Admit it Scotty, you do the videos for the aerobic exercise. All that arm waving is actually good for you. I’m in the UK and you’re the only car channel in the USA I trust. Harry’s Garage in the UK is good, but he’s mostly about luxury cars, though he does bikes too. Keep doing what you do bro.

Never had to bring the two vehicles i own/ed into a so called real mechanics shop and i am 36 now(First car was a 95 altima 18 years old at the time). RUclips and a haynes manual($1200 in tools so far also) will save you so so so much money thank you again Scotty Kilmer!
I'm 71 years old and I've run my own shop here in the UK for 27 years. My secret for survival has been to look after my customers in the good old fashioned way. I'm not the cheapest, but I offer plenty of friendly advice, fairness and courtesy and they have kept on coming back. Carry on the great work, I don't like seeing anyone ripped off either.
Here’s the secret to success in every business and judging by your tone your success, under promise and over deliver.Treat your customers exactly like you would want to be treated.
This channel is like a timecapsule from the old days of YT. Everything else is over produced and algorithmic on YT nowadays. Makes me nostalgic for old times.
This Scotty took over my mechanic training when my husband Scotty passed away. THANK YOU for your honesty and all the help that you have been to me, Scotty. You've saved this poor damsel a ton of money and have kept me rollin by teaching me how to fix it myself. :)
I read your head line saying RUclips has changed and goodbye old friends. I freaked out that YOU were no longer going to make videos! Thank God you're still going to make them or I would fall over and die! You're hands down the best online mechanic for advice. So keep doing what you do because millions love you Scotty! And enjoy your vacation you deserve a nice long one!
Being independant really is the soul of this channel, hope you can continue for a long time and hope your son will be as good as you are, even if I don’t agree on everything you say, you will still be one of the greatest in the community for what you gave

Stumbled upon my first Scotty video a year or two ago and wondered at the time who was this crazy guy. Many videos later, the more I watch him the smarter he gets, and so do I. Thanks man, your right on. Much respect.

I guess Scotty was saying goodbye to the channels that are dropping like flies. But one day, maybe a few years from now, he will be saying goodbye. That will be a sad day. Nothing lasts forever. But he sure did leave his mark on all our hearts. 👍
I found your channel a few weeks ago and I’m not really even that much of a car guy. I think you’re entertaining and honest honest and you provide a tremendous amount of value you are very appreciated.
11 years ago, i started to tampered with my broken Hyundai. I was unployed, broke, with 3 years old child to raise! Your videos teach me allot. I have been my owne mechanic for 11 years. All of your recomendations checked out! I now one a Honda Fit. Small, practical, reliable easy to fix. I saw one off your videos about them, and follow your recomendations. I was going for a Toyota, but it was above my budget. Your advices allways checked out. Thank you.
It's hard enough to find a good honest mechanic, how would we be able to find another trustworthy youboob mechanic like Scotty Kilmer if he retires?!?!! I've learned so much from Scotty that I feel comfortable asking questions and forcing mechanics to show me the proof before I hand them my wallet. The value of watching Scotty is measured by the money one can save by either doing it yourself or searching for the right mechanic. Thank you Scotty for years worth of free advice!!
It's one thing to hear Scotty tell us that we can trust Scotty. But the best compliment is to scroll the comments and see the occasional veteran mechanic drop by to tell us the same thing. Thanks for sharing!!
You won't need or will be able to afford a car in 5 years, according to the government. Public transportation will fill all your needs, unless you're walking on crutches to your nearest transit station a half mile through dangerous neighborhoods.
This IS the BEST and MOST HONEST video Scotty EVER put out in his 17 years on YT. Alluding very subtly to American INJUSTICE and CORRUPTION as well as automotive scams.
Scotty Kilmer is the Keith Richards of car advice mechanics. Well aged, sometimes hard to understand, the best at what he does, always tells you what he thinks (even if you don't agree), and highly entertaining. Many more years and videos to you, sir!😁
Your here for people like me. Late 60s that only buys well made used cars / trucks. Currently own 91 Z71 and 95 6cyl Silverado. I will be adding 2001 Lincoln Continental and same year Lincoln Town car. I buy, keep running well built older vehicles. I raised my 2 children the same way. Thank you, Joe Smyrna Delaware
You are the very, very best. I'm a 70ish woman and I follow your advice in my 3 old cars. Wish I could find a mechanic with your experience and car talent in my area.
In a country that's been taken over by crooks, left, right and center, you may be one of the last honest men who isn't trying to trick someone out of their money. That alone makes you a National Treasure. I'm your age, and remember when the fix wasn't in so completely. Thanks for being there and helping. I'm no mechanic but have worked on cars for fifty two years. By the way, I finally had my valves looked at in my 2007 Honda Accord (4 cylinder). All the exhaust gaps were still spec, but the intake side gaps needed to be tightened up a little. Not bad for 349,000 miles. .
@abqmal > I'm no mechanic but have worked on cars for fifty two years. Ditto - sort of. I was working on cars 52 years ago, and would and could do pretty much anything apart from structural welding. I remember when you'd open the bonnet of a car and see 2 wires running to the engine, and when you looked down you could see the ground. Fell out of the habit of DIY when for decades I had company cars, and now I'm too old and creaky to want to lie on concrete with spanners in my hand. Plus the cars have got too complicated to work on. I don't have a "classic" car, and for instance with my current drive the *EASIEST* way to replace a headlamp is to jack it up, remove the wheel, remove the mudshield from inside the wheel arch and have at it from the rear. But then I remember my Dad trying to fix a dropped drivers door hinge on his 1950s Sunbeam Talbot, and think that in some ways it was ever thus...
wait, you mean there was a time when every corporation, politician, and pillar of society wasn't essentially a sociopathic entity bent entirely on the exploitation of its stakeholders? That feels like it just couldn't possibly be true
This man is an absolute genius. Pure honesty. Thanks for being the youtube uncle that helped me learn about fixing all my cars. Don't leave we need ya here uncle scotty!
Indeed the world needs more people like Scotty Kilmer; not just for his mechanical wisdom and honesty - but also for his enthusiasm, which is infectious!!! I started watching him when my car broke down a year after my wife died, and was in a very bad state; I can honestly say that he lifted my spirits on days when I was down and at a loose end! Thank you Scotty!
Greetings from Ireland - Scotty - been a fan for many years and I am a true believer in your philosophy .. I am an older car and fix it my myself guy .. stay safe and best regards, Paul
Scotty - some of the best/honest and fair advice I've seen. I do work on my own cars and this is great content. Keep up the good work. And thanks for all you do!
I’m a 60-year-old woman who loves driving Toyota I love your videos Scotty please never stop. You’ve saved me so much money and you’ve never steered me wrong so thank you.
AS A GUY WHO DOSEN’T KNOW A TORQUE CONVERTER FROM A PLANETARY GEARSET I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR VAST KNOWLEDGE OF ALL CARS AND HOW TO CORRECTLY FIX THEM…
Hey Scotty! I've been a mechanic for 35 years. I love what you do. I want your listeners to know you are the "real deal'! Much respect. Keep it up. If you stop, you might drop.😀
I often check out your videos, Scotty. I'm 72 ... my son is 32 ... and we both get a kick out of how you express things. Someone told me years ago if my hands were tied, I couldn't talk. I don't know if anyone ever said that to you. Many people have taken you into their heart, Scotty. God bless you always. By the way, I ordered a PCV valve yesterday for my 2005 Tacoma 2.7 standard shift because of one of your videos. Keep on keeping on brother!
I found your channel just this past Fall 2023! I was missing out for almost 17 years! You are great, you have a good sense of humor, and I have learned a lot about cars.
I commute 35k miles a year. Scott helped me get a great commuter car, Toyota 1.8l 4 speed Corolla. I love the car. I maintain my little car to the very best expectations. 500k miles are expected.😊
I have watched you for years. And THIS is the best video you have ever made. You have always had my respect but now that respect is cemented. “You shall know the truth and the truth will make you free.” Thank you Scotty for holding ground in an ever changing truth ambiguous world.❤❤❤ lots of love for you and the lessons you learned from your grandfather. Thank you.
This is probably Scotty's most important video for anyone who's never seen his videos. He's not fixing any vehicles or reviewing any products - both of which he does with a high level of knowledge and class. Thank you for all you do Scotty. I just subscribed (again - google closed my other account). We need more people like you in this world. If presidential candidates had your honesty and integrity, our country and the world would be a better place. We love you Scotty!
@@catdaddy3407 same, it’s just wild because in my current brain RUclips has been around forever, but in reality, I was in highschool and remember when the web didn’t have YT yet. We were still rocking ebaums world etc
I was thinking the other day how long it had been since I'd quit working for a particular employer - 2007. Dang, it seems like just a couple years ago. Freaky how time goes so fast.
Appreciate your sentiments. However this is what I was thinking reading your post. Who Scotty is, his knowledge base his incredible spirit will not be honored by training anyone. That man is an ICON. Only comes with life experience and an innate love to help others. Can train someone agree Scotty❤️❤️❤️❤️ he’s one of a kind!!!!
You have been invaluable in my quest for a reliable car bought a 2003 Buick LaSabre 54000 miles it is a dream car would have never considered such an old car thank you I'm a retired nurse with no clue about mechanics of car UNTIL NOW YOUR THE REAL DEAL.
I've been referring to this channel for answers to my questions for years and although my girlfriend thinks Scotty's voice is obnoxious I think he's a goldmine for honest and valuable information. Thanks for everything Scotty! Also, my grandfather's name was Elmer too. That's pretty cool!

Don’t quit Scotty, you have fans even downunder in New Zealand
And Australia as well.
And Thailand too.
Scotty is known round the world wherever a bolt is turned.
You’re a national treasure and hope to meet you one day. Been a fan for decades. Thank you for all of the videos and honesty!
If more people thought like Scotty, they wouldn't be living beyond their means and upside down in debt!
Thank You Sir for being a honest man. We could use a lot more of that these days
WoW, Scotty! Your Grandpa’s name was Elmer, and so is my brother, who is also a mechanic, and a good honest one too! WTG!
Another thing I like about you Scotty is you don’t ask for money on Patreon like so many of those other RUclipsr’s do. Good for you.
Scotty, Your car care channel is the best I've found.
NONE BETTER !
This man is an absolute genius. Pure honesty. Thanks for being the youtube uncle that helped me learn about fixing all my cars. Don't leave we need ya here uncle scotty!
Now we know why all YT best practices recommend moving hands during entire video. Scotty invested this!

The world needs more people like Scotty
Indeed the world needs more people like Scotty Kilmer; not just for his mechanical wisdom and honesty - but also for his enthusiasm, which is infectious!!!
I started watching him when my car broke down a year after my wife died, and was in a very bad state; I can honestly say that he lifted my spirits on days when I was down and at a loose end!
Thank you Scotty!
Greetings from Ireland - Scotty - been a fan for many years and I am a true believer in your philosophy .. I am an older car and fix it my myself guy .. stay safe and best regards, Paul

Scotty been a fan for years now and love the fact that you are like the Howard Cosell of automotive experts you “tell it like it is.”
We love you man
PLEASE don't ever leave us Scotty ❤ we all need you
I don't 👍
@@Ginx-pe4si Then get outta here!
Scotty will quit when Fiat sells a good car.
Scotty - some of the best/honest and fair advice I've seen. I do work on my own cars and this is great content.
Keep up the good work. And thanks for all you do!
Bye Scotty! I'll miss you! I'll see you in 2 days!
Scotty, Your great. Thanks for all the honest info you give people. I wish there were more people like you.
Scotty is a one off. There isn’t anyone like him.
@@navret1707 Boy, that's the truth!
I’m a 60-year-old woman who loves driving Toyota I love your videos Scotty please never stop. You’ve saved me so much money and you’ve never steered me wrong so thank you.
AS A GUY WHO DOSEN’T KNOW A TORQUE CONVERTER FROM A PLANETARY GEARSET I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR VAST KNOWLEDGE OF ALL CARS AND HOW TO CORRECTLY FIX THEM…
This video is so good that I had to watch it twice back to back.
Scotty, I watch your channel because you are a no bull, straight shooter. You do tell it like it is, and that's refreshing in this day and age.
I would watch Scotty even if I had to pay. Knowledge is power!
Hey Scotty! I've been a mechanic for 35 years. I love what you do. I want your listeners to know you are the "real deal'! Much respect. Keep it up. If you stop, you might drop.😀
I’ve been watching this guy for years from when I bought my first car ever to now that I’m on my third . Love Scotty !
Right on Scotty! Thank you. David, from North Kingstown, R.I.
Wow that's dedication good on ya
The way Scotty talks, raised voice and moving his arms around, that's a workout right there!!! Long live Scotty!
That's why everyone loves you Scotty, honesty is so hard to find these days. ☺️🙏👍
Wow! Ain't that the truth!
Been watching you for 4 years
Your content is excellent.
You still have a lot of souls to save.
Keep making them videos Scotty.
I found your channel just this past Fall 2023! I was missing out for almost 17 years! You are great, you have a good sense of humor, and I have learned a lot about cars.
So, you HAVE to keep going with these videos!
17 years on RUclips… Christ I forget how old I’m getting
Turn on the SeLfie by Accident 0😅fiLters
Me too been watching Scotty for ages I am geting about as old as dirt LOL !!!
@@catdaddy3407 same, it’s just wild because in my current brain RUclips has been around forever, but in reality, I was in highschool and remember when the web didn’t have YT yet. We were still rocking ebaums world etc
@@kyledodson2992 Same here I remember well when dial up AOL was just coming out and it was the big thing of the day I am in my 50’s
I was thinking the other day how long it had been since I'd quit working for a particular employer - 2007. Dang, it seems like just a couple years ago. Freaky how time goes so fast.
You better train someone to takeover if you leave. Has to grumpy, knowledgeable and have a comedic streak
If Scotty has taught us one thing it is that they don't make 'em like they used to!
I vote for the laughing horse
And wave their hands a lot.
Also totally biased to toyotas and hate Mexico made cars
Love this channel and actively use it while looking for cars to buy, and just in my free time, I value this guy’s opinion very highly.
I look forward to your commentary daily, you are a breath of fresh air.
