Hard to tell Zeke. Like the previous video there are some odd things going on. Today the ground is frozen solid but I need to get my own supply down some so the new logs have a place to be set
Nice video, Joe! I'm thinking there was some kind of wood fairy putting more wood out there behind you and off camera. 🤣🤣 Seemed like every time you turned around, there was more. The Axis GT shined as always! It'll feel good to have all of that old wood cleaned up. 👍👍 - Tim
You and your helper found some gnarly wood! No wonder it got tossed and lost. Elaine from Canada here, glad to see you tackle that lingering job, and soon the boiler will be cookin’ hot and long with those huge chunks. Great camera work, and hope y’all had a nice Thanksgiving. Cheers.
Great video Joe. Lake effect snow hit hard up north. I try to support local businesses any chance I get. I just purchased a 100 gallon fuel transfer tank. The tank was built to my specs with fork pockets. Great price. Ohio company.
I don't know if it got cold enough to freeze the ground but it looks like you may be getting some of that lake effect snow to cover them up for a while! Happy Thanksgiving Sunday!
You’ll have to buy your help a Dr. Pepper with all that wood found!!😁 Here in SW Saskatchewan we hardly ever have ants in wood. Maybe underneath if it’s damp, they’ll have their white eggs underneath. But rarely in a log type piece. Mushrooms don’t really grow here in firewood either. We’re such a dry climate. But we do have snow here & its -7F as I type this. You win some, you loose some 🤣☃️☃️☃️
Hi Joe - it’s Big Rodders in Ireland. The Axis sure is a heavy and bulky machine - it’s not only cost that puts it out of the reach of most hobbyists. Have you made a decision about the future of the log road? I can see arguments for both leaving or removing it.
It is good to have someone to give back a thumbs up to, though I know you can't see it. Wish you would go back to making expressions with your eyes like you use to when you talk, I feel it's a family trait passed down, keep up the tradition👍
That's what is great about having a teen, their alwsys willing to point out what you missed😂. Next time your out and mucking through the mud back there take some tall flags (Menards?) Probably carries them, and plant them in your log patches so you don't lose them again. Great vid 👍👍👍🫶 🤠
Those rounds that you know are going to be hard to split always get put aside and then low and behold they multiply. Better to get some heat out of them instead of them rotting away.
Sure helped my day off to a good start mate. That Axxis is a great machine, very versitile. We're just getting into our summer now and I've got my woodsheds full so winters not a threat. Couldn't really justify one of those outdoor burners fo home heating here Joe but I wish I could. What huge chunks, beauty! Cheers from HB NZ
Next time you are short logs for splitting you better send this employee out to find some. I hope that they are in the running for this month’s employee of the month.
My solution would be to use the atv or lawnmower/lawn tractor and the Ultratec to haul the wood to the wood shed. That way, you don't throw your back out later when you pick up the wood off the ground.
As your new woodyard starts to fill, have you given thought to using your old woodyard for storage only? Would it make logistic sense to haul loads off the conveyor home for stacking ?
I kept wood here last year when I was trying to thin out my wood yard for the expo. I was bringing wood here. I think there is a good risk management argument to be made by keeping wood here. I will prob always have something here bc it is such a good convenience
A VERY HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU ALSO JOE AND FAMILY. It's good to get things done in your Old Woodyard. Good Boiler Wood. It's Cold here in New York, plus about 10inches of Snow. Well I am in the Hospital, As I was Diagnosed with a Serious Heart Condition. Sounds bad but it can be Controled with Medication. Should be out around Mid-Week while they get my Meds, just Right. Be back at it before I know it Hopefully. Ron from the Hospital in the Cardiology Ward.
Just curious if sales have drastically increased with this cold snap. I heat my work garage, and damn im going thru the wood. Yes i enjoyed seeing any wood saved.
we have zero snow JB! I was as far north as Orwell yesterday at my one supplier and they have zero as well. About 5 more miles north and there is 3 feet LOL
I got two things for you today Joe. 1 - When I split into an ant farm, I tell them they are evicted. No such thing as free rent. 2 - I got caught up again on the Wood Hounds podcast episodes. Great work by you and Dan by the way. I agree, the head lights on these late model cars are extra bright and seem to be aimed more directly into on coming drivers. I also think a lot of people are modifying their head lights with more lights. IDK - I thought it was just me. So I'm glad you brought it up. Enjoy the journey - cheers
Honestly no Donna. I think the worrying I did about being neighborly was always very real for me. Now I am in an industrially zoned property and it is just a few miles from home

Joe it's an honor to hang out with you. Good to finally get that job wrapped up. Hope the mud doesn't mean no more log deliveries.
Hard to tell Zeke. Like the previous video there are some odd things going on. Today the ground is frozen solid but I need to get my own supply down some so the new logs have a place to be set
Joe, it's like those rounds grow on trees!! Not many could go out in their backyard and find a week's worth of free heat.
haha... I got tired of looking bc I kept finding more!!! LOLOL
Buttoning up the old wood yard while getting btu’s ready. I call that multitasking!! Great view Joe!!
Yes... I got to get this place cleaned up!
I graveled my wood yard so I need to be cautious of stones clinging to the wood. Great job Joe you finished the project that’s what matters .
Joe another excellent job and video hope your family and you enjoyed thanksgiving together 👍😮😊❤
Thanks Todd. Same to you buddy

good for your helper to find all those log you missed it keeps you busy joe great video
Yeah... more work! LOL
Grsat wood for the boiler! The Axis made short work of it. Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Thanks Dave. Been using it the last few days. Been pretty cold

Thanks elaine! Happy thanksgiving!
I bet you will have a good time next year finally getting a chance to bush hog that area.
should make my job easier for sure Roger!
@@ohiowoodburnerand you’ll find the rest of the wood
We really appreciate all the camera angles BIG thanks to the videographer!
Thanks MV. I couldnt do this without her!
Well Joe, you wanted the ground to freeze... Here you go, at least 10 more days below freezing. Thankfully we didn't get the snow like up north.
Ain't that the truth. I was in Orwell yesterday at my supplier and they have ZERO snow just like us. Just 5 more miles north and they have 3 feet LOL
8:51 : Sun was in my eyes AND it was night time! That made me chuckle 😁
haha The struggle is real!
lucky you.. free heat this winter. Firewood and electricity are extremely expensive in my place!
Yep, I know that blue hookaroo from somewhere... That is a very useful tool for sure; I use it myself for the big woodpieces.
Love it. Great tool

Good to hear about that company buddy. Stay out of the snow
Best Thanksgiving wishes to you and your family, Joe. 👍👍👍👍
Thanks so much Dave. Same to you
As an arborist to have appreciation for all the mushrooms growning thanks for another great video
Joe
Thanks buddy
I don't know if it got cold enough to freeze the ground but it looks like you may be getting some of that lake effect snow to cover them up for a while! Happy Thanksgiving Sunday!
So far the snow has missed us but we are always at risk as long as Lake Erie is not frozen

Amazing at times what can get overlooked and or forgotten about while chasing the dream
well said Linda!
A lot of heat in those logs !
Belated Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family from Rhode Island.
Thanks for watching from Rhode Island!
That's a nice surprise to find in the weeds!
Haha whenever you are cutting or splitting when you think you're done there's always one more

Thanks Lance. Hopefully now, the are all gone LOL
@@ohiowoodburner If you missed some, you will find them next summer when you are mowing...

I think they would be worthless had I waited one more year.
Hope you and your family had a good thanksgiving. Well good to see your just about done there. Then next year get cutting in that nice tall weeds 😎
Thanks Frank!!

I gave my four wheeler away. So it has to be the truck or me!
Thing is if they for you split so fits in door then done except moving again maybe he will come around for that have a good day joe
Thanks Kevin
I know what you mean, Joe.
I have wood everywhere, and it just needs to go before it's too late.
better watch out dan. The logs are like rabbits. They keep multiplying!
Wow there was some really nice wood outta those “long lost” rounds! 😂
They are like rabbits. Multiplying!
great video Joe, what is it with red oak not rotting, i have had some sitting around for several years, and it is not rotting either!!
agree. These were all cut at the same time and sat in the same place. The maple turned pretty rotten

Just curious if sales have drastically increased with this cold snap. I heat my work garage, and damn im going thru the wood. Yes i enjoyed seeing any wood saved.
My sales don't fluctuate with the weather. I avoid selling firewood to people who heat with it. I get a seasonal rush but not bc of cold
Happy Bird day to you as well!
Thanks buddy!
Are you getting some of the lake effect snow? The Amish up in the Ashtabula community say they have nearly two feet.
we have zero snow JB! I was as far north as Orwell yesterday at my one supplier and they have zero as well. About 5 more miles north and there is 3 feet LOL
Great video, enjoyed a nice hot cup of coffee while watching the video 👍🏼
Thanks buddy. I am having one right now as well!
Happy Holidays Sir!
Happy Holidays to you too!
Great Video Happy Thanksgiving
Thanks Leah
Does any of those punky logs actually have any heat value as they definitely look past their prime.
Joe, did I miss something? I didn't hear you complain about the weather in northeast Ohio.
Nothing to gripe about this day. Good temp for splitting and NO snow!

i'd like to have one those axes for my wood yard ! but can't afford the high end prices they want for one..lol
I wonder if your high school help likes firewood as much as you. Us Canadians had our Thanksgiving last month.
My helper is awesome! He has a bright future no matter what he chooses in Life
Looks like the stuff I burn. I know a guy Barnacle Bob's Discount Wood. He specializes in the good stuff.
Do you still have the first gen low serial number axis?? If not where did it go??
Andrew traded it out with this new GT when he came here for the International Firewood Expo. A YT channel @logcabinfirewood purchased it from him.
@ohiowoodburner oh ok. I watch him too.
Didn't realize that was your old one.
So you didn’t get any of that snow other day. Lucky you. That would have kill those ant’s problems
We got zero snow. Just 20 miles north of me is 3' of snow LOL
Premium boiler wood!
about as "boiler" wood as wood can get
Happy Holidays Nice video happy holidays I do have a question for you on your Japa disc cleaner I’m in the market for one do you recommend it?
Disc cleaner is very good. I think you can't go wrong with it. Eastonmade makes one too. Thanks Chad
Thanks when you getting your tuxedo out of the closet
Your lift table looks like it lifts higher than mine. Was that a modification you made or did you get it that way?
Is your's the new model? I noticed they made it so the edge of the log doesn't get snagged on the seam. It works much better
@ohiowoodburner indeed it is. That lip is very annoying.
And you also have the world’s greatest wheelbarrow motor in the world.
haha... Not sure about that but def the wheelbarrow!!! Thanks Beachy! Hope you guys have been staying warm
Looks like a perfect place to grow pumpkin$
possible. There is a big patch just down the road from me
You sent those ants there eviction notice.
haha. They weren't paying their rent so...out they go!
I had so many ants in the recent pick up of elder
I hope it doesn't affect the end product
Good job nice shoes
haha
I'm not sure how long ago this was filmed, but the ground should be frozen very soon.
It sure was this morning!
The fungus is amungust.
haha. Indeed
😂👍
Thanks Nick
Camouflage, nighttime, etc. so funny. Twas a low priority. You will get a few hot showers out of those splits.
agree. Thanks Tom!
do you ever miss earning your living in your back yard
Honestly no Donna. I think the worrying I did about being neighborly was always very real for me. Now I am in an industrially zoned property and it is just a few miles from home
hey ... a mobile log splitting business ...
haha I was thinking the same thing!
That wood looks punky how many years have they been degrading
almost two years. This is my old wood yard. I had a hasty exit and left a lot of logs behind.
