    Thanks a ton, Kevin for these vidoes. I watched all your test routes videos and felt confident before going to the bed the night before test day, I passed my test on 16 Feb, with 4 minors. I was new to the area and it is only your videos gave me guidance on the test area. Many thanks!

    Hello Kev… 4:36 at this roundabout, which particular lane would you use to go towards the 3rd exit (Weybridge)? As it looks like the roundabout has 3 lanes but only 2 lanes going in. My guess was the right lane going in, but then which of the 3 lanes of the roundabout would you slot into for the 3rd exit?

    • @kmkldrivingschool
      @kmkldrivingschool  Год назад +3

      Hello mate... Good question... so yes there are indeed 3 lanes on approach to the roundabout. The left lane is left turn only, which then leaves middle and right... the sign suggests that weybridge is a right turn (3rd exit) so using the right lane on approach and then indicating left after the 2nd exit to come off for the 3rd would seem like the logical thing to do. Me personally, I approach in the middle lane and follow the left lane around towards the 3rd exit (indicating left after the 2nd exit). I mean both methods work and for me both are correct. The problem I find with using the right lane to take the 3rd exit is that a lot of drivers use the middle lane to do the same thing... which then makes it difficult for you to exit the roundabout as there is a string of vehicles already there all lined up coming off at the same exit that you wish to take. Hope this explanation helps.

      @@kmkldrivingschoolhello again… thank you for your great explanation. So you’d approach in the middle lane, and then follow the roundabout in its outside lane to the 3rd exit? Even though the exit is past 12 oclock. I’m now questioning whether there is even 3 lanes within the roundabout or just 2… I see 3 “keep clear” signs on google earth but it doesn’t seem to be wide enough for 3 lanes… very complicated roundabout as well as the hospital roundabouts not really following the usual rules makes Chertsey quite difficult
      Thank you very much for your videos, I have my test in Chertsey soon and will hopefully past 1st try thanks to your videos!!

    • @kmkldrivingschool
      @kmkldrivingschool  Год назад

      @@igig9324 yeah I'd personally use the middle lane but you can also use the right one. As you come off the roundabout going in the weybridge direction usually 2 lanes merge back into 1. if you get a chance, practice both methods and see which works for you. There are only 2 lanes within the roundabout as far as I remember. Yep chertsey is a tricky little area.

    At 3:38 why can’t u use the left hand lane to exit here? And in what roundabouts should I avoid using the left hand lane to exit??

      The left lane is reserved for people coming off the M25. Sorry the picture on my camera was a bit dark... maybe it was hard to see.
      Off the top of my head this is the only roundabout where you must exit in the right lane...

    Do I need to check my blind spots when changing lanes on a dual carriageway or in general?

    • @kmkldrivingschool
      @kmkldrivingschool  Месяц назад

      @Billwatson2345 hi there. Thanks for your comment. The short answer is "no". Although if you were to check your blind spot during a lane change on a dual carriage and maintain safe control of the vehicle then that can only be a good thing right?

      Yep you can also use the right lane too... it's not wrong to do so. In my opinion it is better to use the middle lane then you can head straight for the left lane and make your way around hassle free and without holding up anyone behind you who may wish to overtake or travel faster. Hope this helps.

    hi kevin would it be possible to make a video on tricky bends and hill starts in chertsey around acre lane? i’ve got my test very soon and my instructor only took me to these roads recently and they’re so hard!!

    • @kmkldrivingschool
      @kmkldrivingschool  Год назад

      Acre Lane rings a bell but can't quite picture where it is off the top of my head.
      TBH I probably won't be making that video any time soon I'm afraid. Each and every video takes up a lot of my time and I already have a long list of videos to make in my queue.
      Is there anything in particular that you find tricky about the bends and hill starts?

    • @qudsiyahmohammed5303
      @qudsiyahmohammed5303 Год назад +1

      @@kmkldrivingschool it’s just tht the hills around that area are so steep especially ones approaching a traffic light it’s hard for me to slow down and move of easily
      also there’s loads of sharp bends that are hidden off of fast speed roads

    • @kmkldrivingschool
      @kmkldrivingschool  Год назад +1

      @@qudsiyahmohammed5303 I can only advise that you practice this particular area more with your instructor if it is causing you concern.
      Usually learners find it hard to move off on steep hills. Make sure you apply the handbrake, set the gas, find the biting point and then only release the handbrake. When you release the handbrake, keep your feet still... then apply more gas and lift off the clutch slowly so that the car won't roll backwards and you move off smoothly. Only practice will help.
      As far as hidden bends are concerned... nothing is really "hidden" as such... just harder to see. If you are having trouble spotting where the bends are then perhaps you are driving a little too quick. Try slowing down a bit and looking ahead and anticipating where the bends could be. Again... practice over and over again until you are comfortable.
