
I,ve built one myself some years ago, hope you had fun doing it
Starting mine as I type!!!😁
Wow! That thing sounds killer! What a beautiful piece of mopar history.....
O my love the 64 and I'm only 30 years old these cars started it all !!

14 Adam 27: As We used to say "It shot and got".
Remember "Color me Gone" when I was a teenager. Does anyone remember "LANDYS DODGE"

Correct on Lindamood!

I built a model like this car and it's really nice. Those older dodges and Plymouths are my favorites.
High 9s and was smoking the rear tires down the track
Thanks for bringing so many good memories back.
The rear end used to lift when it had leaf spring and they came out hard. The 55 would noticed the dodge launch.
Brings a tear to my eye.
As I absolute Mopar fan since I was a teenager back in the early seventies absolutely beautiful
Awesome....love 64 hemi Dodges.
Only vehicles I hear on the street with big cams now are low-rider trucks. Turns my head. Makes me miss my drag race days. Wahnah!
How bout it!👍
LOVE the Hemis !
Wow! The sound really recorded good! Most of the time the cam and header music does not combine that clear in recordings.
That Tri-5 at 3:30 looks like a show car street cruiser...then gets on it pretty good!
great looking and even better sounding
I have this plastic 1/25 scale model by Lindberg. It is really sharp and one of my favorite Dodge models.
Fuckin send it!!!!!! True mopars are the best!!
Its a shame he didn't stick with the original leaf spring rear end - coil over shocks kinda looks wrong on such a great tribute car.
Yes Sir
You can't fault his results. Awesome launch.
Looks beautiful. Sounds glorious

Awesome.
love me some Mopar ..Mopar Militia 2016
Where are you located? Roger was my cousin.
North West Indiana
When your car name reminds old men of plastic models that they built as a kid..
I had a 64, but it was a Polara and alas - it was a 383.....
VICIOUS
That 55 is pretty ........... pretty slow next to that HEMI !! LOL !!
Nice, but gotta get it to hook better.
I will have one
Always a problem with a Hemi, nothing getting the tires to hook even with an automatic. It is even worse with a 4-speed.
It is a 4speed car
Ah when cars were cars none of that hellcat crap
Mopar crush the Chevy
I love Roger Lindamood's Color Me Gone Dodge!!! Please check out my 512 stroker powered 1968 Barracuda fastback. I think you'll approve. 👍
I'll have to check it out!
i want to see this vs the new demon, as the demon only has 4 more hp
It would come down to the driver
*Color Me Gone*??
Errr...I remember Roland Leong's 'Color Me Gone' Funny Car Back in the '70's...is this a 're-incarnation'...or WTF?
Not sure good question
Roland Leong cars were the Hawaiian
cool
Rat, rat,rat... that's horsepower .
😅this thing would crush the demon 170
NASTY THUMPIN CAM MAKE HEMI PLAY NOT PLAY WELL WITH OTHERS!
Puds made some of the ugliest cars ever seen like this one.
