    Check out the new Knipex TwinGrip Pliers here! ruclips.net/video/dSPTEk64GoY/видео.html one of the new innovative tools Knipex released this past year! Truly a handy pair to have

    If you watched the original Knipex intro videos, you would also realise that the blade position can be changed if you need to get a flush cut of a pipe against the wall. Spare blades are also stored in a small compartment in the tool itself. A really neat design!

    I'm definitely going to have to get one of these. I have just a normal ratcheting pvc cutter in my bag for apartment complex maintenance, and I hate how bulky they are and take up space in my already too full tool bag. This will save space and weight.

    Great product and review! One thing that I really liked is the fact they adjust very fast to the size of pvc you wanna cut, also they fit in the hands like a glove. 👏👏👏

    I have this tool and is very practical for electricians. The blade holder is also reversible, for cutting very close to the surface. And inside of the tool you also have two more blades. I like knipex tools, they are very innovative, the new twingrip, pliers, cutix utility knife and the little xs pliers wrench. I have all of them.

    Off topic but a couple of Knipex tools that you might find useful ; the Knipex 13 02 614 [ 160 mm Needle nose ( tethered) three ferrule crimping dies , stripping positions for 10 , 12, and 14 AWG ] . It also has a metric brother , the 13 02 160 ( in the event you need to play with offshore applieces etc !

    Looks like a handy cutter and not to bad a price against the plier style of pipe cutter, especially the ratchet type. I use a plier type at the moment for cutting plastic conduit, but still have to use light pressure and spin the conduit in the cutter, otherwise it has a tendency to cut at an angle.

    Would this work for 3/4 " pipe for drain lines on hvac equipment?

    • @MillisConstruction
      @MillisConstruction  2 года назад

      I haven’t tried it on full thickness pipe but I will and let you know. It’s basically just a razor sharp knife blade cutting so the thicker it is the more rotations you’d have to make to get through it.

    Yeah but now test it on schedule 40 inside a wall. The drain pipe on my bathtub broke and it was a real fight to reach inside the access hole I cut out to make that repair.

    • @MillisConstruction
      @MillisConstruction  2 года назад +4

      This is not designed for that use. This is a thin wall pipe cutter primarily for when the pipe requires support around it to prevent splitting or cracking during the cutting process.
      I use a superior tool ratcheting pipe cutter for schedule 40. If it’s super tight there are wire rope saws that can usually get it done if nothing else will 😅. Thanks for checking it out!

    • @rjsprojects
      @rjsprojects 2 года назад +1

      @@MillisConstruction yeah I looked it up and saw that it was not rated for sched 40 which is about 6 mm. Still a nice pipe cutter thanks!

    • @waytospergtherebro

      You can score schedule 40 with it and make it easier to keep a much larger blade perpendicular.

    Hate mine total rubbish. It's hard work to keep it clamped. Especially under a bath. It's not as good as a fixed round cutter for a specific pipe size like the rothenberger

  • @adamderoches8723
    @adamderoches8723 2 года назад

    Does it cut abs?

    • @MillisConstruction
      @MillisConstruction  2 года назад +1

      This is for thin wall pipe that needs support to cut it without cracking or splitting primarily. I haven’t tried cutting schedule 40
      Or anything like that. It might do it but it’s basically a razor blade at an angle so you’d be turning awhile on anything thick for sure.
