    I just finished the third pack. I am having abdominal pain, and slightly altered state of consciousness (however that could also be due to the covid,). I don't have primary care doctor (almost nonexistent where I live) the ER referred me to the pharmacist, who encouraged me to continue, but I am not sure.

    I went through a course of Paxlovid in July 2023. Although I am 73 my overall health is quite excellent so I don't believe I should have been given this in the first place. What a horrible medication. I felt awful while taking it. It gives you a horrible taste in your mouth that does not subside. I will never use that medication again.

      @JohnA000 you felt bad because of the virus not Paxlovid. The metal taste in the mouth is a mere inconvenience for keeping you out of tge hospital

      Did the metallic taste go away after the 5 day doses?

      @@rickdawkins5025 after I stopped it, yes. But if I get covid again I'm not taking that.

    Concise and clearly explained !. Currently, the Paxolovid doses are reduced to one pill each for day and night dosage. My side effects are metallic tastes, dry-mouth and the runs which you have confirmed..

    My wife ALT is 68 has been for awhile. She got covid and took Paxlovid after one day she got pain up in the side where the liver is. I told her to stop taking it better to be safe the pain went away next day. Doctor told her it was an option to take it or not, but we went to an urgent care likely they didn't know about her high ALT. I had read some stories online people who had normal liver numbers after taking the medication the numbers were lot higher like 120 ALT. It took several months for ALT to come back down to the normal range.

    I tested positive and my provider prescribed this and I took my first dose and immediately had a horrible horrific taste in my mouth that has continued to last, facial numbness, swollen tongue and lips! I’m a 46 yr old woman. I will NOT be continuing this drug!

    Why is it no one creating videos telling people to use natural remedies that can help them as well? Instead of these pills?

    It worked for me. Am 70 was running 103 degree fever with spikes in the 105 degree range. That was only after a day and a half with cv19. It helped me a lot.

    Taking Paxlovid ATM after being diagnosed with covid for the very first time on Friday 9/6/24. The taste isn't that bad as I chew my pain pills because I can't swallow pills and it taste like that. I know these paxlovid can't be chewed. Anyway, the worst side effect is diarrhea and the pain feeling you get after surgery on your stomach.

    Why take Paxlovid (especially from Pfizer) if current Covid strains are so mild? I'm a 70 y/o asthmatic who tested for Covid three days ago (6/29/24). Never got Covid previously (Moderna vaccine and one follow up booster in 2020). I have a 1/2 to 1 degree fever and rough throat and cough. Symptoms are no more than a mild cold relieved by occasional Ibuprofen.

    Does paxlovid interact with anti seizure drugs such as amitryptline that my younger brother is on?

    • @ThinkYourHealth
      @ThinkYourHealth  10 месяцев назад +1

      Here is a resource you can look at which medications not to be on when taking Paxlovid. www.fda.gov/media/155051/download. Amitriptyline is an anti-depressant and used to stabilise mood.
      Here is another resource with access data: www.accessdata.fda.gov/drugsatfda_docs/label/2023/217188s000lbl.pdf.Page 7 list all the posssible drugs which can interact with Paxlovid.Talk to your local pharmacist or doctor as they are aware of your family members medication and past medical history.
