    I wish you dove into his defensive stats as well. He has done a fantastic job in that sense for the team, and he should be praised for that side of the game too

      I remember people saying he's fickle and weak but his defensive presence is underrated.

      He definitely puts the work in I just question his overall defensive awareness like when defending in a block or tracking a runner. Can't question his pressing game though.

      @@StatmanDavea left 8 doesn’t have to be defensively excellent as long as he is good that’s enough. With havertz he just have to be more confident on the ball and face the opponent’s instead of turning his back to them and getting outmuscled I trust artetas vision for havertz I don’t feed into all the negativity

    Ngl from the little i saw of him at Chelsea last season I think he has been alot better under Arteta.. He had 2 very poor games starting out with Arsenal but i've watched him more closely off the ball since then and I think he backtracks so much better than Xhaka did and his movement and passing has been great... Nowhere near hit his potential yet but I think as time goes on this could become a very interesting signing by us in that none of us know what his best position is but he's working hard and with a bit more confidence I think we could see that player he was at Leverkusen eventually.

  • @LightzyOG
    @LightzyOG 11 месяцев назад +5

    Arsenal getting a real #9 will help unlock Kai Havertz as well. Some of his best highlights at Leverkusen came from 1-2 link ups with the striker and also playing forward passes for the striker to run on to. Once his confidence is back 100% we might see him command the left side of the field with Martinelli while Odegaard can handle the right with Saka.

    Havertz has to do the simple things right. In the games at LCM he rarely looked to offer himself in between the lines doesn’t seem comfortable when the opposition are around him. Last game was encouraging where he crashed late in the box. Arteta wants him a LCM, that’s Havertz position to win. Havertz has to offer himself more and either dribble or pass to advance and crash late in the box. Realistically that something he should be able to do but I wonder the fact he surrounded by opposition, he finds this difficult. If he can’t win that LCM position I don’t see a future for him at Arsenal.

      Havertz seems a lot like the Mount deal to Man Utd - I can definitely see the reasoning behind why they've been signed but their new club's best players play in their positions (Saka/Ødegaard + Bruno Fernandes)

    I suppose Havertz is going to be a clutch moment player a lot more going forward. If the OG lineup doesn’t work, and Saka/Martinelli double and triple teamed, Arteta can always sacrifice either Trossard or Jesus or both, and bring in Havertz to play as a second striker to either, or Nketiah. It would vex opponents if used at opportune moments.
    Good breakdown, mate. Very precise.

    • @rushnafwadud
      @rushnafwadud 11 месяцев назад

      PS. It also adds and aids Eddie Nketiah as another clutch player off the bench, or an alternative starter. He seems more like a two striker system guy as well, as spoken about by a lot of analysts, when his football style is compared to that of an Ian Wright’s.

    Simple solution, swap odegaard and havertz in the cm roles, ask ode to take a bit more defensive responsibility and link play deeper and let havertz cause havoc with runs underlapping Saka to take the double teams away from him

    • @Undone545
      @Undone545 11 месяцев назад

      I hear you but you play your best players in their best positions as much as you can. Taking somebody who performed consistently out of their position to put in some one who "might" perform is arse backwards

    • @ianstandley297
      @ianstandley297 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@Undone545 odegaard has not been great this season. He hasn’t linked as well with Saka and it might change the flow of the attack for the better. We really miss what Xhaka offered last season as no one has been able to fill in the lcm as well consistently
      Ode can still get forward as zinchenko inverts. Just an idea to try something different as I’m sure he can operate at a high level in the left half space and channel and Havertz is at his best slightly right off centre

    In preseason Odegaard was playing deeper and made brilliant through passes and switches to Martinelli only for Arteta to move him higher and play Partey as an inverted right back, play Havertz in a double pivot and bench Gabriel. Since then Arsenal looked lost.
    Even Trossard had a good game against Barca in preseason as LCM but it has taken almost 4 months for Arteta to play him there again.

    I think people forget that Arsenal is an oiled machine and works perfectly as a team, were no player has to make a 50 goal Messi/Ronaldo season.
    Havertz totaly wasnt bought to score many goals and idk when people started to think that Havertz is this typical goal getter? (maybe because Chealse played him as Striker, cause they had no one else?)
    Anyways Arsenal works as a team and he deffinetly is a player that is always putting his ego behind the team and does exactly what the coach wants from him (he recently said that in an interview too, that he values that alot at Arsenal, that everyone is working for the team and this is the most important thing for him)
    His difensiv stats are realy good and in his recent games that I've seen, he usaly does the right decisions, makes good runs and always finds the right rooms and positions to be in, where he can score and thats gives the other players around him more room to score.
    He also seems to be able to play many positions (he even played as a left back in our national team recently and his difensiv work was one of the best on our national team and he was better then some actual defenders)
    What also makes him such and interesting and special player is his size of 1,90m

    i feel like he cant be a ramdeuter right now because Jesus is all over the field and not being the target of a defences focus. thats why it worked when Nketiah came on against brentford. because he is less likely to roam as much as Jesus
