@Henrik I'll trust my own experience with them as that's all can between them and the anything from 2011 and newer all from ownership .... do yall just reply just fit the sake of replying
A pure example of when BMW's were truly " The Ultimate Driving Machines ". Beamers really peaked in the 1990's with all their E- series models starting from the mid 80's thru the 90's and early 00's. As far back as the first 7-series in 1977 (E23) to the E38 (3rd Gen), this Flagship was always special and a pure drivers car. A proper European saloon that was built like a tank and doors that shut like vaults. I own a 00' BMW 740i M-sport (E38) and plan on doing a full restoration on it. Certain cars just have to be preserved.....and legacy BMW's are truly deserving of that? It's nothing quite like the naturally-aspirated engines, rear wheel drive, hydraulic steering, squared-bodied BMW's of old? They are truly special🙏🏼🙏🏽🙏🏾🙏🏻
being born in 80s and 90s, seeing these cars on streets, driving them, experiencing them, it was all privilage. gen z will never taste the beauty of mechanical and manual technology, pure driving and amazing style of those cars had. new cars are all about electronic gadgets, and all seems same.
The V8's didn't come with manuals from the factory on the E32's. This was likely an owner conversion, easily doable with parts from either the E31 8-series 840 or the E34/E39 540i's.
What a car and what an era! Back then where people bought what they could buy. Now people buy 7 series but live in a house that is smaller then a dolls house.
Back then people bought cars, now they rent them on some PCP or lease. That’s why expensive cars are relatively commonplace now because you don’t need a great deal of money to obtain one.
Manual V8 that’s a rarity. I am more familiar with the 3.5 Straight 6 as a friend’s dad had a 735! I remember the deep low rev boom of the engine…and that it was not that comfortable. The leather was hard and the headrests were like rocks. My other pal’s dad had a Jaguar Sovreign. That was a whole different world of comfort.

Brings back child memories. We had a 730iA. I was in the back seat for tens of thousands of kilometers going on vacations. Fun fact: avg fuel consumption was 17l/100km according to the system.
To be completely honest, there aren’t that many cars I would enjoy owning more than this. Manual transmission, just enough power, plenty of room and extremely comfortable. The search begins.
Guarantee the design team was one of the proudest in history after releasing this car. Almost perfect in every way
😂😂😂
And the latest version dashboard wide wooden trim down 👇 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This was the Era of non planned obsolescence. It was an epic time for BMW when belive it or not were highly reliable.
planned obsolescence started in the industrial revolution and maybe even earlier. todays cars are made to break easily I wouldn't argue on that tho.
Trust me, there was planned obsolescene lol. It just wasnt as obvious and technological. But you can still believe what you want 🤣

I agree
Only if kept in condition like that. Unfortunately most are complete piles due to lack of any maintenance.
All old BMW’s are, never been a fan of models after 2008, just junk ready to break and too much repeated design.
In comparison with Jaguar XJ or Maserati Quatroporte of the same year, it looks bland and boring asf.
@@Ze_Hans ok the jaguar yea but the Maserati you mentioned is fucking hideous
