I use the touch controls on the stem daily. To remove that would be a shame.
That was the reason I went from APP1 to APP2 was cause the stem control feature it would be stupid to change that already but it’s Apple and they do stupid shit so….

I upgraded from the APP1 to APP2 for the traceability of the case. But the stems have been one of my most favourite features
They’ll probably add side of the ear tapping for pausing/skipping if they remove the stem
None of these rumors are true, just content grabs.
They need to update more on Airpods Max 2. Colors and USB-C ain't going to cut it. We need a power button to actually turn off the device, change the case, new chipset and many more...
I was thinking the same thing. I would never spend this amount of money without worthy features such as the ones you suggested!
I was acutally waiting with my purchase for the gen 2, but seeing this I may not want to buy it at all. Because I would feel like im getting 4 years old product.
No update to the AirPods Max would be a huge miss.
Only thing about getting rid of the stem is that the stem is such a recognisable part of airpods branding, so I would be surprised if Apple got rid of them. If they do then airpods will just look like every other wireless earbud
Yeah, also the swiping sound controls and squeeze controls are super cool to use. Not to mention the stem makes the weight pull downwards so gravity pushes it into your ear and fits in your ear perfectly
My list of things I’d want on the airpods max 2: h3 chip (it’s been like 4 years since the H1 came out so it’s way overdue), reduced price by $150 (some leaks were pointing at this), sweat resistance, fast usb-c charging speed
sewat resistance is a big one for me...
They're already crazy comfortable for me.
Will we also get lossless audio or will they keep the old bluetooth standard that doesnt support that?

@@Sky6an Yes but it only works when paired with apple vision pro, if you use it with an iphone you wont get lossless audio.

I would love if they made a lighter version of the AirPods Max. Should we expect that? Most likely not, but one can dream.
Why don't you try putting on ear muffs over AirPods Pro 2 like I usually do? I think the sound feels very nice that way.

such a shame pro 2nd gen fit so badly in my ears i love the sound they make but omg the fit & comfort are a big issue i have tried every aftermarket tip nothing works

I have Airpods Pro 2 and they are great BUT many of the advanced settings, such as for hearing loss at certain frequencies, are ONLY available if you have a relatively late model iPhone.
They should definitely focus on the static and hissing issues first and all the other problems with the AirPods software but like to see the future and for the pros I will love the stemless design but with a hook for better grip in ear
I’m not a fan of the tips. Gives me headaches. I prefer the non pros.
The ANC actually needs to be better, I can hear everything around me with it on in the Airpods Pro 2, my snow thrower is still super loud with it on, some of the competition has shot well ahead.

It was nerfed because it’s too good that it caused traffic issue, I believe you can get a better ANC if you use the smart switch option.

I though apple would be ditching Bluetooth.. before pro 2 Gary Graves said there were working on there own codec to replace Bluetooth due too low bitrate
Heel yeah! I’m excited for the next generation of AirPods and Apple pods Pro I hope to see lossless playback from iPhone and improved noise cancellation, and the regular AirPods having noise cancellation will actually be dang cool as well

I hate the glossy finish I have my ap2 left stay in ear then my right But noise cancellation is decent they need to add grip or wing tip like the galaxy buds

Bro I misplaced my AirPods pro 2 at a gas station and tracked them down after 3 hours of being lost. Find my is a flipping beast and you’ll only appreciate when you have to use it.
I fall asleep with them in a lot, and usually have to use Find My to locate them in the morning.

I know someone that tracked down their AirPods Pro 2 in another state and got them back. Would have never happened without find my. You might think you don’t need it and won’t use it until you do.

I’d consider AirPod Max 2 if they added a power button and much longer battery life. I have the Sony M5s, and a friend had the AirPod Max 1s and I tried them, the sound quality was pretty much the same, but the battery life of the M5s blows the AirPod Max away.

Better DAC/Amp in the Mac
if that "when streaming" means via Bluetooth (since those headphones are predominantly wireless by architecture) no DAC/Amp in whatsoever beside exactly that combo component (decoding on 44.1kHz/16 bit 256kbs AAC) unit in headphones doesn't matter..

I wonder if they are going to introduce an AirPods Ultra this year and convert the AirPods Max 2 into a mid-range offering.... drop the price, add USB-C, keep the older chipsets. That would explain why it's not getting any significant update.

apple shouldn't remove the stem, its too important to the airpods image and its personally something I like about the airpods that other buds don't have.
These should be stemless AirPods for those who can wave their ears like me. That would be totally hands-free headphones and will be sick.

I'm facing the same question… tempting to get a cheaper 2nd hand AirPods Pro 2, but there are so many counterfeits out there… And even better sound, ANC & battery are all great + those health features would be incredible. I think I'll wait.

No keep the stems bruh, the only reason why they are so good for me personally is because the touch sensitive earbuds which click for no reason when I use them to sleep suck ass. Not to mention the squeeze on the stems make it easer to take the earbuds out sense you don’t accidentally trigger a click.
I can also sleep with the noise cancellation a lot better sense they don’t go off randomly.
If you squeeze them when they're not in your ears they won't trigger
No way apple is removing the stem. This is their fashion statement and differentiator
I cannot fault the Pro 2’s. I absolutely love mine and use them EVERY day.
The only comfort issue with airpods pro/pro 2 currently are due to the laughably garbage silicon tips that they use. I use azla sednafit xelastec tips and they're leaps and bounds better, not to mention tips from spinfit and foam alternatives from brands like dekoni or comply. Also, removing the stems would be really, really bad imo. The only way that will work out for them would be to have a stem version and a stemless version. Unless the airpods pro 2 remain in the product line and get any new features as a firmware update and the pro 3 was the stemless one

@@jeffreyrhthey don’t need an off button, I like the just put them on approach, way better than constantly having to turn my headphones on then off, that’s annoying when using them several times per day. I’d always put them in the case when not in use, they look nice and I wouldn’t want them to get scratched so they’d go in the case regardless.

Can't wait to see the updated AirPods Pro Max but I sincerely hope Apple removes the need for a diaper on the AirPods Max 2 to avoid the batteries to leak until empty. A required diaper is a purchase killer for me.

Would love the new AirPods Pro's, or AirPod's would work for me. When it comes to Apple AirPod's the first time I tried them they would just fall out of my ears. I still use the standard Apple EarPods with inside the ear, ear hooks. Could use these with AirPods except you cannot put them into the case with the ear hooks on.
Too much of a pain to put the inside the ear, ear hooks on, and then take them off every time go to use the AirPod's. Wish Apple made in ear, ear hook option that would allow me to put them inside the case, and charge them without taking them off. That or a tip that would go further into my ear canal so they would stay in.

Man those release dates really broke my heart. My AirPods pro (which i had since 2021) are making static sounds in the right ear and keep falling off lately, so I’ve been dying to upgrade to AirPod Max but i was trying to be patient till they release a version with usb c (i have an iphone 15 pro max), now you’re telling me i have to wait at least 6 months, or just settle for Airpods Pro 2 which wont fit well, and looks like rubbish compared to the pro 3 description you just gave, and comes out in 2025🤧 Apple has me in a chokehold

They’re likely to be out by the end of 2024 or early 2025.
The airpods pro 2 with USB C also transmit on 5ghz which is why it can actually do lossless audio to supported devices like the apple vision pro. The lightening version is only 2.5ghz. This was confirmed in an interview from Brian tong when he was chatting with the designers of the airpods pro
Maybe AirPods Pro 3 can have 5GHz(or even more) to enable lossless on all devices. With the new stemless design and new screen rumours, I believe that the H3 chip would not be much of an upgrade compared to H2. Maybe battery efficiency with the new 3nm architecture. I believe it is gonna be controllable only through Siri or the case like that iPod nano
