**CORRECTION** Lol a quick correction on my correction on the North Carolina Brothers...It is Harry, Grover & Spencer Robbins! I mistakenly put a * correction and added Spencer's name with the Herschend Family.
Feel free to check out part 1 of this 2 part series ft. Storybook Amusement over on his channel on the history of Blazing Fury's predecessor, Fire-in-the-hole at Silver Dollar City! While you're there subscribe to his awesome channel!

I was able to go to Silver Dollar City when I was about 5 years old. A year or two later it became Dollywood and a couple years after that I got to go back & have been back several times over the years. It’s amazing how although the park has gotten much bigger it still has most of the things it had when it was silver dollar city. Very little in those areas have changed.

3:30 This scene used to look like a forest with owls and trees, and a pond with some giant toads and was called "frog alley". The frogs are now hiding under the porch of the folks in the rockers as you exit the scene.
3:58 Around this corner to the left is a water tower with a sign that says "Timber Tower water Supply" which is a reference to the removed attraction Timber Tower. A bucket on a rope also falls. Riders used to be lightly splashed with water from the water tower here. That is immediately followed by a porch with 2 ENORMOUS hunks of fools gold, and a sign that reads "Assaying Office" which is meant to act as a nod to Mystery Mine. All of that is skipped in the jump-cut to the scene with Molly.
4:57 The sign reading "Paradise Road Bridge, DANGER, BRIDGE OUT" is a nod to the 50's style theatre show "Paradise Road" that was beloved by many in the park before it was replaced by "DreamLand Drive-In". This show is also referenced in a decal on the yellow classic car in front of Lightning Rod.
5:30 This train light used to swivel left and right, which gave a VERY heightened illusion that a train was navigating a twisted tunnel and was VERY cool. The swiveling of the light was also kinder on your eyes.

I just got back from Dollywood. I gotta say, Blazing Fury is SUPER out of place. It's surrounded by modern coasters and fair-type rides, so I was very confused about it still being there other than for nostalgia. It gave me the vibe of Monster Mansion in Six Flags over Georgia, which is praise because I fucking love that ride. Anyway, it was honestly hella impressive and had some DECENT thrills with its three drops. Also the guy operating it was hilarious.

It is a fantastic old ride with a lot of charm and I hope it stays around for many more decades. I can't wait to check out Storybook Amusements either, it looks like a really interesting channel!

Hey Vicki! Believe it or not...my favorite types of videos to make are actually these historical videos so I'm glad you enjoyed it! But nice! The weather should be perfect for your visit! I'll be there this weekend then again late April for the flower & food festival! Should be awesome! But as always, glad you enjoyed and more to come!

2:32 Please understand this particular segment of track is the "Train Dip" (2nd drop) and was reprofiled by RMC after the park worked with them for Lightning Rod. The original in house segment of track was not so smooth.

Ahh...thank you, Morgan! Lol I wasnt sure...that's why I said that i believe appears to be the side of her home cause we see her home then turn the corner and we're looking at something from the side...but it's the bridge on fire! 😅 lol thank you so much for that correction!
