Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Its been 3 days since the herniated disc and I've stayed laying on my back in bed. No change. Just constant pain down my leg stopping at my knee.
The "prone press-ups start at 8:35 has made the pain in the leg dissappear after 3 sets of 6 for ten seconds. I cannot believe how instant the change was.
To Bob and Brad, thank you again. To anyone else with a herniated disc, this worked like magic for me!

Friends, I'm not sure if this information will be helpful to you, but I had problems with L4, L5, and S1 bulging discs for two years and couldn’t even walk properly. I tried allopathic medicines, but the pain didn’t go away. After taking Ayurvedic medicine for two months, the pain disappeared completely. I also used some home remedies, but I didn’t do any exercises; I only started doing evening walks. Now, I am 95% better, though there's still a slight burning sensation, for which I am doing therapy at home. I hope you all will also recover quickly

Thank you bob and brad for your wonderful videos! As a 22 year old who recently got diagnosed with a herniated discs in the lumbar region (with sciatica) it’s been really devastating to feel pain everytime I stand, sit or sleep. I hope I can get better soon…

I recently recieved physical therapy for problems with the L5 disc, they never really said if it was bulging or herniated, but it would be very painful in the morning and eventually it became hard to sit or lay at night. Usually didn't feel much discomfort walking, but the left hip was being affected too. They decided that my hip and low back muscles had gotten too weak to support the disc when in a sitting or laying position. I think when it was not supported it would then irritate the nerve. Physical therapy alone did not help with the pain and what I found did was Meloxicam,(anti inflammatory) Cyclobenzaprine (muscle relaxer) and Tylenol for pain. I took these at night for several weeks before it got less painful. I gradually went off the muscle relaxer and then Tylenol. I feel like it was healing the nerve irritation. But, I'm sure the muscle strengthening in the hip, glutes and lower back helped as well.

@@denisehill1705 I hope you went to see a doctor for an xray or MRI to see if there are any changes to your disc. I made the mistake of going to chiropractors and a physical therapist who all gave me different diagnosis along with suggesting I keep working out to build core muscles. Well I was not healing until I saw a doctor who immediately said I could have an annular tear and herniated discs. He told me to stop working out and what moves not to do. It's been a month since seeing him, and am almost 100%. I just wish I would have gone to a doctor 6 months ago when I first got injured, I might have been filly healed by now

I really need some help over here guys. I had an MRI, I got to see a neurosurgeon and a balneophysiotherapy doctor. The first one said that I had a bulging disk in L4-L5-S1 but no sciatica nerve pinched and that I don't need to be operated, and the second one confirmed that also and that I need to start doing physiotherapy right away. The doctor recommended WILLIAMS program. When I asked why not MCKENZIE she stated "Flexion is good, extension is bad". So I did the exercises at the hospital for 10 days. And continued to do so at home for a few months. But I recently had another lumbar crisis that put me in bed for two weeks.
I talked with a few colleagues at work with similar back problems (I work in the healthcare system). They all been told from different specialists to do Williams program. It's like no one recommends McKenzie in this country! I just don't get it.
I want to start doing the extension like you showed in the video. Could it do me more harm than good? I'm out of options.

Deceneu I can’t help but only add my experience. I have had problems for 20yrs. Right at the l4/5 including an operation to cut away disk. Extension is totally wrong for me and makes things worse so we all have our own different body shapes, skeletal construct, not just ‘l4/5 problems’. I’m going to go and look up Williams now

@@nykko73 Doing much better, I'm basically fully activate now and back to exercising. I did not get surgery. I did have the pin and needles and numbness on my left left down to my big toe. Other than seeing a good chiro and deep tissue massage around my hips and back, the BIGGEST help long term has been constant core work (i can finally feel and see my lumbar muscles) and staying moving. Planks are essential, i do laced fingers, elbows out for 2 minutes twice a day plus all the stretches and other core stuff, no sit-ups ever. I did just drive across country for 4 days but other than I stay moving throughout the day.

I hurt my back, disk between L4 and L5 on my right side, when I was practicing golf. Basically I pushed myself too far and caused the injury. I have pain in my second and third toe on my right foot and it feels like it's on fire. When I stretch by doing a couple of yoga poses, the child and the chair pose but keeping my legs straight and reaching my hands as high as they will go, this helps. In addition I stretch my hamstrings by bending over and touching my toes. These seem to help and the reoccurance of the pain and discomfort can go away for days and up to a week or more. I'll try the exercises you showed in the video but I'm not so sure this is really going away.

I bend all the way over keeping legs straight and bulging disc pain definitely has been exacerbated since this compensation. Well so have all adjoining body parts. Heck no. Or I’ll try to have my reacher with me more. Had no idea. And I’m an RN. Thank you!

I had foot drop AFTER I slept w a tens unit on my back & butt cheek. The neurologist immediately got me an mri. Then surgeon said I needed surgery. But im not an idiot. I chose to do physical therapy 1st.
Ridiculous he sent me hope w a paper of 20 reps of band stretched exercises on my heel, point 20, flex foot 20times. Then do the. Ext foot. After about 20 of those in 2 days I was fine. That was in 2012. 10yrs later I havent been exercising.except some of these types of movements. It helps for a bit. But instead of drop foot. My l4 has a huge sharp shock if I stand longer than 5min. I do axof the sciatica. Performs si joint exercises. Temporsry relief.

      But I don’t care, it’s not a big difference.
