Just wanted to drop in and say that I’m super hype for all the content you’ve been putting out. Always happy to see a new vid of yours in my feed. Keep it up man. You’re doing awesome. The competitive D:I community is lucky to have you.
@@hidden-assets Finished watching the tier list and I too have a soft spot for Paul. More often than not I find myself picking him just to try and make him work. I agree with the tier list. Note about Ilesa, she can also get a 2 cost spice tech round one by revealing a dagger on her 2nd turn. She’s my other pet leader lol Akin to Paul, I’ve found that she has a lot of flexibility, especially with the faction tracks since, if you play it right, you’re very likely to have a faction access card in your hand every turn due to signet ring usage. Which means you don’t have to necessarily buy cards of the row just for their faction access. You can focus on other buys. And foldspace doesn’t sacrifice action for persuasion since it draws, letting you maintain some buying power. I agree that she is very hard to play properly though. I think a really good player with her can make it seem like she’s B tier. Just playin devil’s advocate here cause I like Ilesa :P
Hey love your videos so much. One critique that might help: up the volume. Currently everything is so quiet compared to everything else I listen to. Thanks!
Great vid! I might actually start playing the lower characters with some added/edited house rules and see how they do, such as Princess ring being a cost of only 6, Memnon high council: two influence, Ilesa ring: free foldspace, and Moritani guy gets to draw 3 intrigue and put two back, or maybe he gets to draw 3, keep one, put one back on top of deck and put one at top of shipping track and first time he goes down three shipping he gains that intrigue as well. Let me know what you think of these and I'll let you know how they result/change the character as i play these next few months
Definitely worth trying out. I'm still hopeful that some of the new leaders (with as-printed abilities) have special ways to play that I haven't seen yet. Luckz talks about how good Rhombur can be. I want to see the Moritanis find their niche.
@@hidden-assets Yea the two games that Rhombur has been in the game for us he’s been very strong. I can see how he may have to rely on dreadnaughts but an early dreadnauhjt for him is very strong. But his ability of just being able to negotiate with the ix so much is so good too. And yea the Moritanis have cool potential
I will! This has also inspired me to create some fan-made house leaders. Got some good progress of ideas so far and will let you know when I complete them!
@@ratPasta79 would love to see those. I already printed the ones that are on bgg and most of them are really cool and balanced. Would love to see what you come up with
lol once i wanted to pick my top 10 cards in the game....but its really hard to narrow the list down to 10 :D most likely due to the ton of factors affecting card usefulness such as other cards in the deck, character, round of the game etc. etc.
I would probably use the following leaders for dunne uprising calculating play balance. The following leaders based on the changes made to the game. Earl menon thorvald, countess ariana, count ilban,Duke Leto, the baron harkonen😊
Hi guys, first of, thanks for the list. Lets take this ranking for granted, what buffs and nerfs can be made to bring the leaders closer together, while making as few changes as possible. My suggestions: Nerfs: Baron ring ability costs 2 instead of 1 solari Duke Leto ring ability costs 2 spice instead of 1 Buffs: Rhombus cross out the -OR- on his ring ability and if you guys think he needs further buffing his Dreadnoughts have 5 Power Ilban ring ability gain 2 instead of 1 solari Thorvald ring ability gain 2 instead of 1 spice. Please let me know your opinions on that
So the competitive community for ix/immo have been implementing changes to leaders to balance them. This group has been helmed by Cheesable. But what I can tell you is that Ilban is the best leader in Ix+immo with Tessia and Baron close by. Some of the changes they've included are to have the better leaders start with a "sandstorm" card (a blank card that trashes itself when revealed). Some other leader choices are that Rhombur starts with an Ixian negotiator straight away. I think the philosophy has mainly been to bring every leader up in terms of power so that they're all competitive.
@@hidden-assets thanks for the very quick answer, awesome. I've read about these changes. My problem with that is,that i don't want all leaders modded,i only want as few changes as possible. Please give me your thoughts on the buffs and nerfs above (except for Ilban, thanks for the advice).
@@boogiewuu9025 I like homebrew stuff, so house rules on these leaders seem fine. I would probably test them yourself to see if they're too big of changes. :)
IMO, if the character's innate ability is a one time thing (looking at you Earl Memnon Thorvaold😂), AND the signet ring ability require a trade of resources (e.g. Duke Leto's trade one spice for one step up in an influence track) instead of a free resource (e.g., Paul's one extra card for free), then I really REALLY don't want to play as those characters 😅 Paul is one of my favourite, Count Richese and Helena is another, and also the new guy with 4-strength dreadnoughts 🤣🤣
Hello, Nice list...i understand the uncertainty with Paul, in noncompetetive enviroment he can be really interesting...for base game i had a lot of fun playing him when i wanted to focus mostly on cards and circle through the deck quickly trying to build decks for even more card draws :D i know its amaterish but when oponents are not as strong its fun to eperiment with it....BTW. awesome videos man! Competetive enviroment, tournaments and related content is one of the best ways how to keep comunity and game alive and blooming. I love this channel and also videos. Fabulous job! keep them comming.
Representing Paul! But defo some characters are better or worse in certain pick spots as well as the ability to block leader benefits. Yuna can we'll get turn 2 swordmaster cause of extra solari but it's easy enough to stop. Asmetric ranking for an asmetric system.
Great stuff! Just discovered your channel. Just opened expansion and got a game in. Made a great game even better. Is there a link to the article he was referring to anywhere?
Yes, I have changed some of my rankings. S tier is Tessia and Baron. A tier: Leto, Hundro, Beast. B tier: Helena, Yuna, Ilban, Armand Ecaz. C tier: Memnon, Paul. D tier: Ilesa, Rhombur, Ariana. Planning on explaining this in an upcoming video, but there's your pre-view. :D
I would say you underestimate hundro. If you get a first Turn smuggling + harvest Spice with Signet ring you can Set yourself Up for a round two high councel or swormaster asuming you also Go for wealth round two
Im intermediate level player. So watch a lot of competitive video’s and play a lot of casual dune imperium rise of ix. So some things I still don’t understand, for one: how and why are certain characters better at certain places? Is there an article on BGG or anything about this?
There defo are, the short answer is synergy with their abilities, stuff like yuna on money generating spaces. There's stuff on there goes into way more detail but that's the super TL:DR usually
I love this game, and yet I find most of the leader's powers to be insultingly boring and uninspired. It makes me want to redesign them myself with something a little more interesting.

Ilban shines in Immortality. His drawing card ability is amazing, allowing the creation of many fantastic combos.

Sadly cards are of wildly different value depending on circumstances, so a card tier list would be basically pointless

Yeah, sorry about that. We fixed it in later vids. Patience's mic was way too low and I had to fix it in post.
