      LOL, I kept it in the video thought it was honest. I didn't have the air turned up enough and the ash was way harder that I thought. Those stands are heavy

    A good lesson in saw horse design. That same technique can be used to make any width and height saw horse. Thank you for sharing.

    The aerial video really enhances the beauty of your operations there Doug! Almost as tho Katy is a day early this week, or a bonus video. Yes cold weather is slow to depart these parts too. But at least some beneficial rain this morning after all these many dry months. Happy Planting! -Bob...

    Thank you for the shoutout guys. I am anxiously looking forward to seeing your results. Have you thought of doing a cost comparison between the 2 methods? That would also be cool.
    We got 54 pounds out of the greenhouse this week

      Good idea. 54 ponds of strawberries. That is awesome. Your strawberry house is killing it! Great job!!!!

    Coarse coir chunks are you friend. I find shallow promix too sludgy at the bottom. Perlite loosens it at the cost of water retention. The coarse coir I found helped (when used with perlite) and when I pulled out the strawberries the roots were wrapped around all the chunks.

    Such a fun video!! I’m
    Excited to see what the strawberries 🍓 look like!! Can you keep last years plants and have your own dormant plants for the next year?

    • @HomegrownPassion
      @HomegrownPassion  2 года назад +1

      Yes, you can. We did not from last year but this year we are going to try and replant them outside in a enclose area where the deer can't get them. We will probably get new stock each year for the Bato buckets just to make sure our production is consistent year to year.

    Great video! Do you keep your strawberry plants over winter or purchase new plants?

    • @HomegrownPassion
      @HomegrownPassion  2 года назад +1

      we are planning on this year. We have to make an enclosures to keep the deer away. These strawberries are new stock

    Hey there Katy , why are you calling it soil ? Is that promix not just coco/perlite mix?

    • @HomegrownPassion
      @HomegrownPassion  2 года назад

      yes, but not sure what to call it. When i said before it was hydroponic because it what not grown in soil i got comments saying it was soil. LOL tell me what I should call it

    • @Niftynexuss
      @Niftynexuss 2 года назад

      @@HomegrownPassion Haha Promix is definitely hydroponic and not soil so i would just call it promix or coco to avoid confusion. Thanks for all your videos i enjoy them tremendously !

    • @teac117
      @teac117 2 года назад

      Promix has no coco. It's mostly peat with a tiny bit of perlite, lime, and vermiculite/wetting agent. I think potting mix would be the most common term between gardeners and soil scientists (who'd brille at it being called just 'soil') LOL. 'Soil' is typically reserved for glacial grind mix that can provide some trace minerals, unlike the wholly inert hydroponic substrates we're using.

    Why not turn the high tunnel into another hydroponic set-up. Plant the stuff in there outside

    • @HomegrownPassion
      @HomegrownPassion  2 года назад

      So we tried that last year and it worked great. Just trying something new this year. We cant plant outside with out tons of fencing because of all the deer and animals like to eat our stuff...

    You really should have turned up the air pressure. Needing to use the hammer made the job twice as hard.
