Hi guys after watching Jay's videos I just received all 90 in my PTE! If you have a goldfish-level working memory like me, follow Jay's advice and break down each sentence into phrases. It works like a charm and just requires practice. Before I came across this method I was getting every sentence wrong because I immediately forgot what I heard, but after I started breaking down sentences into phrases I got at least 90% of the sentences right. Good luck for your test!

These videos are an absolute MUST for anyone taking these tests. I got an overall score of 90 with 88 being my lowest. Even though i am a native speaker this was definitely only possible due to these videos. The test is long and intense and prep is definitely a prerequisite. E2Language and Jay deserve immense credit and a big shout-out. Especially for making these videos available to the public for free. You and your team are all stars in the community Sir. Thank you so very much.

I would personally like to thank you Jay and E2Language team here, and I will also share a few points for the community as I feel I owe it to you - I had received a 64 in speaking in my first attempt (although scoring 80+ for pte practice tests in Pearson site) in July which stopped my PR as I needed 65 and then I was slammed with work - so couldn't do anything. But after watching your videos on strategies and doing some research on my own for just 1 week (I have some machine learning experience and background) I got this - O-87, L-90, R-75, S-87, W-90 yesterday. So, thanks a lot and I will say 2 things on how to beat the machine here. First, there will be a high level of background noise in your centers due to all test-takers speaking aloud at the same time (the mic being very sensitive and state-of-the-art), at least in all Asian centers, so key is you have to keep your voice above that level as that's how the machine detects it. Do not stop and re-start your sentence or be stuck in a pause (that's where the background will kick in and system will register random words spoken by others) - it is a human tendency but you have to resist it - this is where the machine will deduct the most marks IMO. Second, "In Conclusion" seems to be the favorite phrase that the machine likes for describe image (do say it even if you are at the 39th second) and if you use "Overall" please give a tiny tiny pause, for the machine to register it. I have seen that they are introducing something new in every section now - like in Speaking there can be a video or in Listening there can be a sudden change to a very fast accent or a logical problem in the narrative, Reading has become much tougher than before or at least in my case. Last point - Jay, for the SST in listening, the examples that you have, some are having more than 70 words in them, I found it is pretty much the same as SWT, you just have the freedom to write more than one sentence. It works. HTH. MD

Repeat sentence section is so insane. It is memory test and does not make sense. Somebody says around 20 words in normal speed and ask somebody to repeat each word(not near but exact) in 90 secs and claims that it is not memory test is whimsical. Do this to even native high school students in dictation and see the results. It is not debated but utter nonsense. I challenge even native english speaker or test maker to do same in the other langauge they are learning and then they will agree. It is a memory test. They should supersede this section with the other real testing section.

Mr Frank, I feel the same way, I am unfortunately obliged to take either the IELTS or the PTE in order for me to meet the requirements of a particular Visa and i'm currently in the process of deciding which of the 2 are a better option for me.
I too find it ridiculous that this section of the PTE seems to focus more on ones memory and less on the actual language , in all the examples i'v viewed, i clearly understand what was said, however i almost immediately forget what was said and when i attempt to repeat the sentence, well, lets just say, i will fail miserably.

I would like to thank E2 Language especially Jarrad Merlo for his fantastic RUclips videos for PTE Examination. After 1 week preparation, 1 topic per day, I was able to get my desired score. My target actually is very low hahaha but E2 Language definitely helped me passed the exam. I got 64 overall. E2 Language for PTE YouTUBE videos are pretty solid, if you are on LOW BUDGET, need LOW SCORE TARGET like me and 2 hours max review time, that is more than enough to pass. =)
My scores below may not your ideal but these scores brought happiness to me (and that's all that matters...=)
    Communicative Skills:
    Listening: 64
    Reading: 60
    Speaking: 68
    Writing: 78
Thank you so much E2 Language!!! God bless you guys.

Initially, I was having some problems with repeating the entire sentence though now will your phrases technique it's going well. Thanks and good luck with all the upcoming videos.

Thank you Jay! I've watched a couple of your classes and they are really helpful. You model pronunciation and oral fluency so well every time you talk (stress, intonation, phrasing and whatever they are). I really enjoy listening to you speaking English. I am just wishing the teachers who do the recordings in official PTE tests can speak as clearly as you do😄.

Hello Jay, I have a question: I have a really bad short-term memory. I can often hear all the word and understand the sentence, but I cannot repeat because I will forget the detail almost immediately, for example: "Clothing can affect your mood, your health, and your self-esteem.", and I'll surely forget "mood", and "heatlh", which come first. Is there any way to combat this? Thanks.

Hi Jay , I have one important question ... I've noticed you always mentioning that the PTE was designed in a way that it gives highest score to the Pronunciation which is "Native-Like" ..... this sounds quite odd to me, In the sense , why would a native take the PTE test ? only non-natives are required to take these kind of english proficiency tests .... so it means that a non native will never get full marks for the pronunciation no matter how good his / her pronunciation is ... unless it matches some particular style ...it won't fetch the max marks !!!! its pretty ridiculous .

    • @E2PTE
      @E2PTE  6 лет назад +2

It’s programmed with “native speakers”. Your aim is to hit those sounds as closely as possible to a native speaker. You don’t have to sound British or Aussie etc. It’s definitely a high benchmark.

There are lots of gussess and it is done case by case basis. I know more than hundred of non natives and my normally speaking indian friends who scored 90. So don’t stress too much about that. You start changing things thinking that and that is where things go wrong. It is a myth.
