What about JT Thomas in Survivor Tocantins? Beloved by fans and fellow contestants alike in Tocantins, J.T. commanded very strong loyalties, even to the point that some players explicitly stated that helping J.T. win the game was as important as, or more important than, winning the game themselves. His force of personality helped him become the first castaway to play a "perfect game". Now that is something that should've made the Top 5.
I actually convinced myself Matt was going to comeback from Redemption Island, win the final two immunity challenges and then win it at FTC going into the season 22 finale. I thought Rob's edit was so obvious it had to be a misdirection for a person who got voted off twice winning.
Honorable mentions: Mike Holloway - "the winner of this season is on this mat" and then cuts to him, being of the few somewhat likeable players. Earl - it was pretty clear it was him or Yau-man winning. Dee(at least from the new era)- the scene where she talked about her long big toes just screamed "secret scene" yet it wasnt, made a few blunders that she somehow got away with(voting Sifu instead of Sean, telling Julie she AND Austin are her number 1's)
The way Tommy is still my only pre-season winner pick that I got right and when I finished watching episode 1, I was at peace... I knew I had made the right choice. Specially when he completely disappeared in the merge episode, that only solidified for me he was winning. A good 7 episodes before the annoucement of the winner.
Boston Rob literally had a season made for him to finally win. He's absolutely number one I'm not sorry. Also I'm gonna take a stab and say I have a feeling I know who the least edited winner is lol.
It wasn't made for him to win, he was just put into a really good position he took advantage of. The worst is definitely Cagayan where Jeff said Spencer has ZERO chance of winning and Tony probably doesn't win Spencer makes it to the top four with very high win equity and Tony wins and goes on to become a two time winner
Best is without question his comments about Russell Hantz in Samoa. Probst nails exactly why Russell is going to lose before the game even starts and it amazes me what a 180 he pulled even though he was right.
So I just had an idea for a video but I don't really know how it would work. The last few seasons we have had contestants describe themselves as being "Charlie Brown" with things not going their way. So what about a video ranking the top 5 or top 10 most "Charlie Brown" contestants based on how lucky (or unlucky I guess) they are With Cagayan Spencer obviously being number one

It’s so clear now, and I won’t be able to unsee it as I finish the season out. I’m not a huge fan of the cast as a whole, but I thought I was more attuned than this😆
To be honest, Kim wasn't really obvious to me until episode five, when she came barreling out of the editing gates. For the first four episodes, I thought it was Sabrina.
I think Tony's edit in winners at war should be an honorable mention. My stepdad watched 1 episode with me mid-season (not even the premiere or finale) and predicted that Tony would win and he's not even a regular Survivor watcher lol
This list needed to be a top 10 because, while it's hard to argue any of your choices, a list of most obvious winners that doesn't include Tom Westman, Yul, Earl, Todd, and JT doesn't seem complete. And that's forgetting Tyson as well.
I was only like 16 at the time but I recall thinking that Amanda was going to win China. Makes me want to rewatch that season again actually as it has been quite some time since I have seen it.
I would disagree with those picks. They all were favourites, but at least you can point to some realistic dark horses in each season: Tom had Ian and Gregg Yul had Ozzy Earl had Yau-Man Todd had Amanda and even Peih-Gee to a lesser extent JT had Stephen until the final 30 minutes of the season Who in One World could you look at and say "Man, Kim needs to sleep with one eye open".
@johndebono1870 that's true of everyone except Kim and Rob who are obvious #1 and #2. Tommy had Lauren and Jan, Cochran had Dawn who many people thought was going to win at FTC and Sarah had Brad and Cirie
@johndebono1870 I've watched every season multiple times. Outside of Ozzy, all the players we both listed had very little winner's equity from an editing perspective compared to the eventual winner. Players like Stephen, Jan, Yau Man, and Cirie all had positive edits from a fan favorite perspective but paled in winner equity compared to JT, Tommy, Earl, and Sarah. Let's use Stephen as an example. He may have plenty of fans rooting for him to win over JT, but no one in their right mind who follows Survivor edits would actually have considered him a real threat to JT's win when the edit was bending over backwards to portray JT is the most positive light possible, including having players literally confess they were playing for JT to win. And I was very involved in the online community during Caramoan and the Dawn vs Cochran debate was very prevalent throughout the end game. It's easy to look back in hindsight and see that Cochran was the favorite due to how the annoyed the jury was with Dawn's crying, but watching live, it was not nearly as evident. I don't disagree that Cochran's win is obvious, but my point is that all the winners I mentioned were incredibly obvious based on the shows edit.
I feel like Tyson/Mike H/Jeremy deserves honorable mentions(ok maybe not Jeremy cause I can see why someone would fall for Spencer's edit in Cambodia or even think Wentworth would win) I feel like Tommy should be #1 simply because at time I and some people deadass thought Karishma won and the edit was fucking with us on purpose because we thought it couldn't have been that obvious Tommy won
My girlfriend tells me that Tommy had an absolutely incredible game, and was a very dominant winner. I don't entirely believe her, but if that's true, I feel really bad for the guy. Imagine winning *Survivor* and that accomplishment is completely overshadowed because your season had Dan Spilo.
I feel like Tommy's win gets overlooked a lot because of that, yeah. I don't know if I would say he was a very DOMINANT winner, but he was definitely a winner that impressed me. He played an incredible social game, considering he won in the "big moves" era without winning a challenge, without making fire, without having 900 advantages thrown his way, he (I think) always knew what was going down each round... Does it make for entertaining, flashy television (Hi Dean)? No. Is it good gameplay? Absolutely.
Top 3 of that list are Amanda, Coach, and Mick, because all three went from the jury favorites going into FTC to completely choking in front of the jury

Marcus will probably be number 1. I think they edited him that way bc even the editors knew that if they didn’t have that twist at the final 10 and instead just merged like most normal seasons, Marcus would’ve steamrolled to the end and won dominantly
@@Quetzal00358 Marcus beats Russell, because with Russell, there's so much footage of people getting annoyed by him, and then we have the early game Natalie confessional where she lines out her strategy about how she's going to beat him, and it works just like she said, whereas with Marcus, there really isn't any negative content featured around his edit, especially since at the beginning, we get the whole Charlie having a crush on Marcus moment
If we expand this to international survivor, one season of South African survivor had a winner that was sooooo dominating, I’m thinking “no way this guy wins right? Must be a decoy like Rick Devons or Russel Hantz. No way it’s this obvious”
I agree with this list but I'd give Ben an honourable mention. Obvious idol plants plus a heavy portrayal as the poor underdog who everyone wants to get rid of.
I'm shocked Earl is not on here as his edit is not far off of Kim's edit. The edit literally calls him the King of Fiji. For me, his win is the second most obvious in Survivor history only outshown by Kim.
No. It was just when the cast was released at the time of One World most people called Kim winning. They also did promos back then for specific players and Kim was one of the few players that got one. The other players that did were Leif, Alicia, Colton, and the. Tarzan and Toryzan shared one. Kim was also called an all around threat in hers and was built up quite a bit. Then the show started airing and it became blatant that Kim was the winner.
Rob and Cochran though....wow. When I rewatched years after... holy crap , did they set those up... That should have been absolutely obvious appeared which I believe it was. And KIM....UGHHH.
Yknow with previously on survivor I think it could be kinda fun if they did something similar to the challenge where the cast does a different bit each episode for the previously on the challnge Although I do prefer just showing what happened like they did in survivor 45 instead of having Jeff narrate
Seriously?? No Earl's ''poker face'' and ''Earl's Island''??? My frigging cat at the time pegged him as the winner after episode 1 and he ate his own vomit.
Kim benefited from the worst and most stupid cast in Survivor history. Why she's treated like such a great winner in that context, I will never understand. I live in the real world where Natalie Anderson played the game people give Kim unearned credit for.
I feel like it would be totally possible to just rank premiere episodes edgically on a scale of 1-Tommy. Since holy cow, it is so cookiecutter winner edit it's not even ironically funny
Before I even listen to your list: Jet, Todd, Ethan, Cochran when he actually won, Rob Mariano when he actually won--that one was just SCREAMINGLY obvious--and I'll leave the rest to you. Come up with some women for us gals in your audience, won't you? I don't know why I'm struggling with that. Denise, kinda...? But Malcom was, the, the obvious decoy winner. Oh, and Maryanne, because how could she NOT win with that personality?

@@Quetzal00358 Marcus beats Russell, because with Russell, there's so much footage of people getting annoyed by him, and then we have the early game Natalie confessional where she lines out her strategy about how she's going to beat him, and it works just like she said, whereas with Marcus, there really isn't any negative content featured around his edit, especially since at the beginning, we get the whole Charlie having a crush on Marcus moment
you gonna credit brice with that issa look on kim or what?
If we expand this to international survivor, one season of South African survivor had a winner that was sooooo dominating, I’m thinking “no way this guy wins right? Must be a decoy like Rick Devons or Russel Hantz. No way it’s this obvious”
I agree with this list but I'd give Ben an honourable mention. Obvious idol plants plus a heavy portrayal as the poor underdog who everyone wants to get rid of.
no background music?
Video Idea : Survivor contestants as 7 deadly sins
Ben on HHH was the most obvious winners edit to me. I knew he won episode 1.
I'm shocked Earl is not on here as his edit is not far off of Kim's edit. The edit literally calls him the King of Fiji. For me, his win is the second most obvious in Survivor history only outshown by Kim.
okay now that i have an idea of what winner’s edits actually are.. i think charlie might be getting it this season (season 46)
Fun Fact: The player who is shown on the top center of the season’s poster is always the one who wins.
The only exceptions are PI, AS, IOTI and WAW.
I’m still relatively new to survivor so why does Kim’s pose mean she’s gonna win? Is this a trend?
Come see my band “Kim & The Women” this friday
Let me place my guess now: Vecepia will be in the least obvious edit video next week
Rob and Cochran though....wow. When I rewatched years after... holy crap , did they set those up... That should have been absolutely obvious appeared which I believe it was. And KIM....UGHHH.
3:08 I did not. 😳
omg im shocked jt didn't make it in! that edit was so obvious to me in tocantins hahaha
Cochran and excuse the spelling was the first time where I clearly felt I knew the winner based on the edit really early
My top 10:
Kim
Cochran
Boston Rob
Sarah
Tyson
Natalie A.
Jeremy
Michelle
Adam
Tommy
Maryann's win was the most obvious for me. I clocked it in episode 1 and not once did the edit ever make me waver off her
I think Natalie had a really strong winners edit too!
now make a most unexpected winners version! we all know gabler would be #1 lolll
Natalie White
I'd have Natalie White on that list too. At least they kept shoving Aligabler hiding in plain sight confessionals lol
Fabio
DEE. It was incredibly obvious she was going to win from early post-merge. And she had no competition.
I do not like the color you used for CPP in the thumbnail. Cyan = CP, blue = CPP
You are 100% correct and I have fixed it. Thank you!
@@IdoledOut i thought i was going crazy when i saw it changed
So any time Andrea shows up you can pretty much check out.
Poor Andrea, always a good player but plays against titans
Yknow with previously on survivor I think it could be kinda fun if they did something similar to the challenge where the cast does a different bit each episode for the previously on the challnge
Although I do prefer just showing what happened like they did in survivor 45 instead of having Jeff narrate
2:54
And now Australian Survivor season 11 has Val
Ooh yeah Cochran is Jeff's Pool boy!!! Hahahaha!!!!
How about the most purple players from every season?
Wouldn’t that involve a whole lot of “Wait, who?”
That got super negative while talking about s26
i had nooooooooooo idea!!
I’ve yet to watch the full video, but if Tommy isn’t on here…
Seriously?? No Earl's ''poker face'' and ''Earl's Island''??? My frigging cat at the time pegged him as the winner after episode 1 and he ate his own vomit.
I cant wait to see chris at number 1!
Kim had more CP on her than Mike Skupin for crying out loud
Please tell me CP stands for something other than Mike Skupin's type of CP
@@Quetzal00358it does - Complex Positive in the Edgic community
Tommy should be #1 but that’s my only nitpick
Tommy’s had a really good reason of course
Who is Jet?
@@iLoveTheEighties80 , oh, JT. Won Tocantins. Sorry.
Priya had the most obvious winner edit. Change my mind
