Sometimes in the course of a life, even amid its pain and tragedy, you hear something so beautiful, so transcendent, that the pain and tragedy are relegated into a secondary status. This performance, for me, is a moment of such hearing. Part of its magic - no, its grace - is in the orchestration and the voice/presence of Susanna Phillips, and part of it is in the wondrous choir that supports the performance, each member unique, but somehow joined together to create the beauty. If only a phrase like "thank you" could capture the feeling of gratitude I feel, and I'm sure many others feel. But I suppose our gratitude, too, however feebly expressed, is likewise part of the grace. Isn't that what makes life meaningful: the beauty of performance, to be sure, and also the togetherness.
Excellente chanteuse !
TOP DEL TOP ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
❤️❤️❤️
Spettacolare! Bravissimi
Znakomita interpretacja

Who is the singer? She is one of the few who sing this piece beautifully.
Susanna Phillips!
of the Met Opera and other stages. She does this every year at St John
but not this year. The soloist was a regular chorister, albeit very advanced. She wore surplice and robe, not a gown, and stood in the sanctuary with the other choristers and instrumentalists, in sight of the conductor, not right in front of the congregation as Philips did. There are advantages to being placed in the heart of the ensemble.
That is garbage singing. Why do you tolerate wobbles and squeezing?
The hym seems loveliest in French instead of English.
