I never saw any update on those grow bags for the strawberries, how did they work out for you?
Video will be up on Friday!
what the heck , wonderful you are making time off !!!! Lif ei is about balance , fun and truth . Love the update and info :)
I agree we have to do more things while we can. Going to keep improving the greenhouse to make it more auto pilot and see where we can go and explore.
I have tried to find those black strawberry troughs. Where do you buy them? You guys are a real inspiration!
Thise are purchased from CropKing. They are not listed on the website.... you have to call them but let them know we sent you and they will take great care of you. tel:+1 330 302 4203
Never saw those rebar ties before. Pretty efficient way to glide those bags off. Strawberry’s ripe now in California. Planning on buying a flat tomorrow 😃
enjoy those strawberries !!!!
Wow nice
What is the ratio mix of coconut coils and perlite you use in that black troughs. Compare using 100% perlite and perlite + coconut coils which perform best... thanks. Watching from Malaysia
Love to get coco but can't get it here in Ohio or if I can its very expensive. Peat is much more economical.
@@HomegrownPassion thanks for reply
How much per each those black troughs?
about 3 bucks a piece 3 years ago
is that disney fireworks?
no we stayed in Clearwater Beach and that was shot at the Pearl Resort. A big wedding was taking place and they actually paid for the fireworks. Must of cost a fortune.
you guys make me wanna start a small farm... or a greenhouse... thanks and keep it up...
Start small and just do it. So, rewarding. Try microgreens, or potted plants. It all works! thanks for supporting us
I literally have 60 strawberry plants in the backyard because of this channel. Order some bare roots and go for it!
What're these beautiful strawberry buckets?
Those are hanging baskets purchased from CropKing. Developed in Holland. Thay work great.
Thank you!! @@HomegrownPassion
Do you have a link for the panda grow bags please, length/ width maybe? Or what would I put into the search bar to find the ones like you are using! I have only recently found your RUclips channel and have learnt so much already. Thank you so much for taking the time to explain things in a simple enough way for us newbies. Love from Australia 🪴
The grow bags were purchased from CropKing
What size is the grow bags
Grow bags are 3 gallon
I love all your videos. I just received my troughs from CropKing and filled them with perlite and promix as you suggested. We are using emitters and I'm wondering what you suggest we use for a watering schedule. I've got them running 24/7 right now and the mix is moist, but not saturated. We haven't put the strawberry plants in yet, but they should be arriving from Johhny's this week. Thanks for any advice.
sorry I'm taking so long to get back to you. We run the 4 times a day at 12 minutes per time. I hope you're doing well. Sorry again for missing your comment
Hi are you using coco now?
Mix of
There are some lock wire pliers that work wonders on rebar twistties. Do you recycle the strawberry plants by storing them over winter? Lastly, the hydroponic guy, hoocho, uses flexible downpipe pipe which is a polypropylene sleeve for grow bags.
I have seen those pliers. Just using stuff, we have on the farm to get things done. This year we will be over wintering. I will have to check out his video, but these grow bags work great and are very inexpensive.
Wondering how you like the drip tape setup vs an emitter setup? What GPH is your drip tape. Great work!
Hi Dave, we have never used emitters on the strawberries. I think emitters would work great because you can put the water where you want. The drip tape works well but it has holes ever 6 inches and if one of the holes is over the sawhorse... then it gets wet and kind of a waste of nutrients.
I will have to look up the GPH of the drip tape for you.
If you could put it in a hopper and let it fill the bags with gravity, it would go so much faster!
good idea
That is a great helper you have ! Do you get as nervous as I do when leaving your nursery for a few days ? Welcome to Florida !
yes, very much so. We think we have all the systems to keep it going on auto pilot but like everything in the universe.... something happens or changes, breaks etc. and you have a problem.
We are going to try and get away more this year. Slow things down a bit and just see what happens.
Awesome guy’s. I’m visiting Cropking for training next month is it ok if I stop by at your place to understand the hydroponics and irrigation system
So, I will be speaking at CropKing on the last day of grower's school. Their facilities have a working 2 bay greenhouse which you will be able to see and learn the practical application of hydroponics. I will have to check my schedule when we get closer to see if I can have any visitors. I will let you know.
@@HomegrownPassion thanks a lot
What's the reasoning behind both bags and buckets? Thanks.
Hi Chuck, just a different growing system we like to try, and we didn't want to buy any more buckets. We have the grow bags and want to use them. Thats all
How long are your nft channels and how many holes ? Thanks
so we have different lengths in the greenhouse. 9,072 holes in total
enjoy some great fresh seafood :)
yes some triple tail and my favorite Grouper... Yum!
You can make a neat seal on the ends of those bags by using the impulse sealer that you use for packing cucumbers
i will have to try that... thank you
