This performance was absolutely moving. I love Kristi's presence on the ice, always so polished and graceful. The "mistake" at the end is irrelevant when you look at the whole package. There's no one like her!
It wasn't a "mistake" technically...she had already done a triple toe loop in combination with a triple flip...so a double toe loop after a split jump is quite sufficient. Since she did a triple lutz/double toe loop combo, a triple/triple combo, double axel, triple loop...so to win a Professional championship with this is quite sufficient. Some make a deal about her not having the triple salchow, but she could do it, just not consistantly...apparently it is NOT liked by many skaters, do to the way the entry to the jump is done with the swinging leg that supposed to assist the skater to get into the air off of the opposite leg without a toe pick assist...I have heard MANY skaters, male and female say that although it is looked upon as an "easy" jump it just isn't a comfortable take off...but I must say for those who can do it, it is a beautiful jump. Although I SWEAR the prettiest jump has to be the loop. (not toe loop, just loop)
Kristi is truly an artist on the ice. Plus, all of her costumes are so cute, but still modest, a lot of the time, ice skater outfits are WAY too lowcut. But her's are simply beautiful.
Standing ovation for you Ms. Kristi Yamaguchi for a great performance that, I would say was topped with jewels of elegance and gracefulness. Congratulations!🏆💐
Just beaultiful. I remember watching this on edge as I rooted for her. This program is so elegant and gracefully peaceful. The choreography of this skate with the music, the entry and exits of jumps and combination spins, and the delicate hand gestures and balletic movements, really makes this program an ARTISTRY 101... sort of Kristi's practice and meditation on artistic figure skating. It's as if this program was done in a ballet training hall.
It's beautiful. The only criticism I have is that she doesn't get a lot of height in her jumps which is probably why she doubled the triple toe in the end as good as she is.
the double toe loop at the end is NOT a mistake...she didn't need the triple...she had already done a triple toe loop in combination with a triple flip earlier in the program. ...
every skater has a jump that gives them a bit more trouble than the others...for MANY skaters it is the salchow...the reason is that it is an edge jump, taking off and landing on opposite leg, but the free leg is used to help "vault" the skater into the air by swinging that free leg up and over the jumping leg, leading with the HEEL not the toe....IF the skater allows the free leg to swing around and lead with the TOE and NOT the heel it ISN'T a salchow at that point.
I remember watching this, she is the best!! Bravo!! 👏🏻
The very best choreographed skate I've EVER seen.
That's what you call "On Point."
EXCELLENT!!!

Such beauty, such grace. Truly an outstanding Olympian. We are very proud of her
Kristi is one of the few geatest figure ice skaters of all time! Very clean and fluid routine. So feminine yet strong!

I love this song and of course Kristi's skating also.

beautiful and oh so graceful!
she's like floating on ice!!
Forceful choreography, loose-limbed gesture, romantic melody…
It’s very touching!
bellisima!!!! I just love her- even if she doubled her last jump, her poise makes it looked so damned polished. love it
that was just beautiful
That's my music !!!!!!!!!!
She never had big spectacular jumps like Midori Ito, but she was a pretty consistent jumper.
it s beautiful!!
Beautiful! ❤️❤️❤️

My second all-time favorite skate.
So beautiful.

triple flip, triple toe combo, wow!
eleganza classe sicurezza:é una libellula.Incantevole
She never could do the salchow.
she didn't need to.
She has an Olympic gold, 2 Worlds, and a National Champion. Didn't need it. She's iconic and a legend.
