I just tried this on official small tribes. I had 10 Rexes and 1 Yuti. All the rexes had 10k health, 500+ melee, prim saddles and none of them were bred. I managed to get the manticore very low but all my rexes died before the manticore was defeated. If you try this on official, I would recommend more rexes or better saddles at least.
I redid it with 15 rexes and 1 Yuti on small tribes, same stats as before, and I had journeyman saddles with 56 armor on all of them. The manticore died easily and no rexes died.
U gotta super mutate them that's what I'm doing for the alpha cuz I got no blueprint saddles
And also use a daedon to heal your dinos

A shame, when I defeated it (with literally only four Rexes) just now, the dossier didn’t show up because I went into my Rex’s inventory and I guess it closed the dossier.
How many rexes did you bring?

@@JonnaX idk, i never made the SE manticore, coz the Rag or Valg ones are easier LoL, and also it wont give anything special, till now... hehehehe
I'll try, to be honest in Ps4 and asap as i got used to the keyboad and mouse I'll do on PC too.

Would this be better with levelled allos for their back boost and bleed damage
allos are really not that good for boss fights, seen other videos with it but they use boosted stats, rexes are always the better option
It depends
If you have a tanky dino in front and have the allos attack from behind it could work
@@shadowgamer4108 i mean the thing is the bleed effect from allosaurs does not even work on bosses so the only damage that you do is the actual base damage from the allosaurus, if you really want the bleed effect just bring a couple of deinonychus they work really well
@@JonnaX yea I love using deinonychus I haven't used allos except for tek cave that's why I thought allo bleed would work too
I've just finished my deinonychus breeding they're all on 40 mutations now and stats are op
I done that boss always with rhinos for fun. Is it New u get 15 extra levels now? U unlock if u already beat that boss ?
yes the 15+ levels is new
If you've already done it, it should be unlocked on your character. You just have to get the experience. Valguero counts as well.
Are deinonychus and shadowmanes also good for this boss?

I've never had the manticore land with shadowmanes. It just flew around and goofed off until time ran out regardless of position, etc. Tried several times. Mixing in rex or yuti may produce different results.
Do I set the rexes to passive or neutral for this?
Very late but neutral
Passive = no attack
Neutral = attack when attacked
@@Yevann3 I ended up beating it, I was just wondering bcs I thought they might end up attacking the death worms or rock golems instead of the boss if they were on neutral
U didnt say anything about NOT keeping the element in ur inventory after cus u end up in the upload (ark data )... i lost my 428 element😮💨
What's the scoop on that? New to ARK so I'm not sure about all its nuances. I did see another video elsewhere that said to get all gotten gains on to a dino, but I may be wrong about that. Any insight before doing the battle would be great.
@@AestivalSpirit yes do that or else all loot on like yourself will be lost your dinos will have them if u give it to them
@@AestivalSpirit there are certain fights with ascensions and basically go through space ascending to another ark (not actually but that's the lore) what actually happens is your character gets uploaded like you could do on an obelisk or tek transmitter now the difference between uploading and the forced upload after ascension is you get to keep all your inventory after ascending except for ANY FORM OF element (element itsel, element shards / dust, ...,) I guess trophies will disappear too (basically everything that you cannot upload in ark data
Once you log in any ark you can download your character if the ark your logging onto hasnt got one already (if it does you can kill the old character then download the new)
On single player I would recommend you either delete the save files for that ark you want to download your character on (if you have built something on it already) or if you really nmdo not want to do that bc you built something really nice on it or u like your tames you can also put in a command so let's say you defeat alpha overseer and go on another map but don't wanna lose your progress by downloading another character you can type in the command "playercommand Ascend3" that will give you the levels of the ascension
Basically long text short: u can keep everything except for not uploadable items (such as any form of element & trophies) after an ascension
And you might want to come back on your map you did the boss before going to next as you might want to upload your breeding dinos, dinos you like in particular, items such as a few useful structures, armor, weapons, tools if you don't wanna start from 0 everytime

there is no timer in Single Player, however, this is completed With Exactly The Same Difficulty As you Would Have on The Official Servers, And The full boss fight Took about 6 Minutes - i always cut out the middle to keep it Straight to the point and interesting
@@JonnaX How interesting. I am gearing up to do the battle, somewhat inspired to go all-in straight to Alpha. I plan on using Ember Crystal Wyverns, a lot of them. All raised from eggs, obviously (LOL). Might toss in a few Ice Wyverns, OMG I accidently left breading on for them and found nearly a dozen eggs sitting around. Thankfully I had an egg incubator, thank you Genesis Part 2 for the free Tek type stuff! Or I might use a mix of Wyverns and Tek Rexes, also raised, and bread. Got lucky on them as well.

And I'm happy, no not happy flipping excited, to say myself and another player with nine Ember Crystal Wyverns, and one lightning, two tek-rexes (they didn't get much biting and fighting in) and a Yuti, did it. The ECWs started dropping, a few recovered, but they then targeted stone elementals. I jumped back onto the lightning and just about to die, starting a biting fight with the manticore. And dammmmn, we did it. Not solo, but that's ok. So thanks for the inspiration to do the battle at the Alpha level!!!!!!!!

not sure really never done this boss with shadowmanes but recond decent tames should do the trick they are pretty strong aswell

Your telling me if I go do alpha manticore rn it will automatically give me the ability to gain +15 levels without having to do anything else???
your character will have the ability to have an extra 15 MAX LEVELS :) you still will nee to get the xp yourself tho but amazing nonetheless :D

Yes is much better indeed
Wyverns often miss their element attacks when they arent being ridden, so it can be a bit rough trying to get them to do anything

I counted, somewhat, and it looked like six or seven.
you wont need that many tbh the main difference would be it will take long to defeat the boss. just important that you exactly know what to do and what to look out for
