- Classic car , Vintage car , Veteran car and RADwood era car restorations and car repairs from the vantage point of the mechanics, technicians, auto electric techs, panel beaters and painters that work to keep our motoring heritage on the road.
Healey Factory Ep1 - Just 808 versions of the Ferrari 308 GTB Vetroresina ( glass reinforced plastic or glass fibre ) were made before the company reverted to steel bodies in 1977 until the end of the car's run in 1985. That makes them one of the era's most coveted cars to come out of Maranello and why it is important that this Ferrari 308 GTB was restored to it's former glory. In fact, according to @collectingcars "Ferrari initially produced 712 308 GTBs in fibreglass, of which only 154 left the factory as right-hand-drive cars. Production then moved to steel bodies in 1977. The fibreglass right-hand-drive cars are accordingly very rare, especially those with dry sump oil systems."
The problem for cars that come from wetter climates or where salt is used in winter on roads is the underpinnings of the car is prone to rust and rot. That's exactly what happened to this British delivered car but thankfully after many hours of painstaking work by The Healey Factory, it is another 308 GTB Vetroresina saved
Twice weekly visits to classic auto workshops featuring cars from the veteran to RADwood eras & including car restoration, rebuilds, repairs and restomods to anything from Aussie V8s, American muscle cars, Euro exotics, JDM, your coveted everyday runabout and more. If it's built before 1999, there's every chance I'll film it.
My name is Dave and I simply l love old cars and visiting workshops to chat to the people working on them. Added to that, I devour car content on youtube so I thought I'd join in and make some myself.
Hopefully you might like to come along for the journey as well.

Thanks to Chris and everyone at healeyfactory.com.au/ for welcoming me into their business.
The paint on that barn door was absolutely flawless!
Why do I think this level of skill is going to disappear in the next few years, superb attention to detail, sublime finish.
Been saying it a long time, the industry needs to do more to sell itself to young people or else these trades will be gone.
that deserves a revisit/part 2 in my book - amazing standard of work - cheers
There’s plenty more to come. Subscribe and hit the notification bell so you don’t miss them.👍
Caught part two yet?ruclips.net/video/wNN9DD8i0dk/видео.htmlsi=2DvwjVQ1KVGqWQkS
The CSL is just stunning
I believe there’s another two downstairs in the body and paint department
What a great video, I drive past this dealership very regularly but never bothered to check it out.
I think I will be now, what an eye opener.
Cheers
Louis Kats 👍

@@DavesClassicGarageToursV2 👍👍
Me too I used to live in Croydon and never got time to visit there even few doors away where I bought some parts for my Land Rover LOL. 😅😅
Looks like a place we should see twice a year!
We come back to it, don't worry
I think Australia punches above it's weight when it comes to car restoration and this is a classic example.
I think you’re right
Some incredible work going on here 👍
somewhat different to some classic car dealerships here in the uk that buy cars wash them and sell them out as "Fully serviced " etc
Really stunning work . What a great workshop. Thanks for the video.
Another one coming from the Healey Factory tomorrow morning. Make sure you subscribe and thank you
Reminds me of retropowers in the uk .
Great content, the quality of workmanship on these cars is amazing 👍👍👍
Thanks Neil. Plenty more to come from THF
Amazed to see the XU1 Torana and the Holden Monaro vehicles from Australia in the repair shop… Both those vehicles are highly sort after here in Auss and getting very rare for genuine pedigree.
This place is based in Melbourne, worth a visit as they produce great quality
I love it each time I go there
I did tour of the Healey factory in 2013, well worth a visit, Just leave your CC at home
You're right there MrMighty. It hasn't changed
Fantastic video. All of those cars were absolutely stunning. I've never heard of your channel before, but i liked your presenting style as your not trying to overshadow the cars your showing or the person your interviewing unlike some car based channels. Have liked and subscribed.
Thanks for your kind words Michael. Indeed, this channel is all about the cars and the people that work on them.
More than stunning!
True
Was not expecting to see a XU1 Torana, I had a LJ XU1 in 1974, the best sports car Australia ever made.
I have to say, it was a surprise to me after walking through the showroom and rest of the workshop
You’re not right there mate a lot better sports Aussie cars then XU1 Tarana

Would love to see how the Fiat 124 BC coupe looks like when done. timestamp 00:13
I definitely need to catch up with that one.
@@DavesClassicGarageToursV2 Thanks!

Yes here in Australia they some great work,if can get the right people Nick Melbourne Australia
Just needs more kids to get it into to fill the impending void
I wonder why the owner of that 308 is spending so much money on the restoration. It is not one of the great Ferraris
They’re worth a lot of dough.
Very highly regarded model within Ferrari too.
It’s a fibreglass model. They are rare care only 700 were produced. Of with the silver is the rarest colour. So it’s worth big money
That old 308 is worth NOTHING...WASTE OF TIME........
April Fools right? Good one.
Hardly...They were junk when they were new and it's junk today. The 914 Ferarri@@DavesClassicGarageToursV2
