Still sad that Scotland- the inventors of the 7s format- no longer have an independent 7s programme. Especially since it was one of our most successful pathways for homegrown talent into the 15s game.
They do have a scotland 7s team, as do england and wales. The GB 7s comes together for the 7s circuit during the Olympics cycle, they perform together now so they have time to gel for next year's olympics.
"AGAIN IT'S FLAT... !" SA try 19-15, the ball tip is pointing from a zero degrees lateral line with the width of the pitch to the far side from the camera and using that line as 12 : 00, it was pointing 11 : 55 !! The penalty moments before for "holding on against the GB player" had an SA tackler who did not release... That aside, GB with speed and muscle is different.
He doesn't have the right players. It's either they are injured or the unions have taken them back to play 15s. Having the URC, Currie Cup and sevens take place at the same time has led to a purge of our finest sevens players that we've been grooming. At onto that the injuries, our squad is quite depleted.
@WorldRugby - guess I don't need to watch because you've already told us who won? Just say who is playing who & whether it's a Pool game, quarterfinal etc. A lot of the enjoyment is not knowing the outcome if you haven't heard elsewhere...
Money problems basically. Rugby in the UK is in a massive financial crisis, sevens players lost their central contracts, all they could do is merge in one team to keep existing. It's a bit sad, but hey it frees two spots for other nations to join in. England, Scotland and Wales will play separately in the Commonwelth games and Sevens World Cups, until the fundings are back to some acceptable level I guess.
I support the Lions in the 15-a-side version but I'd rather have the traditional England, Scotland and Wales teams instead of Great Britain in the sevens version.
@@Mo-yd8xc Tchnically they should be playing as UK/GB because England, Scotland and Wales are not real countries (they're not sovereign states and are not recognized by the UN as countries).
It's de facto the UK at the olympics, but it's always been called team GB. Good luck trying to change that ^^' Oh btw in rugby, all irish players including the northern irish play for Ireland, so what should a team representing England, Scotland and Wales be called then?
Honestly I dont believe these are the best 7's players in S.A there is considerable bias in our selection for W.Cape players I stand corrected, but the lack of in ball creativity is there to from some of these players maybe the Blitz need to install new play and scout nation wide

@@thiagosihla9827 yeah. The sevens academy will need to think of a way to get more quality players and to hold onto them for longer. The problem is that once a player proves to be very good, their union takes them back and puts them in 15s. The sevens team now barely gets 3 years with the best players
Miss the Powell factor.. You can see the difference in play... Yes, new young players, but we always had them, injuries, yes, we always get them... Where is the speedsters, the short kick over the line and chase, the corner kicks for the Blitsies out wide... 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
Great Britain why is it that these countries are allowed to team up, it's a bit of a stretch to keep pretending they can not each field a team. A good SA side?....lol
Congratulations on beating a South African side! I say a South African side as let's be honest, this is far from a good South African side.
Well that was exciting. Shame it was all spoilt by the numpty that gave away the result in the title of the video.
Pretty sure that ball was out before the bell, Boks should have been given a line out throw in.
He kicked the ball before the bell but the ball crossed the line after the bell had sounded.
will the real sandile ngcobo step down from the seat - team degrading

Ever since Neil Powell's departure SA 7's has/have been PATHETIC!
There were still 4 seconds left when the ball was kicked out, should have been a lineout throw in to SA
there wasn’t
