I became an orthodox Christian in 2017 and I’m still learning more and more every single day because the faith established and taught by Christ is as deep and complex as God is. Not understanding something doesn’t make it untrue. No one knows how many mistakes are in the texts. We do not have the originals. Christians often talk about how reliable these texts are, but they aren’t. They are no more reliable than any other ancient texts and in fact, we don’t even know how many mistakes there are. I love Sam's questions and deep understanding of the Quran. As a Muslim he makes me better understand the verses in the Quran that confirm the Jewish and Christian Bibles. I'm not a fan of Salafi Islam. Instead view that all righteous and God fearing Jews, Christians, and Muslims will by God's grace enter paradise. I think what makes Islam attractive to Daniel is not its theological purity over Christianity. Rabi Singer shows that Judaism also has a simple and pure understanding of monotheism. Rather, Islam as a way of life and practice is wholesome in connecting with God at a deep level through daily prayers, fasting, etc. That said, if my Christian brothers and sisters reject modern liberal indoctrination in favor of tradition, just like Sam, they too can approximate Islam's practices. It's just difficult as a Christian to find the right community to do that. On the theological front, I know of many more complexities in Islam and the Quran that would resonate with the trinity or even pantheism. The benefit of Islam is that pure monotheism is never lost when diving into these topics. Of course Sam is also great at keeping his eye focused on God, the creator, when talking about Christ and the trinity. Maybe that's why he was attracted to Islam years ago and why he left it, because he naturally focuses on the one true God without getting confused with the trinity. For other Christians its not so easy. I've seen Christians praising the son way more than the father, yet Christ in the Bible says to pray to the father. May Christians learn the religion of Christ and his teachings better through Sam. May Muslims learn about the more complex sides of their religion with Sam. May God guide us all. Amen.
