2011 however that was unpredictable
@Denis-89 In 2014 Austria was nowhere near the top of the odds prior to rehearsals. Also Israel was in odds top 5 and didn't qualify.

And in 2018 Netta was the clear favourite to win from the start. This year is more unpredictable since we even after pre parties still have no clear winner

Also if you're talking about pre-parties not making the winner obvious then you have to mention 2021.

You forgot to mention that this year Big5 + Winner countries will perfom live in the semi-finals, between other acts but people can't vote for them. I'm sure that many people will be confused by this change :D

Was hoping for specifics on voting timeframes with regards to voters in "Rest of the World"
But, instead...we got information that we always know and are mostly reminded of at the beginning of shows by the hosts in the 2 international languages.

But it still doesn't explain how the public vote is actually calculated. For example UK, O points, does that mean nobody innthe world voted for it? Or is 0 points maybe less than a million votes? Or something? Why is this not explained and can't find anything on net about this.

Why is there no 9 and 11 points?
I knew everything except that the rest of the world is able to vote and also able to vote on all three shows. That's interesting. Btw I always have the Eurovision phone vote number in my contact list so I don't have to put it in every year.
I found that interesting too, as this year's edition is the first ESC I'm watching in full and was so excited that I ended up not voting in the first semi-final. I was also surprised to find out about the 24 hour extended window of time for the rest of the world to account for time zones, but I think that's new for this year.

That is not, what I would call fair. It is the opposite. If your favorite song is in the other semi final, you can't vote for it. Why should this be fair? And why are the pre-qualified countries split over the semi finals, while" Rest Of The World" isn't?

@@KuschelziegeNuri Because a lot of people would vote for an act just because its from a certain country, and that wouldn't make for a fair result. This is also the reason that countries are divided into certain groups during the semi final allocation draw

If you vote in the category "Rest of the world" you can vote in both semis. And in the final of course.
What is the point in posting one video? I don't know why Eurovision even made a RUclips channel when they don't want you to see the finale show. I was interested in it but not any more. I'll stick with American Idol and America Got Talent. At least I won't be prevented from seeing those shows.

Not sure if they changed that, but previously no, they aren't.
So, basically, people from non-participating countries can vote in all 3 events, whereas people from participating countries can only vote in 2, meaning that people from non-participating countries have more of a say in determining results. How brilliant!

I don’t like the thing that there too much attention for jury’s votes. It would be more respectful to show public votes separately from each country, that’s how we will honour true favourites and give them deserved attention on live.
