  • Setting out on a cold winter day in search of some hungry steelhead. Despite the cold conditions, using a simple rig I was able to land some nice fish! Stay tuned, and I hope you enjoy the video!

    Heck yeah man! Much respect - you nailed it. Much more rewarding when you can catch the fish on your own but always lots of fun when a buddy gives you the hook up. Look at the famous fishing youtubers channels and you'll never see them fishing on their own unless they have a guide to put them on fish.

    Ever try using the head strap for your camera? It gives a good, higher view of the water/fish strikes and the view doesn’t get blocked by your reel and hands. I’m assuming you’re using an action camera (GoPro) Just a suggestion and not a complaint. Keep up the good work!

    How do you float fish with that setup in 3 ft of water when your hook is father away from your float? I can only assume you’re purposely bottom bouncing and dragging it down? I’m just wanting to learn is why I ask. Also why run a leader then barrel swivel then another size leader?

  • @mariavarricchio9021
    @mariavarricchio9021 3 года назад +1

    I would like to try this set up. How long is your 12 lb fluorocarbon and how long is your 8 lb fluorocarbon? Also, when you say “small barrel swivel”, how small do you mean? From what I can see in the video, it doesn’t look that small. Thank you for your help.

    • @ajkubik3588
      @ajkubik3588 6 лет назад

      WDTA UT look up trout bead pegs and bead tutorials on here they show you how to rig em. A little rubber peg goes into the hole you slip the fishing line into that holds it from sliding

    • @geebee3d
      @geebee3d 6 лет назад

      As mentioned, you can peg the bead with either a rubber peg or a pice of toothpick. Also, there is a knot called a “bead knot” that will hold the bead in place. Some people have opined that the knot will break when a big fish is hooked. I fish tippets from 4-6lb test, and have never broken off a fish at the bead, FWIW.
      Either way, that’s how you do it.
