That's no ugly truck to me! She's gorgeous! I initially didn't really like that body style but it's grown on me and now I love it! Enjoy the channel! Keep it up!
As I said before I actually like this better than your show. Very inspiring. I'm actually getting ready to turbo my 07 ScSb Silverado myself this spring I have basically all my components except my fuel pump reg because like you I'm worried when I drop the 450 in the tank the stock reg won't hold it. I've also been learning how to use my HP tuners. Just to get familiar with it all before I really got to make the big changes. I am planning on keeping my Maf though since my goal is only about 500 it's my daily so don't need it too crazy. Congrats on 30k and I look forward to your future content
Glad you got it and I am glad you got the truck done. I'm glad you found your dream job and now your own business. I am going to say good job on the subscribed people who are watching and I am glad that I was in the first bunch. You are going to make it just like I will someday get to work for a gentleman such as yourself. I'm going to be 52 on the 14th and I am again happy to see you are enjoying the dream of the show to your business and channel. God bless and enjoy, as I said not work if you enjoy doing the things you love. Great evening and upcoming Thursday to you LT.
"WITH GREAT POWER COMES GREAT RESPONSIBILITY"! You could have turned up the boost and and pushed it to it's limit but I'm glad to see that you are responsible and can drive it without trying to blow it up out of the gates like others do. Congrats on the SUBSCRIBERS!!
thank you! and you are right about that, the temptation is there, but also present is the understanding of how much work and expense it will take to build it if it does blow
LT, I humbly thank you for walking us through this whole journey. From your introduction of Ugly Truck to us, to your cross country move, to your ear to ear smile of pride and excitement behind the wheel of this beast! I, as well as many of your other followers, I'm sure, really enjoy watching your videos and anxiously await for what ever you bring to us next. I wish nothing but success for you and your family and can't wait to see this ol, albeit no-longer-tired girl's official first dyno numbers. See you in your next video, brother!
L.T. I know that feeling of all the hours and then the final payoff. Glad you remembered to latch the hood and torque the lugnuts. I’m the type that would’ve forgot the basics
I have been watching you since your debut on Power Nation love your work and knowledgeability on automotive stuff. Cant wait to see you at 1million subs. keep up the good work
It’s interesting to see the love these engines are getting, they never got the love they deserved and to mention the cylinder heads on this motor are different than your usual big block
Nice project, owning a 1998 crew cab dually with the 454 this gives me inspiration and you take the guess work out of my project. Keep up the good work!
Stoked for ya brother! You are a better man than me, I would have had to see just how far that stock fuel pump would make it. Congrats on the goal and the #UGLYTRUCK.
LT you are the man! I’m a long time fan and have been watching you on truck tech for a few years so when I saw your personal RUclips channel pop up in my YT feed I said YES I will definitely see what he is up to. I am pumped that you moved to UT. I live on the other side of the lake from you. Utah is a great place to be and the auto performance scene is pretty great here. It was better when we still had Rocky Mountain Raceway but we still have Utah Motorsports Campus and hopefully they put a drag strip out there. Welcome to UT County man! Hope to see you out cruising sometime!
Tuning is a new thing to me. As it's said in passing on multiple videos, but this is the first time it was explained to me. Doesn't seem too difficult with some good research and capabilities. Glad you included it #UglyTruck
Just an FYI LT, I've got an 01 x cab with turbo (T4 S475) forged 5.7L (boarded 5.3) on stock return style fuel lines, rails and reg with nothing more then the a Racetronix "hotwire kit", Walbro 525 pump and Holley Hydromate pickup and I've dynoed right at 800whp on my Dynojet dyno and run the track times to back it up. This truck has been running this power as a dd for about 12 years, lol. (KB Racing Turbo Systems)
LT, I have a video suggestion, an explanation of what the wideband is, how it works, when do you need to use one. I eat sleep and breathe automotive anything, but I am clueless about the wideband O2 stuff, how and why you need one etc. If it’s not video worthy for the channel, maybe add it in during a tune portion.
Congrats on 30K! Y'all are kinda like a kid on Christmas Eve. LOL! That l'il giggle when the rear tires broke loose. LT, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say, "Y'all should open an account with the local tire shop. After the new fuel pump and fine tuning are finished I have a feeling y'all are gonna NEED it!" Giddy up.
Hell yeah LT! I'm so glad you finally got a chance to get on that skinny pedal. 30k is a big achievement, I'll bet u hit 100k real soon. Love your videos, keep up the good work.
I just got back from Hurricane for the Winter 4x4 Jamboree. Your truck is gonna be awesome for those 80mph speed limits out there. I can't wait to move there👍
Take a look into Racerender if you haven't already. Makes a nice way to share what's happening with the gauge overlay. Excellent project, I'm sub'd for dyno results.
LT, I enjoy content of you channel, you go over basics and journeyman level fab and bumper to bumper with great skill. I’m looking at making an AWD street strip truck.
Did you consider putting the Wally in a surge tank and use the stock in-tank pump as a lift pump? That way, you could use a fuel pump controller referenced to the manifold pressure to run the Wally. Of course, you don't exactly have a surplus of room under that hood.
@@LawrenceTolman Either way, a controller would help keep the 450 from running at full song (sucking current, heating the fuel, and over running the fuel system) and might not be a huge pain to integrate with the new harness. I wonder how much power the stock fuel line will support?
That went smoothly. Nice work. Luckily you didn't have too much knock after you got the fuel dialed in. I'm looking forward to how your data logs will look once you add a couple more pounds of boost. Congrats on the truck. It looks like all that hard work payed off 👍
This is real content not that bs youtubers , this is the kinda stuff I like and cant wait to sit down and see it lol..keep up the good work n videos man!
Hey L T, I've been following along with your channel and loving your projects. I know you are not concerned about fuel mileage at this time but after a while i'd love to see some fuel mileage numbers on Ugly Truck and any improvements you might do to keep it reasonably streetable. Its to expensive to daily a 4 to 5 mpg vehicle. One of the draw backs about big block vehicles. Keep up the great content. A fellow gearhead here.
once I get the tuned dialed in and the fuel system situated, I'll try and put some miles on it. It wont be as bad as 4-5mpg, even turbocharged I'd expect low teens
Way to be big guy, I was super pumped for this video. You are far more productive than me with truck projects but our reaction to the first pull is the same lol, keep it up!
On the older cars I remember they were using the TPS instead of manifold vacuum to adjust fuel but great video! Now that I’m 52 I would love to just do tuning like that. 1 other question and I might have missed it but how are you keeping that Eaton locker locked over 30mph? Or did you swap it out for the old school posi with clutches?
Have owned a couple 8.1's, latest being a stock 2006 Sierra 2500 RWD and NEVER should have sold it. What was I thinking? Best sounding engine ever especially with Magnaflow exhaust. Having the 6 spd on the Allison which is only available on the '06 I believe was a bonus.
Who else instantly smiled along with LT when he "rolled in" to a little bit of boost and lit the tires up? I know it made me giggle!
i laugh every time I watch it, and im up to about 40 times now
Absolutely....ive had a couple of trucks that were completely modified from stock & the instant gratification of power just can't be beat😎🤜🤛😎
@@LawrenceTolman Thats one way of getting additional views! haha
Dyno session coming soon? I'd love to see the n/a to boosted comparison.
Super awesome job! And, not only was it built in a garage, but street tuning it too! Great video for us regular people!!!
thats the way its done!
That's no ugly truck to me! She's gorgeous! I initially didn't really like that body style but it's grown on me and now I love it! Enjoy the channel! Keep it up!
Nice to see your excitement about spinning the tires is genuine.Nothing fake here.
Keep up the good work. Right now i am working on an 85 square body but you make me really miss my old 1999 gmc with this build.
As I said before I actually like this better than your show. Very inspiring. Congrats on 30K!!!! Glad to be a part of this great community!!! Awesome build as well!!!! Sounds wicked cool!!!!
Glad to be one of those thirty thousand subscribers!!
The joy on your face after you burn the tires for the first time is priceless. Well done.

Truck is looking good. Glad to see I'm not the only one that throws wiring scrap bits on the floor while working.
thats the only place to put em
Never thought I’d be so excited to see someone else get their project done! Sounds awesome and looks like it’s going to be a ton of fun!
I loved watching the straight laced technician face disappear with boost
That definitely put a smile on my face when you lit up the tires. I’m glad to be part of the 30,000 subscribers.
Great job LT! My 40 year mechanic soul is proud of ya!!
But hell yeah. It’s cool to see a 8.1 liter
That beast is a torque monster. It spins those tires like they aren’t even there. Sounds great 👍
4:30 gears on 30"tires so much torque to the tires

thanks a bunch! It would be so awesome to get there
Love the 8.1! After seeing so many throw it away, it's nice to see it on a path to redemption. Congratulations on meeting your goal!
Thanks so much!
So cool to see all your hard work paying off
Wow you are a great craftsman. That's a very nice truck.
thanks for the compliments!
Man that would be the perfect daily beater you can have some fun in, really like the way that trans shifts!

i had considered it (At least in passing) but I think and hope the simplest thing will be just sticking the walbro in the tank

That enthuzst apparel 👀 congrats on 30k 👍🏼
they have some cool designs!
Haha the post tire fry excitement was awesome dude!!! So rad!
I'm a simple man, all it takes is a little boost and wheel spin and I'm set.
I was excited as you when it went into boost buddy! So happy for you! Keep up the good work!
I was smiling along with you LT!
Congrats, cant wait to see the updated dyno numbers
You and me both!
