Fave drink, Coca-Cola. Not the Zero, or the No Sugar, or the damn diet, just normal regular 40 tons of sugar Coca-Cola. 👍 Emergency supply of Lemon Squash for when I run out of Coca-Cola. 😎
Guys as I come from the same Australian state as Woody and Al I think we need to explain the whole lemon squash thing once and for all. Lemon squash is a common Australian soft drink / soda made by a company called Kirks. It's fizzy, full of sugar and has a lemon flavour funnily enough. XXXX gold is a mid strength beer which rightly or wrongly is very very popular in Queensland. It also comes in a yellow can. So, saying they are having a lemon squash was actually a piss take (joke) that they were really drinking beer. As the joke has progressed they've made it even funnier by actually drinking lemon squash on occasions as well. As they usually have their cans in coolers it is often hard to tell if they are drinking beer or lemon squash even though the shades of yellow are a bit different. And yes, the skid factory building on the T shirts does bear some resemblance to the beer factory in Brisbane where the XXXX gold beer is made. I have really enjoyed this build due to the complexity of the engineering required to make it all work. This is why it takes so long. If it was quick or easy everyone would be doing it and where's the challenge in that. Hopefully the boys have got all their engineering specifications spot on and Millsy can get all the modifications signed off to get it registered in Queensland. Somehow I think that Turbo Yoda is already all over that issue as he is a perfect example of a master Australian mechanic / fabricator / engineer / larrikin.
Yep, hard to find 'em in the UK because they all fell apart as soon as they got wet (which happens often in Britain ). Anyone who thinks that van is rusty hasn't seen rust.
You guys are absolute legends!! Really appreciate you going to the effort of filming and putting yourselves out there. Genuine froth every time a new episode dropped. Don’t let this be the last Barra build!!! Also let’s see some moto footage! cheers boys, off to buy a stubby cooler
I’ve meet Uncle Rodney twice, messy bastard, never pays for anything, damages other people’s stuff, won’t stay home and always leaves you with a huge debt
As someone who lives in the rustbelt (northern New York state), I know what rust looks like and that van was not rusty at all. It was really solid for the year. Anytime we buy a car here, even something only a couple of years old, we're under the damn thing before we even open the hood or listen to it run looking for rotten floorpans and subframe assemblies. Sometimes people are just dumb and quick to comment. Looking forward to the next build. oh and favorite drink is either a seltzer (I am from New York... lets be real) or diet mountain dew. :)

Thanks for helping inspire us gear heads around the world...

Only problem I've had with my 7.3 is rocker arms, all stock except the tune.

I'm guessing the rust concerns came mainly from over here in the UK, where most Bedfords would go rusty while still in the showroom wating to be sold

Its the wrong colour to be rust. Not orange enough. As you said, we Brits know rust.
Living in Minnesota USA that van would be considered mint, the salt from deicing the roadways makes everything rust to pieces.
