I think I learned from other of her newer videos that if you do the links for the tabs under the edit layout for the master slide, you don’t need to do each slide individually like shown on this video (6:45 ish). Or maybe it was my mistake but it works. Saves a lot of time.
Bear In Mind Planner Co. it’s such a hard call, It makes planners so much more realistic but it also takes so much longer! Let me know what you end up going with!
Mariel, hoping you can give me a bit of advice. Rather than a tab, I designed my planner with buttons. Using the master slide, I have had no problem altering the color of the button to indicate the active page, or (in theory, the turnable tab). But, for the ones that I designed (same master), with icon images eg, stars etc, when I apply the color as I did on the buttons with text, the icon changes color, NOT the button color. Suggestion? Thank You so much for any help you or your subscribers might offer.
I’m not 100% sure I understand the question. If your on Instagram your more then welcome to send me a pic and maybe I can answer better. But when you are changing the color are you doing it in the master slide? In order to do the turnaable tab idea aka have them change colors you need to have multiple master templates and make the change in their not the slide it self. Maybe that helps?
I just did this with my digital planner! Great tips! I am running into a big issue of not have enough master slides available. I’d like to do a cover page, index page, and then the 12 months master slides, but Keynote seems to only offer 13 master slides that I can edit. I am working on an iPad. Any advice on this?!
Thank you for sharing this video. I followed along with you but I got a little lost right before we started to add the link. I understand how to add the link but my question is what happen to the master slide that I have with my non turnable Jan-Dec master slide. I would like my planner to have that as the first page before we get into the turnable tabs. How do I incorporate that with my turnable tab master slides. I hope this made sense to you.
Thanks, Mariel, I was wondering how to do this ☺️ Is it possible to do it in the Keynote iPad app? I have a feeling that the desktop version has more features than the app.
Elaine Bastajian it is possible to a certain degree. There are more options on the desktop. I actually have plans to make a video about building a planner just on the iPad. One of the challenging parts is your can angle text so when I make planner on my iPad I have to stick with upper tabs.
You have to hover over the link spot and wait until you see the hand appear. For some reason, the links end up REALLY small in keynote. But when you export it as a PDF it will be much easier. Also double-check no items are grouped.
No social media. Planner design and Buttons were created directly in Master Slide. For monthly buttons all I needed to do was copy the button from the Master, go2 the appropriate monthly slide for that month and paste it to that slide, formating the (new active button color). The button color changed as desired, text for the month remained as designed. But for images (rather than text) on the buttons, the same process resulted in the image/icons having their color changed, not the button itself. Trying my best. Clear as Mud??? Thanks
Can you recommend somewhere to buy a template already done that I can then customise myself for sale. So a template diary that we are able to customise? Or recommend where to look?
@@MORDesigns Thanks! I did it last night, but I have been at it all day, today, but I can't remember how I did it. Nothing is working. That's what happens when you get old :'(
Robin Hendrickson the process is fairly similar on your iPad. I actually have another video on my channel where I made on just on my iPad- that might help you out!
@@MORDesigns This is where I am stuck, too! I'm having a hard time following this one. :'( I'll keep watching it until, hopefully, I get it :) Glad it's not just me
This was an older vision- I have since updated so I plan to make a new video. I will say everything works the same but the buttons are just in different places.
There is no max for a number of tabs. There is a limit on file sizes for GoodNotes... not sure what it is but it’s large! I will warn you bigger planners do start to lag a bit.
For some reason, I can not get this one. The beginning has me very confused. I've watched it over and over. Any suggestions to make it easier to understand. I can't get the c&p of the master slide.
It’s harder that’s for sure. Essentially you are making one master slide for each section of your planner. As silly as this sounds I actually had a physical tabbed notebook out and was flipping the tabs as I worked to give myself the visual of tabs moving from one side to the next. Hope that helps you out! Ps- it seems ur living on my channel ❤️❤️❤️❤️ love it!
@@MORDesigns I don’t think it’s necessarily the tabs but what you did in the beginning. So, do I just open the original MS copy and paste it to a blank and move it to the top? And I do that BEFORE I link my pages? I'm sorry for all of the questions
@@jcoleRRT I think I see what you asking about... around the two minute mark right? Those are all master slides not regular slides. You make your first master slide just like other videos then copy and past all of that to a new master slide but move the tab. Do this for each section.
Best description and tutorial on 'tunable tabs' that I have see yet! Thanks!

What a gift, thank you!
This was great - I can't wait to make my flippable tabs.
I've been searching for weeks on how to do this. Thank you for sharing - clear instructions - very informative 📔❤️
Pamela Costello I’m so thrilled you found my channel! I hope it helps you create wonderful planners!
Very helpful! Thank you
Can't wait to see how you do this.
It isn’t to hard, just time consuming!
Great tips here! I have been working on a new planner and was debating on doing this. That is for the info!!
Bear In Mind Planner Co. it’s such a hard call,
It makes planners so much more realistic but it also takes so much longer! Let me know what you end up going with!
You re a genius
Thank you for sharing!!! I have been wondering how to do this. This is awesome.
Sheila Turner once you get the hang of it - it’s pretty easy! Then the creative side gets to come through!
Super helpful! Thank you so much!

Just duplicate a master slide. Right click on your master slide on the left hand section and it should pop up with duplicate

FYI - I have a video on this now :)
MOR Designs Thanks, I just saw this 👍🏻 I’ll watch it now ☺️
P.S. I changed my user name 😊
Thank you so much! Issue I’m having when I play...the tabs don’t follow the slide links but rather it just clicks through to the next slide.

,hello, Thanks for the awesome videos! I am curious do you sell planners that you make? I can use procreate but I never have the time to learn keynote
Hi. I’m wondering how would you make a cover page for your planner?
I am using an iPad how do you move the slide to the opposite side of the page
I put the links in the master slides but they didn’t seem to work when I brought it into GoodNotes....not sure what to do now :(
I made a problem solving links video to check out. My first guess is - did you group things? When you group things then add links it doesn’t work.

Etsy has a ton of options for templates and journals!

First of all, how are you doing well through this plandemic? Second, what version of Keynote are you using? Mine doesn’t look like this! Thanks!

Is there a maximum number of tabs you can have? Can you add more tabs in certain sections?

Apple need to add the option to use hex code to choose a color. i hate the scroller.
Ok so what you saying is. Learn keynote 👍🤣
Yup! Learn it... live it... so much you can do!
