- The LEGO Technic Bugatti Bolide 42151 is one of the best lego technic 2023 sets. After the LEGO Technic 2023 sets leaked, I was really looking forward to this car! It dissapointed me in some areas, but it pleasantly surprised me in others. The LEGO Technic 42151 contains what is easily the single greatest engine of any LEGO Technic set. Are you excited for the other 2023 sets, such as the LEGO Technic Monster Jam Mutt Dalmation as well as the LEGO Technic Monster Jam Dragon? Please let me know!

lol, I once had to completely take one of my supercars apart, because I forgot ONE gear in the gearbox 😂
I rarely ever make mistakes in gearboxes and mechanisms like that, but when it comes to decorating with panels I just don’t care haha

I haven't played with LEGO in years until recently and this was the first Technic set I bought because I like Bugatti cars and over 900 pieces at $50 seemed like a good deal. Really enjoyed building it and it looks really nice and is a decent size.

Built the car and it’s sitting ontop of my fridge looks good.
I just finished this set. I absolutely loved it. I didn't know you could open the hood though. Definitely a 10/10 build.

I’m about to order this, it will be my first Lego set ever, I’m 36 years old, kind of intimidating but I’m gonna go for it and hopefully this will start my Lego building journey! I broke my leg and all I can do is stay home all day, perfect time to get into building! 👍🏾

is there an easy way to modify the rear axle? like changing rod in one wheel with shorter one to not connect do the system, only for wheel holing in its place and turn freely? :)

did u have trouble with the part with the csr logo on it when attaching to the structure
I just recently built this and it’s pretty cool. Couple of fun play features the engine rotates there’s a crank shaft and diff attached to the back wheels and when you push the car the 16 pistons move up and down. The doors open the steering wheel turns the front wheels turn like an actual car. The knob ontop moves the wheels through a shaft you build. There’s a lot of stickers which is annoying I wish Lego would just do printed peace’s. It looks I’d say pretty close to the real car some things are not 100% but it’s close and it was a fun build. Bag 3 was annoying because it’s a lot of repetitive building I didn’t like bag 3 lol.

Great review! I think the reason there is no differential is because the set does not a have a 5x7 technic frame (which is usually where the differential is placed). There is simply no space for the 5x7 technic frame.
Differentials do NOT require frames. For example, the LEGO technic off roader 8257 did not have a frame and also included a differential
I've just designed a Yugo RC MOC, and I only used the 14720 3x5 beam for the differential.
the front part with the print is backwards. the white X's are the headlight so you have to turn them around

Love the new parts. I often use a black and yellow color scheme for MOCs, so this is a must-have for me, no question.
Black and yellow is the best color scheme

I built this set a few months ago and it was one of my favorites until my little brother threw it out of my window now all the prints and stickers are scuffed up.

I am having an issue eith the engine.
When i drive the car forward it runs good but when i run it backwards it gets stuck
Good review. Personally, I cannot fathom nor accept the presence of all the red and blue technic pins sticking out everywhere. Why do they not make them black and elevate the whole Set as a display item? It makes no sense to me and I cannot buy things that make no sense to me. I also hate the stickers and the rear lights that are essentially just hanging there instead of being integrated in the chassis.
Dude it’s still a kids toy don’t get me wrong I like them too and have several but they’re design with kids in mind

I built this my first technic with my brother but we both messed up😂 the turning gears the engine gear and thats it but i mean its still such a cool set but in my opinion i like the blue one better
My engine doesn't spin like yours but it looks correct. Still not want to move to next step till I know it is okay

And also the disadvantage in my opinion in the engine is that the axles don’t make a lot of sound and does not launch super high and also in my country Singapore this set is $71

I got this car and idk if this happens for you or if its just me but when i move it, it like locks and clicks in the gear area (I think) and idk what even causes it and i have been looking for a day and cant find what could cause it. Do you know what I should do? And i also didnt forget anything

My problem for the bolide is the steering because the wheel is too near to the bumper😦😦

The only part i didn't like building is the engine. Maybe it was just me, but it was super confusing putting it together somehow
does lego ever send extra parts? i just finished bag one and theirs 4 or 5 pieces left and i went back and checked when those parts were used and i have them all installed. someone please help im going crazy over here! LOL
You will always have some small spare pieces left
I just got this set for christmas and really enjoyed building it and the functionability of it, other than the whole thing with how it has bad traction in the back, which while annoying, it doesnt bother me that much because I make lego sets for being displayed.

My isn't rolling forward and I put everything in place correctly. I got it to fix and it was working fine and left it alone and it's like stuck again.
@@christopherdelgiorno4621 check the “egg shape” engine pieces. Make sure they are like put on the second hole from top I believe. If those can’t rotate completely, that will happen. I had to do that to mine.

I just got this Lego set myself but I am having issues with the motor locking up the rear axle. Is there a way to fix it so it works smoothly like it should without having to remove the diff?

@@slicks8152 yeah I did. I had to disassemble the thing and redo the crankshaft. That was where I messed up.

I don’t have a problem with the car except for one whenever I try and drive the car around as a play feature the engine pistons are clicking. Does anyone know how to fix it?
That might be just the sound coming from the engine
It’s a very common problem in this set. You need to space each of the piston lines out (there are 4, just use your finger to space them out as much as possible), but I think they just naturally move back. It’s terrible design but it’s just because of the real car having a W engine and lego just isn’t good for that, because these are not real pistons

I understand that this is an older video, and it is very well made. I didn't enjoy this kit at all. After waiting to buy it for a long time, it was bought for me as a gift by somebody that knew I was wanting to get it. I had to do a good amount of troubleshooting of the engine to find where it was jamming, the bumpers are very basic when compared to a lot of similarly priced kits and the stickers on the wheel plates are really not nice, they should have been printed at least.
I'm just glad that it's a good looking model, because that at least alleviates some of the disappointment.
You mentioned that the lack of differential on the rear axel was a step back, and I agree.
Overall I think that the Senna GTR is a far more enjoyable build and easily looks better. Even if the W16 is a cool little gimmick.
Saying that, I did enjoy your review of the kit, so for that, I thank you.
How did you get the engine to not jam while rotating? I'm having the same issue
@@400Redsport Make sure everything is pushed all the way in. I had one blue rod that was not quite all the way into the grey piece that was causing the egg shaped piece to catch at the front of the engine.
I have both and I like both(both legos, not real car ofc)
Hi! Which one would be better for a 19 year old without any lego experience: a Lego Bugatti Bolide or a Lego McLaren Senna? In terms of time, patience and quality.

The engine bar with the egg piece is to short.
The McLaren senna gtr is more realistic than the bolide. The shape of the front compared to the real car is completely off whilst the senna is more comparible to the real one. The colour scheme also isn’t as appealing to me as a blue and black one would have. Honestly, they shouldn’t have made such a great car irl as a small and unrealistic version. Thanks for the review as I was going to buy it but changed my mind after the review. Waiting for the double McLaren speed champions set coming next year

Oh that part was a little tricky the images in the book are not very clear you have to move the the engine and kinda spread it out to a V shape then everything locks together

Take it apart and put it back together the right way. You definitely missed something or put something in the wrong place.
@@jiggnorth3593when I got to the back bumper pretty much at the end of the build I realized I had two peace’s the wrong way I had to take a part some of the car to fix it. Some of the images in the instruction book are not very clear.
