We continue the series on attachment with a presentation about the role of fathers in attachment development.
Psychoanalysis should be free! From this motto, we're looking at making the insights of more than a century of psychoanalytic understanding available to everyone and everywhere.
These videos are like developing a film print--as the chemicals slowly wash over the paper, it is revealed what parts of attachment are present and which are conspicuously absent.
Thank you for my Neurosis growing up in a Serbian family. My parents victims of World War 2 as children.
Great content!
Can you comment on some mothers having to engage in rough and tumble play after age 3, similarly to some fathers having to provide early attachment.
Isn't this exactly pulling the child away from the comfort of the mother? Isint encouraging exploration, encouraging separation?
In Robert Stoller studies of transgender males, one of the things he observed was that the father was distant and unavailable because of work etc. So the child remained in close contact with the mother. So there was no father to encourage exploration, nothing to pull the child away from the comfort of the mother.
