- In this video we look at the Craftsman S2000 51" Rolling Tool Chest. Is it worth buying? Is this a quality tool box? With its 18" depth it fits perfectly in most home garages but is it made like your dad and grandads Craftsman box?

This is about what you’ll get at that price point, and I believe it’ll get the job done. You’re looking for snap on quality, but wont find it for that price.
Yup you get what u pay for most of the time. I cannot deal with Crapsman junk. I got a snapon box on promo.
I have the 2000 series that i bought in 2018 and its been great. One of the bottom drawers has a slide that needs replaced but i am pretty sure that was damaged when i moved from Louisiana to Texas
I'm not trying to be rude, but how did you not see that damage on the box before taking it home? I inspected mine for like 10 minutes. Running my hand on the metal to feel dents, testing drawers and locks, etc... What you have is major damage. I would drive that thing back 4hrs and get a new one for sure. That sucks. Hope you got it resolved by now.
Crapsman is junk regardless
Any luck with the warnetee?
Seeing how the caster mounting is I will be going with the 41in model, I dont like the idea of the fully loaded 52in lol
Wow! Watching this whiner was like watching an accident. Can,t believe I watched the entire video. Due diligence before purchase.
And yet you watched it. So thank you!
Crapsman is straight junk all the boxes. They say drawers can hold 100lb yet it can’t close good with less than half the rated load. Even the kobalts are junk as well as husky. I got a tool truck box instead
What you have there is a double stack 52” made in the USA tool box. Let me explain further, for that $500.00
(In your case $450.00), a 52” double stack in Cornwell, Snap-On, Marco would run you $5,000.00-$8,000.00.
If you wanted to go to harbor freight and get a box from there brand, the could they do offer, your still looking @ $1,000.00.
Point of the story, you got a hell of a box for $500.00, can’t build a wood shelf with casters for $500.00 today.
No one pays list price for tool truck boxes. A smaller tool truck box can handle way more weight than bigger big box store cabs. Hf is rubbish
Put heavy duty casters on you can get them for cheap should help
There’s no point the structure is weak it’s only as good as it’s foundation
Yeah the flimsy way they mount the casters seems to be a Waterloo thing. I have a cheap Waterloo chest I bought a couple years before Stanley bought them and it's the same way. I have considered pulling everything out, flipping it upside down and beefing up the way the casters are mounted. It's annoying because I would rather buy a US-made tool chest than a Chinese box, but they leave such obvious design flaws in their products that make it really tough to consider buying them. Those flimsy casters make it really tough to roll around. Any debris or cracks in concrete floor cause the swivels to act up. They don't steer well and it feels like the chest is going to flip over if you push too hard. The stability does not improve when you add weight.
Crapsman is nothing like Waterloo before the sbd takeover. The new boxes are rubbish. I got a tool truck brand
Damn craftsman!!!! Well.... I'll be getting a box from Harbor freight now!!!
I don't know how Harbor Freight decided to be so much more expensive. I walked right out when I saw the price for their tool boxes.
Junk
Mine wobbles like crazy when I open and close the drawers. Ready to get rid of it.
Yeah it's totally overpriced for what it is. Seen many post of people having Lowe's open several boxes in store and not one of them was undamaged. A joke.
@@HubersRanch I got lucky, bought a fully assembled floor model on clearance. The department manager I talked to had assembled it himself. Perfect condition, he even lubed the slides. Threw in drawer liners as well. 😊
I guess I looked out mine from Lowes corona California came perfect. Maybe the color black has something to do with it!
I just had Ace Hardware cancel my online order. When I called the store to check what happened, the manager told me he had to cancel it because the only one they had left was the floor model and it was damaged. I see a lot of you folks having bad experiences. It looks like I dodged a bullet here.
I LOVE mine.
Also maybe yours is shaky because of damage because my 2000 series is very stabil even after 5 years
Why not just replace your plug in with a recessed receptacle. And they are assembled in the us with global parts not made in the us
The badge on them states "Made in the USA with global parts" And of course you can change your receptacle if you wish but that's not the point.
It should of went right back!
That kind of damage on something I’ve paid that kind of dollars for would have been packaged up and taken back. It would have been unacceptable.
The quality of craftsman has become absolute shit for a long time now, they never use to be this bad. I am so glad I chose husky instead of craftsman when I bought my new toolbox. sorry this happened to you.
Yeah once I get space for a deeper box I'll get rid of this one. Only reason was cause it wasn't as deep as all the other ones and fit my space. Oh well live and learn.
This isn't a craftsman product. It's actually a Waterloo tool chest that's been branded Craftsman. Stanley Black & Decker bought Waterloo back around 2017.
@@karlschauff7989it’s junk
that's why you don't shop at big boxes and you shop at Ace Hardware -- ace hardware would have had a no questions asked return and would have picked it up
Oh no! They gave sheet metal screws to put casters onto sheet metal/aluminum tool box?! How dare they!
Its a tool box my man…..its not a make up kit. Man up and keep on living.
I guess I value my toolbox more than you your makup kit 🤣
Ohh i value my tools….but i’ve learned not to get caught up in non sense crap…life is too short. Nit picking things is not ok. Nothing is perfect in this world…why should a damn tool box be?
@@HISVOICE4LIFElol exactly 💯
If you're going to pay less than a thousand dollars for a toolbox... like, what did you expect? I have a Matco at work and several craftsmans in my garage. The Matco is obviously the nicer box. Craftsman is fine for my home use. And for the price, how can you possibly nit pick it? Either buy a real toolbox or stop bitching about the quality of a budget box. I mean, it's a budget box.
you sound stressed/depressed lol cheer up guy
More annoyed spending my money on junk
"hey guys", youtubes mandatory opening to be played
Yeah pretty much, since people's attention span resembles that of a gold fish you try to be polite but still quick, lol.
