Derek must love Betty, she’s got the best battery in the fleet.
Why does Interstate or DieHard not sponser any of these RUclipsrs? Huge missed opportunity.
I think this was staged. No way he had a battery that was good haha.
Lmfao 😂😂😂😂
*battry
It's the only car he fits in factory.LMAO
My first episode of VGG was when you got her going. Been hooked sense. My favorite channel. Keep up the great work!
Same here, keep up.
Same, it was one amazing video it was! It actually got me into car rescue/restoration videos overall
I think we all got it bad for our mans visegrip life.
Same. Got all caught up over the last few months and now the first thing I do when I turn on the puter is check to see if there's a new video.
wheres the link please
I am absolutely awe struck. I can't believe that paint came back around. A feller's got skills.
Same same. Almost looks like it was covered up in a garage the whole time....not sitting in a swampy field.
Look we know he’s a funny cool dude but it’s not equally funny when you try and speak like him. I’m sure he gets tired of people trying to talk like him.
Makes a guy just wanna give him my 79 k10 Silverado original 33,xxx Mile pickup. Just to see it on here
Detroit's Woodward Ave. Dream Cruise needs such a car in it.
A guy in North Dakota, watching a guy, bring the shine to a 70s Caddilac, awesome job feller
the buildquality of these old Cadillacs is just mindblowing, incredible how the paint came back around... really excited to see more of the Betty White story!
Yep this was toward the tail end of the quality GM land yachts
Minus the nylon timing gears and lack of dash instruments. Fantastic car otherwise. Some cam with tow packages.
I like how the word “transformation” in the video’s title shares the same font as the Cadillac script on the car. A guy just appreciates the details.
Great catch Norm
@@ViceGripGarage this Cadillac is definitely worthy of a complete frame off restoration
@@alexbaker9967 it is worthy of a full resto but it would be a massive multi-year undertaking. You also have to factor in that these things are only original once. Preserving on it and stopping most of the degradation would be in my opinion the most practical approach for it.

Watched a video the other day where you were being interviewed. I believe one of the questions asked to you was, how do you feel now that you're getting all the attention with the success of the RUclipss? You were also chatting about your upbringing with your Grandpa and Dad. You had mentioned that years ago you used to do all the shiny stuffs with cars. Your responses to the questions certainly define who you are Sir. Growing up on a large farm with the closest store being a 2 day camping trip away, having your Grandpa throw you the keys to the old Chevy hay hauler with the sbc in it with baling wire holding the PTO and several other non essential items wrapped up in it as well, your brother who drove it most of the time slamming it into gear for the second set of gears as your driving and your Grandpa not explaining to you how things operate so that you could figure it out on your own. Derek, you are America in it's truest form. You don't see something for what's it worth, you see it for what it is. Your knowledge is priceless and it came from many years of hard work. Your grandpa/family did you right and not only did you learn from them but, your passing all of it onto your boys and even us as fans of VGG. Now back to that main question. How has RUclips affected you? You said, when you walk into O`Reily's auto parts people spot you and your not used to all the attention but, your response to that is what makes you who you are. I hope you never change who you are.
Your personality, your demeanor, your work ethics, your humor all took many years to compile into one hell of a fella. It shows like a beaming light. Your a great dad, husband, family man, patriot and friend. If someone were to ask me, who is one of your favorite Americans today I would certainly rank you at the top. With all that's going on in our world today, YOU keep us grounded and focused on what it is we're all fighting for, FREEDOM! Thank you so much for being you and sharing that with us. Money could never afford what you offer for free. Btw, Happy belated birthday. Your so young, no offense but, I'm glad. We have a lot more time to enjoy you and your family. Maybe someday I'll have the pleasure to meet you in person, crack open a cold snack and maybe even do a Christmas bus ride or better yet, a tight lines day in the old swimming hole. Hope that day comes soon, would certain enjoy trying to keep these ribs from busting through the side skins. Best of all to you and your family Derek. Btw, tell Jess her 4th of July cake looked awesome. Your such a blessed man. Be safe on those race week excursions as well and grats on your drag license. As always, look forward to having you and the gang on the screen here at my home.
Excited to see the Caddy come back to her glory. Nice work as always.
Thank you
Got to love the lines of classic caddys.
My favorite thing is to watch him pull cars out, get them running after 20 or so years and then watch them run better than my daily driver.
Yep. There’s a reason why my wife and I own old iron. I daily drive a 68 Ford crew cab with f100 suspension under it. And she daily’s a 1966 chevlle wagon 327 auto car. We do have a newer family rig tho for long trips and camping it’s a 81 suburban 4x4 454 4 speed rig.
Same here 😁
Because they ran better than your daily when it was parked 🤣🤣
Love the Caddy! The episode you pulled Betty out of the mud was my introduction to a feller and by the power of grayskull and Moses sandals, you went ahead and hooked a fella in for life.
Pulling this car out of that field was the first episode I watched. I laughed my ass off...keep em coming!
I lost a million dollar imaginary bet on the floors on that video. Car was literally sitting in the dirt for DECADES and with the rot on the lower front fenders, I thought for SURE those floors were completely gone.
How they're PRISTINE is still a mystery to me.
Love this car.
Snap 😂😂. What a fantastic episode that was.
That was my first one too.. I thought fer SURE ole mother earth had got thatn!!
I believe it was my first episode as well.
Amazing what can become from these old beasts.
Cheers
Same that one got me started
Thanks for showing 'er some love! This was probably one of my favorite revivals
Sweet restoration. Also awesome to see your boys in the background, doing their own wrenching. You certainly are instilling some great values in those boys. Keep up the great job as a father, and a fabulous ‘youtuber’.
I've seen your intro a hundred times and I still lol when Jessica drops the Monza down! Hahahaha:) Your family rocks! Love you cats!
I was actually having withdrawals Derrick. Thanks bro. You keep us all going sometimes with your good heart and comedy and your genuine love for America and cars.

I love watching these old neglected cars come back around, especially Cadillacs. I recently did the same buff n polish on my 64 caddy and I'm super happy with the results.
Love seeing the boys working in the back. They will remember this for ever.
Loved when at 20:00 Your boys were back there working on their 4 wheeler by themselves. You're a great dad for teaching them and letting them tinker on their own.
This is one of my favorite VGG rescues! Glad its back!
Grab yourself som POR15 (I believe that's the name) and cover the rust on the lower front fenders. This will stop the rust. I used to use it on Semi frames where they were rusting and it works amazing.
Back in the 50's thru the late 70's my Grandfather was a body man. After he passed away in the late 70's all his Cadillac parts in the garage attic were tossed out. There was a lot of money that down the drain. I was only 10 but what I wouldn't give to have those old parts. Love watching this series as My Grandparents always drove those big ole Caddy boats.
Just watched @projectfarm test POR15. It came in 1st place!!!
This caddy revival is the reason I even found this channel, I have always wanted to find one like this to bring around and throw back on the road. Be a sweet parts gettin rig and cattle buying rig for this farm boy to find some day! Until then keep up the great content VGG!
I have been waiting so long to see Betty white back. One of my favorite projects.
a lot more coming!
I love seeing your boys in the background. Reminds me of working in the shop with my dad when I was younger. They may be playing but they are learning some good stuff. Thanks for the videos!
Hands down favorite car in the fleet. I don’t know why I love that big rusted Cadillac so much, but that really is a beautiful car. She deserves the love.
'69s and '70s had wonderful lines. With the angled crease leading up to the fins, these cars looked like giant prehistoric bird-like creatures.
I loved Betty since she called out for help💕I’m thrilled with her rescue🤩
If you love it that much , ive got an ugly asd blue one here in Wi . Typical bondo. Horrible paint job, even Earl Schieb wouldve looked concours. It does run..
Back 30 years ago or so I had a "70 Caddy Fleetwood Brougham I bought off a co worker for $100. 500 4bbl motor. Still ran good and needed a ball joint for inspection, that was it. Ran it for a few years and my young daughter at the time stepped on the seat buttons and jammed the electric seat controls. The next day it burned up in my driveway. Damn, this video brings me back to great memories with friends and family riding the back roads with 13.2 passengers and cold snacks in the trunk. Oh, and I painted it pink. Thanks Derek!
Good to see you dig out the old girl again. She is a gem. Seems like every time you work on her she just gets sweeter looking. Can"t wait to see her when she is done! Keep working your magic!
Wow, over 20K views in an hour. Lots of folks love some VGG 👍🏻
Ever since watching this field revival I’ve been excited to see it cleaned up. Those seats looks tremendous. I always conjure up the back stories of these rigs.
This is my favorite vehicle Derek's ever pulled out of a field, and it's really not close.
This is the one vehicle, that I would buy off him, then have it completely restored. This thing even had air ride suspension, crazy for 1970.
Derek, I'm really glad to see how you're continuing to work on the old girl -- she's definitely worth it. Just the great job you've done with the interior and paint has really breathed some life back in to it. I am looking forward to seeing you finish it up and take her on the road.
Looks great! I’d appreciate a tutorial on cutting and buffing - your results are inspiring!
A feller was re-watchin’ an old VGG and a drop drown notification came in! Hello “Betty”! Looking good! I want more please.
That old boat is just amazing. I'd drive that every day.
If ya could afford it lol my 66 Electra with the old nailhead gets 9 mpg and i live in Minnesota same as Derek and gas ain’t getting cheaper at all
Betty needs a full restoration she really is a beautiful car
He was right when he said that “GM vehicles of this era were just built right.” I bet you this car rides like a modern day Escalade.
If it was a 2 door
Problem is full restoration 50k + that car will never be worth more than 30k

Spend the money on a LS crate engine and make it a modern day driver/ cruiser with the rest as is and a sticker that says this ain't Grannies Cadillac

I can't tell you how much I am in love with this car. Of all the revivals you have done this one is my personal favorite. Something about a big white mile long land yacht just makes me swoon.
Great Job Derek......What elbow grease you put in to that paint........I noticed the sky in the background(time passing) as you were buffing Ole Betty and you put serious effort into that paint aside from all the painting priming...clear coating the sections you did.
That paint is like a smooth crystal lake in the early morning........just classy!!!!!

Thanks so much for bringing the 1970 Cadillac back into the spotlight! I have been thinking of this car for months! Keep at it and I might say you may keep it for yourself. I have seen this before with other restoring videos on Utube. It is just something about a Cadillac! Good job!!!
I’m excited for this build! We had one as a family car when I was a weeee lad. Paid $200 for it back then and drove it to church every Sunday.

Looks Great Derek, the more you do to her the better she looks, Betty definitely wants to recover her lost yearage out in the field. Another classic saved, good on you Derek.
I have been binge watching this series about this Cadillac. Its a beautiful car and hard to believe she was lead out to the field and left to rot. The floor pans amazed me when the wet carpet was pulled out and she is cleaning up nice and is going to be an amazing ride!!!

Love Betty! Please keep her going! For some reason this car is special!
Super happy to see Motor trend invited you on their "Hoopty Challenge." Enjoy your shows where ever I can find them. Yesterday I did some sanding, bondo, self etch primer and paint on my parents 98 Expedition. Good old rig, just rusty in a few spots, needs fuel rails cleans, new sparkolaters and lightning wires... Then I can buff the paint and get it ready for another decade of getting the folks around, they are 80 and 82, so not looking for forever... I never was the paint and body guy, but a feller can do with some "Can Do" spirit and a couple of wobbly sodas. :)
I remember riding in a caddy like that when my friends mom would drive us home from school !! Blue smoke inside from the pall malls!! Lol. Thanks for bringing up the memories Derek! Love it 😂
! remember riding in and driving a caddy like that, too but, who's car was it? Parking Cars as Valet at Vancouver's Discovery 1844 West Lake in Seattle in 1978. Wow? Was it that long ago?!! The cool part about the Caddies of this era 40s, 50s, 60s and 70 to 72 is the Big engines (Found their way into other cool cars) after that the Cars remained the same size while the Horses went away!
