Is the battery compartment easier to open in the GEN2 model? I had GEN1 and the compartment was very difficult to open...and I had more than one...and it was impossible to remove the batteries after inserting them into the compartment.
The battery tray for the Gen 2 has been re-designed and I find it much easier to open than the Gen 1. Rather than the small lip near the front to grab on the battery tray, there are ridges on the side of the tray giving much more of an area to actually grab and remove it. The Gen 2 also handles water intrusion better than the Gen 1 with the re-designed battery tray.
Sorry for the late reply. The Gen 2 doesn't support mesh networking like the Gen 1 does. The Gen 2 hose tap isn't tied to only a single Device Group/hub so you can add additional hubs to increase coverage for the hose taps.
